Fairplay House

Guest: Catherine and Scott W.
Date of Stay: 12/25/11 Review Submitted: 01/04/12

Betsy, Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the Fairplay house. It was absolutely perfect for us and everything the website said and more - totally well-stocked and comfortable beyond words. We all had such a great time, despite what you locals said was "bad skiing" weather and/or lack of snow. We all said how lovely the Fairplay setting would be in summer, so...ya never know!! Take care, Catherine (and Scott) p.s. Please pass on this feedback to Pat about the house, though I'm sure he already knows. He was excellent to work with....

Great Place to Stay

This property is true to it's description. The owner's Pat and Jim were great to work with and very professional. I would recommend this to others that like some seclusion, but also the amenties of a nearby town. I would definitely rent this property in the future.

Family Vacation July 9th - 16th

Guest: Nicole (Lincoln, NE)
Date of Stay: 07/09/11 Review Submitted: 07/18/11

This was the most amazing place to stay when we visited Colorado. The house was even better than the pictures. You are so secluded and nestled in a forest type area. I just can't imagine a better place that we could have stayed. We had 6 adults and 2 kids and we felt right at home and yet enough room to roam and play without being in each others way. There isn't anything that I would change about the home and our stay. My girls even wanted to stay in Colorado longer. Jim and Pat and their families were the best and made you feel so welcomed in their home. I wish we could visit more often now.

Owner response:One of the questions we often have is if our property is on the side of a mountain. It is not! Our property is generally flat and surrounded by aspen trees with a small hill behind the house. We do not have any neighbors on three sides of the property. The aspens provide privacy and are a great place for kids to play.

Dear Jim and Pat. Thank you so much for all of the help you provided us. From the first discussion of renting your beautiful home you both have been such a delight to work with. Our family had a wonderful Christmas in your home. In fact, it was probably our favorite family trip. We would love to come back during trout season :) Take care and have a wonderful New Year. The Noble Family.

Perfect Vacation

Guest: Mike (Denton, TX, USA)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/27/10

This mountain house was beautiful beyond expectations. The Photos don't do the house and land justice. From the moment we pulled in the drive until we walked through the entire house we were repeatedly saying "Wow!" I remember saying I almost hate to leave the house during the week because it's so nice. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, and completely furnished. The house was in immaculate condition. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to cook all of our meals. Pat called and checked on us during the week. You can't see another house from the deck or driveway; the property is encompassed with aspen trees. The kids played throughout the day exploring the acres of trees and playing in the existing "forts" and building their own; for that reason alone we plan on coming back next year. Most mornings we enjoyed coffee watching hummingbirds and Stellar Jays from the deck. Pike National forest is a short walk away from the house and I enjoyed running on the trails. There's trout fishing in just about every direction and Breckenridge is a short drive for lots of activities. We really enjoyed the fire pit. The kids roasted marshmallows and made smores as we watched a meteor shower our last night. We really hated to leave and return to the Texas heat but we are already looking forward to coming back next year. We have stayed at 3 other mountain properties and this one is far above the rest.

Jim and Pat were so friendly during the entire rental process! We were thrilled with the house and property. It was very clean and well stocked! There wasn't a single thing we needed that we didn't find available for us to use. My niece and daughter loved the bunk-beds, something they don't have at home. The kids had a great time in the woods-my son insists a sasquatch must have built the various shelters he came upon! Thanks for opening it up to us-we feel we got a value and our money's worth!

Great Get-Away!

Guest: Bob & Linda (Kansas)
Date of Stay: 07/24/10 Review Submitted: 08/09/10

This mountain home was excellent! Everything was well stocked! Everthing was very clean & well maintained. The owners even called the second day to see if we needed anything. It is a good location, with Fairplay (with a grocery store) only about 2 mi. away. Breckenridge, with lots to do, about 30 min. away. The home is in a valley with flat land around it, so there is plenty of room for kids to play outside. This is the 4th mountain home that we have rented over the last 6 years, & it is by far the best!!! We would highly recommend it to anyone!

Pat and Jim, Thank you so much for letting us stay at the house on Silverheels. We had a WONDERFUL time. Wow- what an incredible house and property! It was so nice to let my children run free and play in the woods. We had a great time building a campfire and making smores. Enjoy the rest of your summer- hope you get back to the house many times. Hopefully you will let us share it again. Thanks again!

Pat, Jim, Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying at your mountain home. Everyone commented on how well designed and comfortably furnished the house is. I especially liked the winter sports theme with the old wooden skis, snowshoes, etc. The kids had fun with all the toys and games, and the adults appreciated all the useful books and info you made available. The surrounding aspen grove was lovely. It was such a pleasant contrast to where we stayed last year (i.e., in a pine forest suffering from beetle infestation). Thanks again for sharing your wonderful place with us. --Larry

We have been to a few vacation rentals over the years, but this has been one of our favorites. We were impressed at how well stocked everything was! (The bathrooms, kitchen, pantry, children's toys, etc.) It was a great home to accommodate nine adults and six kids. Thank you! The pictures do not do the house or location justice !! It is so very beautiful, clean, spacious, and quiet. We had lots of snow on the ground and had a great time sleding down the hill in back. The location is great, very easy drive to "Breck"(as the locals call it) and Copper Mt.(great tubing & snow boarding). Pat(the owner)was more than helpful with any questions we had. Our family vacation could not have been more relaxing or enjoyable...Thanks Pat. I would highly recommend this property

This mountain home is everything that the VRBO web site describes and more! Four of us stayed here 17-20Sep 2009 and enjoyed it thoroughly. The accomodations are beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable, with all kitchen, bed linens, and bath essentials provided. The location is very close to Fairplay and quite convenient to Breckenridge. Pat (the home owner) made the entire process of rental and use of the home very easy. He answered all my questions promptly, and provided all the home-related and local information we needed for an enjoyable stay. If you're looking for a great place from which to base your Colorado adventure, you can't do much better than this mountain home.
