My wife and I just spent the month of February at Rhonda and Bob's rental and if you're looking for a relaxing, non-stressful, enjoyable, comfortable, perfect location, etc then this is the place for you!!! Our two golden retrievers loved chasing the geikos and the walks down the beach probably more then we did. My favorite part was the 3 ft deep pool with the ledge on one end that a person(s) could sip their favorite drink, soak up the sun, and if it got too hot you could open up the umbrella for some shade. The house had everything you need and then some to enjoy a week or a month. If something went wrong (which never happened on our stay) Bob and Rhonda would be there to help. The patio was another great location to sit and read. The rental is centrally located in a quiet little subdivision with polite and friendly neighbors with the beach, restaraunts, state park, bars, grocery stores a short walk, trolley ride, or drive away. The only complaint I might have (not under the control of Rhonda or Bob) is that because this area is sooooooooooo nice Estero Blvd can get backed up a little at certain times of the day. But what the heck we all have more time them we do money so plan accordingly especially it you need to be somewhere at an exact time. To sum it up "The Hibiscus House" is an affordable vacation home that will make you feel right at home the minute you unlock the door and take your first step into the patio and pool area. You will look at the looks on your family faces and realize that you made the right decision when you stay here. Just remember though I will be fighting for the dates I want to return here so plan ahead because this house will always be in demand!!! What a wonderful house to spend our vacation in. Our family (two small boys) had a blast at your house. Rhonda is the best caretaker and has opened this beautiful house to share with us. The pool and hot-tub in the backyard was great. We were able to spend our afternoon playing out there while our youngest took his naps. There are toys galore in the shed for the beach, which saved us some fairly hefty baggage charges hauling our own. The grill was awesome (we don't care to grill when it's -25 degrees at home). It's 8 houses in from Estero Blvd. and the beach, has a trolley stop within a block going both directions. The house was beautiful inside, plenty of room to play and relax, a great kitchen to cook as many or as few meals as you want, the washer and dryer sure helped, even a special treat in the fridge upon arrival (yeah, those went really quick ; ) The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are very nice. We can't say enough good things about the house, wish we could give more then 5 stars. It really felt like a home. We will definitely be back, hopefully next year. I have stayed at many different properties over the last 5 years and this one is the best. It has everything, pool, spa and an area to lay in sun. The interior was in great shape. Most places you rent are "bare bones", not this one. It has all the little extras that make it feel like home. A week stay is not enough, it goes by so fast. Will be staying here many, many years. I got to meet Bob, one of the owners and what a great guy. Don't think twice about renting this home or the others that they own.... The place is better than the pictures. The pictures look great, but the home has a great feel that can't be described in the photos. While on the island, you need to try the fish tacos at the fish house, My favorite. We have been coming to the area for 5+ years, each year it gets harder to go back home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This house is awesome and Rhonda and Bob are awesome...home has everything you could need for the beach or just hanging out by the pool. Kitchen is great, all you could need for cooking or baking. We had the best time and will definitely rent this home again. We stayed for a week and everyone had an amazing time!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a fantastic time during our stay! The house is absolutely perfect and even better than described. Quick and easy walk to the beach, trolley stop or store. The owners we very friendly and helpful... gave us great restaurant suggestions and did everything to ensure we felt at home! Make sure and stop by the BEACHED WHALE while you're there! Great food and Great music!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My daughter, my foster Afghanistan War Dog and I had a great restful vacation. This place is wonderful and the owner is absolutely great. We would highly recommend this rental. This place lacked for nothing.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed stayed at this location for 10 days. It was absolutely wonderful! Everything you need to have a great vacation. Good size, clean and the comforts of home. The pictures do not do it justice. I would recommend this place to anyone who ever ever needed to just get away from it all! If you are looking for some R & R, this is the place...You can even rent scooters down the road for sightseeing! Can not say enough, Rhonda and Bob (the owners) were a delight to deal with. As the owner of a vacation rental company, vacation rental homes and a frequent traveler who stays in Vacation Rental Homes, I write this review with a lot of experience in this field. That being said, my husband, Great Dane, and I stayed here for the month of Feb 2012 and had the most amazing time! There is a noticeable difference between an "investment property" and someone's vacation home that they are gracious enough to open for guests to enjoy. I truly felt as if we were staying at a friend's vacation home who let us use it for the month. It was so comfortable, homey, nicely decorated, furnished, clean and well maintained! Some things that are important to me are: a comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, clean house and short walk to the beach. This house has that and so much more! All you need to bring is your bathing suit and be ready to relax. The house has everything - linens, nice towels (beach & bath), spices, you name it! Knowing that we were coming from a long ways away, the owner even stocked the fridge with drinks for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend this house as long as you aren't looking for Feb. 2014 - we are already planning on coming back for another month :).Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Just returned from our holiday trip to beautiful Ft. Myers Beach where our family and another family shared this beautiful beach house rental. We would recommend this rental to anyone wishing to truly get away from it all. Rhonda is friendly and helpful and made sure that our stay was delightful. Thank you for everything, Rhonda. It was tough for us to leave and return to cold and cloudy Illinois. If we could spend every Christmas on the beach in your home we would!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My grandkids and I just returned from spending our vacation in this bit of paradise and it was fabulous! Everything was even better than the pictures and the owners were so attentive to our needs and wants. The youngest child asked when we could go back for another visit and that was even before we had left for home! I highly recommend this property to everyone. Just returned home from our trip to beautiful Ft.Myers Beach. Upon putting our deposit down a couple of months prior to our slated arrival we had the opportunity to speak to Rhonda who was absolutely charming. We decided to rent from her not so much because of the attraction to her listing but because of how gracious and laid back she was. Her personality is very warm and she makes you feel relaxed long before your vacation ever starts. Thank you Rhonda! There are no pictures that could capture what this rental has to offer. You can read the description but it doesn't convey it's every appeal. First, the remodeling job that was done is a work of art. It is like a brand new house,so clean and bright! There was so much more room than we anticipated judging from the photos. The decor was in great taste and very comfortable with every amenity imagineable. Aside from the usual tv's, radio's and brand new appliances there are zillions of board games,books and playing cards. We really felt more like guests staying in a good friends house than renters. The pool area and backyard was awesome too. Very private and extremely well kempt. There's an outside sink, refridgerator and pool stereo too. We have been renting houses for many,many years from one coast to the next and have never had a better time or stayed in a lovlier home. Period. We will definitely be returning to "Zen House" next year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a great beach home with wonderfull owners! My wife & I stayed the month of Febuary 2011 with our yellow lab. Everything we needed was there and in good condition. The ocean & back bay fishing were a very short walk away. If something was desired the owners were a phone call away with great response time!Did you find this review helpful? This is the first time we've done a vacation away from family and were concerned, but this house made it worth it!!! Rhonda and Bob are outstanding to deal with and make everything convenient and easy and the house has everything we needed. We have a 4 and 6 year old boys and they didn't want to leave!! Definitely will go back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

This beach house was perfect for our family! Comfortable, cozy, homey and not pretentious at all. Just a short walk to the beach and the heated pool was great to dip in afterwards. We recently stayed at this home for a local mini vacation. It was the perfect setting for our family of five. Everything you could possibly want is there a fenced yard for the kids to play in, a screened in pool, a grill, and linens including beach towels!
