Spent the beginning of the holiday weekend here with the family - and the cottage pool house did not disappoint! We spent the day relaxing poolside & enjoying the grounds! This is truly a home away from home - all the amenities & supplies were of top quality! The kids were so sad to leave - but we will definitely be back! This is a real find!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We were moving from a home in the area and our new place wasn't ready yet so we stayed at the pool house simply because it was the closest rental we could find, but I suspect it must also be the nicest little rental in town. We got lucky! It could not have been more perfect. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower was spacious. All the linens were of high quality. The apartment was well-appointed and it decorated very nicely. The views of the garden and the pool were stunning. The owners live in the main house and were friendly and accommodating. The location is great - just a couple minute drive to restaurants and grocery and a few minutes more to Auburn's wonderful downtown. The spa was the icing on the cake!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Our friends recommended the Auburn Cottage Pool House to us and it was perfect! Bob and Jeanne have decorated a lovely "apartment" on the second story of their pool house. The big deck was a wonderful place to take in the views, and the large bathroom and kitchenette were great! We were there for five nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay! We can't wait to visit again and bring our grandchildren to see the 5-acre farm and its animals! They will love the kiddie pool between the spa and main pool. We loved the beautifully maintained gardens around the main house and the pools. Thank you, Bob and Jeanne, for a wonderful experience!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

It would take a review the length of a Tale of Two Cities to properly extoll this amazing VRBO. But in shortened order it is a 5 star property that is part of a 5 acre farm. It is exceptional. It is modern and fully equipped. It is spotless. Its location is ideal. The small farm is lovely. Its owners are superb human beings with equally superb children. They accommodate every request with grace. It is, down to its 3 collies, Martha the pig, Bella the cow, and chickens, absolutely a beautiful and perfect place. Auburn has some good restaurants and a restaurant (Edelweiss) that makes 49 kinds of omelettes with 4 eggs. Don't miss Katrina's for breakfast! There are a lot of interesting side trips one can make from Auburn, a very interesting town. You can go east to the upper elevations of the Sierras.. You can go west to Napa Valley, however, you can probably spare yourself that trip and go to the Mt. Vernon Winery not far from the property. Its wines are quite excellent and, at least to us, rival the wineries of Napa for less money. You can go west to Roseville with lots of mall shopping and good restaurants or go all the way to Sacramento. You can go northeast to Nevada City, and find excellent leather goods! If you want to gamble go to the Thunder Bay Casino near Roseville with a top notch Asian restaurant. If you want to take in some real history go to The Folsom Penitentiary and visit its museum and then tour the Folsom zoo, a rescue operation with everything from peacocks to bears. Superb and magnificent understate this find. As diamonds go this is the Hope Diamond of vacation accommodations. ------- Bill and MaggieRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

I almost hesitate to write a review because we want to be able to return often. It not only had a clean and comfortable environment, it also had a superior attention to detail. Fresh flowers were in the rooms, fresh eggs, milk in the fridge. There is an abundance of storage and a washer and dryer. Our only regret was that the piglets didn't arrive until after our stay. Job well done and we'll see you this summer!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We spend a restful four day vacation in the pool house, We were lucky enough the weather still allowed us to enjoy the amazing salt water pool. The spa, views, and landscaping are just as photographed. The interior is done with an understated elegance with a eye for subtle details. Clean and generously appointed with velvety sheets, lush towels and the most decandent robes imaginable. Comfortable, quiet, with views from every window yet private. The kitchen if very functional and eggs awaited us in the small refer. You will have a great selection of glasses, flatware and dishes to choose from in plating your meals. We hope to return in the future.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We live in Auburn but surprisingly needed a rental last March. I accidentally flooded our hardwood floors/home two weeks prior to having our first baby. We were able to stay at the pool house via our insurance carrier and it was lovely. We brought our first born baby boy to this property and felt safe secure and overly welcome from the owners. We will most likely rent the pool house again on his first birthday to relive the memories. (weather and availability permitting). Pigs, chickens, views, and location are a plus. If your looking for a great vrbo in auburn this property is top notch with class act owners. -Will, Tori and baby TalonRecommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The Pool House is a lovely stylish accommodation with many amenities, including sparkling clean upscale décor, fabulous pool & spa, ping pong room, and badminton court. We spent our 41st anniversary here and enjoyed every minute, especially since our hosts made sure all needs were met. Add to that fresh eggs and garden vegetables – quite a treat. We will return!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We were very pleased with this lovely cottage. it was more spacious than it appeared on the photographs, and the pool is truly lovely, perfect for relaxing yet large enough for a bit of exercise! The cottage is clean and beautifully furnished with comfortable sofas, and excellent kitchen appliances, plenty of storage space, which was important for us as we were staying for 2 weeks. We were spoiled with 'home grown' melons and vegetables, and also a box of eggs from the chickens, in fact, we found that our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We found that there was a lot to do in the area, looking at where the first gold was discovered, wandering around Old Auburn was charming, and we also went a little further afield, Napa Valley is very 'doable' in a day, we also got over to the coast to see Bodega Bay, where Alfred Hitchcock based 'The Birds'. Tahoe was another day out, and we also got to Yosemite - though that was a long day, and in retrospect, we could have stayed overnight. We really enjoyed a day in Old Sacramento, which happily was having an event day, with lots of people dressed up in gold-rush era clothing. We found it a perfect spot to combine sight-seeing and relaxing, and cannot believe that it all passed so quickly. We thoroughly recommend this for foreign visitors who want to experience a slice of American life, relax AND sight-see. Thank you Jeanne and Bob for making our holiday one to remember.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
