The whole family picked up and spent a couple of nights in this wonderful, well-maintained home along the Oregon coast. Can't beat the price. The location is also ideal and within walking distance to the beach and town. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks, Josh. We would love to have you back next summer! Karen

The house was clean and airy with plenty of space not only for us but also for various friends and family to stop by over the week. The location was perfect. It was walkable not only to the beach but was about 2 blocks to the main thoroughfare with lots of little boutique shops. It was also easy to drive down to the beach with all of the kids and stuff and find parking there. We never found that the area was too crowded with tourists (which can happen in Cannon Beach). It was a perfect combination. We would definitely be inclined to rent here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks, Simone! We are glad you had the room you needed for your family and friends. Your children are charming - it was a delight to meet all of you. Karen

This is a perfect house in a great location. My family has taken a week vacation at this home away from home for the past two July's. It is a quick walk to the beautiful beaches in Manzanita. The beaches are not overcrowded and very pleasant. It's also a very short walk into town, the park and the golf course. The house is very roomy with 3 bedrooms, 5 beds and a futon. The renters are wonderful people and add a nice touch by providing towels, a barbeque, kitchen supplies, a picnic table, and beach toys. Absolutely no complaints...look forward to next year's vacation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks, Casey. You have a beautiful family and great friends. I'm glad they were able to join you in Manzanita for your birthday this year! See you next July! Karen

Our family of 8 stayed at Manzanitaville in July 2010. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation rental. It was clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated. No detail had been overlooked. There were plenty of bed linens and towels available. The kitchen was well appointed. There were lots of extras like DVD's, books, and games for our use. The beds were comfortable, too. The yard was just as lovely as the house. We enjoyed eating dinner outside on the patio or just sitting to read in the garden. The owners were a joy to work with. We would definitely return to this property if given the chance.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Dana, we hope your family can get back to the Pacific Northwest soon! Such a change from an Arizona summer, huh? It was nice that you and your friends could get together in Manzanita for your daughter's special 15-year reunion. I hope your youngest daughter has a reunion coming up as well! You're all welcome here any time. Karen

Manzanitaville is a huge step above your typical beach rental. This is a lovely, fully furnished, sophisticated, tasteful home. The 3 bedrooms offer so much flexibility with the largest room (with a loft) down a hallway for a bit more privacy, or for putting kids to bed early in a quiet room. We love the 4 blocks to the beach, 2 blocks to town and 1 block to the little kid-friendly park. The garden and back patio are perfect for large dinners. We have stayed there many times and will definitely be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for the kind words! We'd love to have your family back - any time! Karen

Each time we've stayed at Manzanitaville, it's better than the last. The house is artfully comfortable, spacious, and the owners have thought of everything! The kitchen is really cool and well-equipped, there are tons of games, books and movies for evenings or rainy days, and the street is quiet and in a very nice neighborhood. There are lots of comfy bedrooms, and one with a really romantic cubby-hole bed with a skylight and curtains to enclose you! The beach is a just a short walk past other gorgeous homes, and it is amazing in itself. 7 miles of Pacific splendor, with beautiful Neahkahnie Mountain towering over the north end. The hike up to the top of Neahkahnie (trailhead is a short drive from the house) is great, and the view from up there is simply breathtaking. The town has many good restaurants and grocery stores, pizza place, ice cream, etc... all within a short walk. What I like best about this beach house is that while it's a beautiful, sparkling clean home, it's very casual and comfortable, and I can bring my kids and their friends, and feel like they can have fun and enjoy themselves there. And yet it's not dumpy, drab, or full of ancient furniture. It's modern, Pacific Northwest style at its best: relaxing!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: BeanJean: You and yours are always welcome here! -Karen

The pluses for us were: the decor and style of the house are very pleasing and tasteful; lots of windows and great light; lovely neighborhood. The walk into town and to the beach and the park were easy and comfortable. Best place we've stayed in Manzanita.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved, loved, loved staying in this house! Blocks from downtown and blocks from the beach. Plus, we were halfway between Seaside and Tillamook for nice little half day trips to the surrounding area. The house itself had everything that you could possibly need. Hope to be back again next year. Thank you to Karen and Jeff for offering such nice accommodations. Mike, Jen, JT & JuliaOwner response: Thanks for the compliment, Jen, and thanks again for the guest book. It's a great idea! See you next year! Karen

We have stayed in several homes in Manzanita over the years, so we feel we have a good base for comparison. The location of the house, though not on the beach or with a view, has a good location-it's on a quiet street, close to town and the beach. Karen and Jeff have a well stocked house with all the necessities and several 'frills'-lots of books, games, big screen TV-something for everyone. There is plenty of room for 3 families-we had our kids with their kids for the long 4th of July weekend and had plenty of room. We always enjoy our stay at their home. About the owner: Hello from Jeff and Karen Yurka. We live here in Manzanita, well-rooted in the community. We'd love to let you in on what's happening while you're in town, where the best day hikes are, which restaurants are good, where to find sand dollars on the beach, etc. We are equally happy to leave you to discover the area on your own - it's your vacation!
Why the Owner Chose Manzanita:
This home is located in Manzanita's 'sweet spot.' It's close enough to the beach, but far enough from the wind. Everything is a short level walk from here!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
In addition to the roar of the ocean, we really enjoy walking and riding bikes in the State Park, hiking to the top of Neahkahnie Mountain. The Nehalem River and Bay (less than 3 miles to the east) are wonderful for kayaking and clamming. People tell us the surfing and kite surfing are great!
