This stunning redwood and glass home in the heart of Big Sur overlooks its private 20 acre valley to an ocean view. It’s a 2,500 square foot retreat with expansive decks on every level and no visible neighbor – only meadows, stunning mature Oaks, Sycamore, Bay and other native trees with private hiking trails, a seasonal pond and ancient Redwood-lined stream.
The home’s master bedroom takes the entire upper level, with a Redwood mantel fireplace and an out-of-sight, spacious, ocean view deck. The large walk-in shower in the master bath takes in the ocean and giant Redwood views. The entertainment room is easily converted to a very comfortable second bedroom with adjoining bath and queen-sized pull-out sofa bed. Additional futons are available to sleep two more on the floor. A private, separate studio apartment with a queen bed and kitchenette is near completion on the ground level of the house and will be available….
Most people don’t want to leave once they arrive in the Clear Ridge enclave, one of Big Sur’s finest private wilderness environment. From Highway One you’ll enter through an electric gate and bridge over the Big Sur River next to the famous Big Sur River Inn. You rise up from the river and the classic Big Sur Valley to the mountain ridgeline at 1,200 hundred feet and drop down hundreds of feet toward the Pacific Ocean to a private valley. You can continue on Clear Ridge Road to a second gated entrance, opening to world-renowned Pfeiffer Beach.
There is wonderful hiking on the property and a seldom-traveled road which I have used as my favorite hiking trail. There is also great hiking in Andrew Molera State Park next door to Clear Ridge, with its wild, isolated beaches and mystical Redwood and Oak forests.
There is free, high-speed internet on the property and no cell phone reception at the house, though it is available nearby. This is the perfect getaway for those who want a true, wild and very private Big Sur experience. It’s a fully solar-powered luxury home with all the comforts, but away from it all. Unfortunately this property is not available for special events at this time. We want to respect the privacy of Clear Ridge property owners. It is a very private & protected special place we want to keep that way.
