Year Purchased: 1980
My husband and I grew up in Germany and moved to Pennsylvania in the 1960s. We instantly fell in love with Stowe as it reminded us of our childhood skiing in the Alps. We have owned our vacation home since 1980 and raised our daughter skiing on Mt. Mansfield. She and her husband now also own a vacation home in the same complex, and are raising yet another little Stowe skier. Come visit Stowe - you'll fall in love too.
Why the Owner Chose Stowe
Stowe boasts the best skiing and snowboarding adventures in the East. The ski slopes offer something for every level of skier as well as cross-country skiing, sledding, dog-sledding, ice skating, among other winter adventures. The fall foliage is stunning. Summer in Stowe is beautiful, with plenty to do including, hiking, biking, swimming, tennis, fishing, sight-seeing, agri-tourism, arts & crafts, theatre, concerts, and festivals. There is something to do for every season in a unique, non-commercial, beautiful setting.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
The ability to be at home while you ski is important to us. Skiing can be expensive and it is nice not to have to add on to that cost, a high priced hotel room, and countless meals out in restaurants. We like being close to the mountain, but avoiding the hassle of parking/ storing skis/ coordinating timing among family members. Ski home for lunch. Cook dinner at home in your large kitchen. Keep your skis outside in the locker. Turn on the fire. Relax. Throw your gloves and socks in the drier. Do a load of laundry if you need to. Especially with kids, the comforts of home are paramount. We also love the privacy and scenery of the lodge in particular. It is quiet here. You hear the brook babbling and feel the mountain air. The pool and tennis courts are never busy or crowded. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the people are very pleasant.
