We are proud to announce that Casa Las Nubes has won the prestigious “America's Residential Property Award” for Best Property in Costa Rica!
We were also featured in Su Casa magazine.
Casa Las Nubes is a stunning new luxury villa. The casa is nestled in a Costa Rican jungle hillside in Tulemar Gardens of the Manuel Antonio National Park area. Designed by an award-winning architect, the sweeping curve design of the villa drinks in the lush jungle environment and expansive Pacific Ocean views, which can be enjoyed from private terraces on each of the three levels.
The large windows and open air design help to achieve a strong relationship between the natural surroundings and interior spaces. A pool feature extends throughout the main level, so you are literally 'walking on water' as you enter the home.
Casa Las Nubes enjoys all of the benefits of Tulemar, including our own beach, free shuttle and food and beverage service.
Casa Las Nubes has 4,500 luxurious square feet, including three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. The gourmet kitchen has been well appointed with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. (Catering services or a private chef are available for an additional fee.)
Guests have ready access to the house manager, Diego, who serves as your personal assistant throughout your stay. He is able to set up your tours and activity arrangements. Maid and gardening services are performed daily.
The landscape architecture around Casa Las Nubes and planter boxes were done by Donna Porter, a distinguished horticulturalist, who has been living in the Manuel Antonio area for six years. She created our unique garden areas and has planted a multitude of fruit…lime, lemon, oranges, red grapefruit, guayaba, mamochin, papaya, cacoa, and a small sweet variety of mango trees below the house.
There are numerous energy conservation and alternative energy systems in use at Casa Las Nubes. With 150 inches of annual rainfall in this jungle area, the large 10 foot overhangs of the roof, a signature trait of architect Andres Morales, were designed to capture nearly 2,000 gallons per inch of rainfall for use in the house and gardens. Water storage under the house is held in three 1,320 gallon food safe containers. The water for the house is filtered by three sediment filters, then a charcoal filter, after which it goes through an ultraviolet system for further purification. The end result is the purest drinking water available for guests. The tropical sun heats the water in a roof panel which circulates to an extra insulated 100 gallon hot water backup heater. A Metlund quick demand hot water circulation system provides instant hot water in the bathrooms and kitchen.
Although Tulemar Gardens is on the municipal utility grid, Casa Las Nubes has an alternative electrical system with 4 kw of battery storage with an Magnum inverter to supply electricity instantly when there are power interruptions (which is usually daily!). A battery charger keeps the batteries fully charged. Six 190w photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roof to generate power for the batteries and provide the majority of electricity for the house. Guests are asked to follow energy conservation rules by not wasting water and turning off the air conditioners when not in the bedrooms.

We just sadly left our jungle oasis at Casa Las Nubes. What an incredible house and property this was. The house is architecturally stunning and the amenities are second to none. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived and were so thankful to Diego and Bill, our house concierges, for their constant help every time we turned around. They took us on nature hikes around the property, always finding a Sloth or a particular bird that completely eluded the rest of us. All reservations at local eateries were handled for us and our zip-lining excursion as well. What a blast that was! The house was hard to leave it was such a beautiful setting. Completely indoor/outdoor living. Sunsets from the house were a ritual, then dinner and early to bed so we could get up between 5:00 and 6:00 am to hear all the waking jungle sounds. We did go hiking in the National Park but truly saw more animals on the Tulemar property. White Faced Monkey's all over and we heard a Howler or two but never actually saw them. Lots of Sloths, birds and the house Iguana, Larry. Everyone was so nice and helpful, it was the nicest vacation we have ever had. Thank you one and all for an outstanding stay. You know how it is when you see incredible photos of a property and the real thing doesn't approach the photos? Well, this is just the opposite. As good as the many pictures were, we weren't prepared for the spectacular house that was our home for one week. From the moment we entered the front door, we were very, very impressed. The materials including floors, doors, furniture, appliances, etc. were all top drawer. The views...incomparable! The concierge, Diego Morales, made the trip. He was there when you needed him to arrange day trips, make restaurant reservations, provide transportation, etc. He was always available and always had a big smile. Tulemar is a wonderful, safe and secluded setting on a private beach. There's even food and umbrella service at the beach. Bottom line is that it's one of the best vacations our family every spent. It was just much too brief. Two families went to Costa Rica together, 4 adults and 3 teen age kids. There was plenty of room for all and everyone can't wait to return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Tulemar is definitely a little piece of heaven, and I almost don’t know where to start!! We stayed in Casa Las Nubas, and the moment we arrived we knew we had picked the perfect accommodations!! Before even arriving, Howard, the owner of Casa Las Nubas had spent a lot of time on the phone with us; filling us in on everything we needed to know. And we arrived this amazing house took our breath away!! Diego our concierge was waiting with his friendly smile and a cool drink. After already talking at length with Diego and his wonderful wife Vanessa, organizing everything for our 11 day stay, I already felt comfortable with Diego. And by the end of our stay, we felt like their wonderful family were now our friends. As far as Tulemar itself, I don’t think Howard could have picked a better spot to build his amazing house. The staff in the office at Tulemar do everything in their power to make sure you pick the best accommodations to suit your needs. Never once did I feel pressured to pick a certain villa. Del Mar listened to what I was looking for and did everything in his power to see that I got exactly what I was looking for. Our children had decided to plan out our whole day for our 22nd Wedding Anniversary, as a gift and I know my son Cole must have driven poor Del Mar nuts, because he wanted to make sure every detail was perfect. But never once did Del Mar make him feel like he was bothering him too much!! Del Mar even stayed at work long after he should have gone home to get the house ready for our arrival back in the evening. There were roses and candles everywhere!!! Thanks again Del Mar!!! The beach at Tulemar is one of the best assets that Tulemar has. The water was like swimming in your bath tub and the boogie boards made it even more enjoyable!!! It was so nice arriving at the beach and having everything done for you!! They asked you how many loungers you wanted, if you wanted umbrellas for shade and also brought you clean towels. There was also a bar that served drinks and food. What more could you ask for?Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We just returned from our week at Casa Las Nubes in Tulemar. The house far exceeded our expectations. The pictures online really do not do it justice! Everything from the architecture, decor, grounds and amenities were stunning. The Tulemar community is amazing. It is gated, secure with a private beach just a few minutes walk away. The beach is beautiful and all of the beach gear your kids need are right there for your use. Hiking trails and wildlife galore. We saw all kinds of monkeys, sloths and George the Iguana! The staff at Casa Las Nubes was by far the most friendly and attentive that I have ever experienced. We have stayed at other homes over the years and nothing compares to the service we received at Casa Las Nubes. Vanessa handled all of our excursions reservations and groceries list before our arrival. Diego and Bill were at the house daily to send us off to our excursions and in the evening checked in to make sure we were satisfied and make our dinner reservations. We felt like VIP's (the term my 13 year old used)! Chef Chris cooked for us one evening and we were blown away by the meal! He was awesome! We are already trying to figure out when we can make the trip again! The house, staff, community, excursions, food and SERVICE deserve 10 stars!Did you find this review helpful? Our family of 5 stayed at Cas Las Nubes for two weeks from the end of July and had a wonderful time. The views from the house were breath-taking. Just from the house we saw three kinds of monkeys, sloths, a 7 foot boa constrictor, a whale and dolphins (ok, they were specks but we saw them!) bats and a scorpion! Tulemar has rich wildlife and the walk to the beach from the house was fun with the monkeys! The family had a blast playing in the waves on the beach, very peaceful there and the burgers and tropical salad at the beach cafe are the best! Danielle and the bar staff are very friendly and made good cocktails. Diego, Bill and Vanessa were very efficient and well organized, planning trips for us, grocery shopping and making sure the house was in good working order and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the rafting and canopy tours, as well as the visit to the wildlife sanctuary with the rescued monkeys, all arranged by Diego on our request. Chris the private chef was very good although there was plenty of food! The private infinity edge pool was big enough to have plenty of fun and enjoy the views. The house is beautifully designed but the age recommendation is wise as it would be hazardous for anyone under 10! Thanks for a great time everyone and hopefully we shall return one day.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The house, the property and the staff are fantastic!!!! We are all seasoned travellers, but this place tops it all. Diego and his wife Vanessa took great care of us, suggested and organized all the trips and gave excellent ideas for fun things to do. The owner sent us a friendly email with detailed information, fabulous suggestions, hints, and had fruits waiting for us at the house! The house is so beautiful, really one of a kind, the property is marvelous, the staff competent beyond words. We saw monkeys, sloths, birds of all types, and many other animals. The beach is wonderful, and we loved all the awesome bodyboarding. The whole thing was magical and we will never forget it. Simply put: Pura vida!Did you find this review helpful? Treat yourself to this unmatched experience, all the way around! The property, house, staff and private beach are all amazing! Feel the beautiful outdoors from inside your kitchen with the all open main living space. Keep the master bedroom open as well or close up and chill out with the crisp air conditioning. The private negative edge pool offered gorgeous views overlooking the ocean. A+++++ I will definitely return someday!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved Casa Las Nubes. 6 adults - 2 'old' parents and 2 'kids' in their 20's with significant others - spent a week there and loved every minute, from when we walked in and saw the water literally under our feet to the monkeys cavorting just off the balcony (but they never ventured inside) to the great layout of the bedrooms and living/kitchen areas. The service from Diego and Vanessa was exceptional and personal. They were attentive and spoiled us. We didn't even rent a car. The beach service with Daniella and David and Luis was great. The beach food was very good, as were the drinks. We had Kristopher come and cook for us on 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience. I would go back and rent this home or pretty much any of the others in Tulemar that we saw. The views, the service, the house, the beach, the wildlife, all were literally over the top of our expectations.Owner response: Thanks, Kelly, for the wonderful review of Casa las Nubes. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. The villa, the award winning design and the ocean views are really amazing. As you mentioned, the resort of Tulemar, where we are located has its own beach! Lots of wildlife here too! Diego, the house manager, knows the best tour guides and restaurants in the area. Kris, our private chef, is a treat for that special dinner. We'd love to have you back again! Dave Houck Casa las Nubes Tulemar

My friend and I went to Casa Las Nubes for a week get-away and to escape the dreary overcast of Seattle. We were not disappointed. The photos and descriptions on the website are amazing, but cannot capture the shear beauty of this place. Whether I was watching the sunset from the infinity pool in the living room or playing in the waves at the private beach there was always some natural wonder to experience. There were plenty of activities to do in the surrounding area too. By far the best though was the Rafiki Lodge river rafting tour. Going down the river there with class 3-4 (I think) rapids was exciting but not difficult. The guides were great. About half way thought the trip we stopped on a bank and hiked up a hill to a waterfall where we did a little cliff jumping into the lagoon below (only like 20 feet). I think all together we did around 9 different activities in the week that we were there (surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, zip-lining, river rafting, a rain forest tour, hiking, yoga lessons, and an in house massage) so we had plenty to do. The house manager Diego was a great host as well; he set up all of our activities and took care of anything else we needed. It’s hard to adequately describe this place in words. I had read the reviews and seen the photos before the trip so I had fairly high expectations and I was still completely blown away when I got there and actually experienced everything. I will definitely be going back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A group of us went to Costa Rica for my son's wedding, so as the group grew, we had to rent two casas. We were in Casa Las Nubes, and that is the casa I will speak of. From the moment we arrived, until the shuttle picked us up to go back to San Jose airport, our property manager, Diego, and concierge, Bill could not have been more helpful! (Before our arrival, Vanessa also helped us tremendously through emails.) By the end of our stay, we wanted to take them all home with us! The property looks special on the website, but all of us were in awe of it when we got there. Absolutely beautiful, from the pool to the bedrooms, to the views!! We enjoyed the monkeys who visited daily, and there was lots of bird watching to be done. It was nice to have the private beach to spend time at, along with some really good eating places within walking distance (if you don't mind hills). The wedding was performed on the private beach at sunset, and could not have been more perfect. We are all planning our next trip to this great location. People ask me what I liked best, and I'd have to say being in the pool at sunset with a glass of wine, along with meeting our new friends, Diego, Vanessa, and Bill.Did you find this review helpful?
