This inviting vacation home is sited on a large, one-half acre parcel. The cottage is set back from the road and is fully fenced and gated with crushed granite pathways. The grounds have been extensively renovated and include native plantings and raised garden beds filled with herbs, organic lettuces and other edibles. An outdoor dining area with a custom made concrete table is perfect for al-fresco dining. Also there are additional and ample seating areas sitting on the seawall plus the most amazing forever views.
The cottage is approximately 1100 sq. ft with one + bedroom and 1.5 baths plus an additional sleeping area. Inside, warm and inviting colors of the sea, sky and nature invite you inside. The comfortable and generous rooms have vaulted ceilings, skylights and expansive window walls that have been redone from top to bottom. With an airy, open feel the large great room includes a chef's kitchen that is fully equipped and offers top of line appliances including a glass fronted Subzero and Wolf range top. A large, honed marble work island takes center stage with seating for 4 and the adjacent dining area seats 12. Full of unexpected touches you won't find anywhere else includes a bar area, subzero wine refrigerator, Nespresso coffee maker, a small library of cookbooks, gourmet everything plus state of the art LCD flat screen TV, wireless computer hookup and printer. The extra sleeping accommodations in the living area include a queen sleeper
sofa with drapery wall for privacy. Whoever sleeps here will wake up to breathtaking views of the nature lagoon...you most likely will see a seal or two pop up right in front of you. The views of the wildlife preserve and Mt. Tamalpais are some of the finest in Marin County.
The Master bedroom is privately situated and is equipped with a pillowy king bed with flannel sheets and state of the art flat screen LCD TV. The master bathroom has a walk in shower the colors of sand and the sea, with a honed, calacatta marble vanity.
The property includes a full-size custom Bocce ball court, walking paths, an outdoor grill and a custom made concrete table. The seawall creates ample extra seating overlooking the nature lagoon. And, just a short walk to the beach and to the private tennis courts nearby completes this perfect Seadrift experience. Staying here you might just feel like you were wisked away to somewhere else. You could have an intimate dinner for two sitting outside while sipping great wine and then, that view. Why the Owner Chose Stinson Beach
I am a real estate agent with Decker Bullock Sotheby's in Mill Valley. My husband had visited Seadrift before but didn't really know about the differences between the Bolinas Lagoon location, of our cottage, and the man-made lagoon, which is the location for most of the houses in Seadrift, where the houses are located directly across from one another. We knew the location of this cottage was rare due to its nature lagoon location and "forever" views. Plus it is located just a stone's throw away from the beach, near the end of the Seadrift peninsula just across from Bolinas. We knew this was special with the stunning backdrop of Mt.Tamalpais and GGNRA open space views. We saw its potential and now here we are and we feel so lucky to call this our home away from home.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Stinson Beach is a unique beach community nearby Bolinas and Point Reyes National Seashore. With spectacular views of nearly 1100 acres of protected national parks it is truly a very special destination. Rent a bike, go for a walk on the beach, paddle board around the lagoons, shop in town for groceries. Just a short drive to Bolinas and then to Pt. Reyes which offers farmer's market on Saturday mornings where you can buy artisan cheeses at Cowgirl Creamery in town and then maybe a bottle of wine and a Pt.Reyes Brickmaiden baguette. Hmmmmm.......it doesn't get better than this. A place in the sun by the sea.

My husband I live in Mill Valley and were not even looking to buy a second home in Stinson Beach or anywhere for that matter. Then a small cottage in Seadrift presented itself to us. The site was compelling with its forever views. Plus it was right near the beach and yet it was located directly on the natural Bolinas Lagoon. But the house needed updates and the grounds were overgrown and forlorn. So here begins our story of a little cottage by the sea...and after much TLC and renovation and overall attention to every detail it has become a very special place for us to be when. you want to be somewhere besides home. Where, even on cold, foggy mornings, when the lagoon is perfectly still and misty, where you can't tell the difference between the water and the sky. Or better yet, when the sun is out and it is just ONE of those days, not a cloud in the sky, a place where you get to enjoy your book (or IPad) just lounging in the sun. Of course, for me there is that favorite time of day when the sun is low in the sky, the color of pale gold, and the air is still and warm and smells of the sea. And, for us this is a place to walk on the beach or dig in the garden beds snipping arugula for dinner, a place to relax while sipping a glass of wine, with the dogs underfoot, cooking something on the grill for a late afternoon dinner. Yes, for us, it is our home away from home and I think you might just think so too...
