Owner info
Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: I was brought up in L.I. New York where I reside today. Being surrounded by water in my childhood and enjoying it as much as I did, I knew early on that I could never be far away from it. After 35 years in the commercial office furniture business I retired two years ago and have been enjoying living at various times in Estero and NY. Boating, golf, tennis and exercise are the activities I like to do. Spending time with friends and family, enjoying their company is also one of my favorite things to do. At Breckenridge it makes it so easy and so much fun. I met a lot of new people this year and look forward to seeing them for years to come.
Why the Owner Chose Breckenridge Golf & Tennis Club:
I bought here new in 1999 because of the openness and rural character of the area. It has since been built up of course but built in a responsible manner. Estero bay is in the state Florida Forever program and can never be built on to retain it's natural condition. I live a quarter of a mile from state walking trails showing the bay forest ecosystem. The Estero river is about 1000 feet from my home and have kayaked to the bay and the gulf a number of times. Koreshan state park is also a mile away, showing a religious settlement, along with camping, canoe rentals, and walks along the Estero river with its towering bamboo. Not only does this area have nature, for those who like to shop Estero has one of the biggest state of the art malls. I go there because it is set up so well, resembling an Italian Village, where people actually live on the second story of the mall. When I feel like a little more culture than that, I take a 30 min. trip to Naples to its art stores and Main St. for its bistro like setting. Sometimes I'll take a two and half hour ride across Alligator Alley for an afternoon and evening dinner in Miami south beach for something completely different. Being from the northeast, one of the best reasons I bought here is the 70 to 80 degree temperatures in the dead of winter.
