Why the Owner Chose Maalaea
We chose Maalaea because it is central to the entire South side of the island with Lahaina only 20 minutes away and Kihei and Wailea only 10 minutes away. It is also only about 15 minutes from the airport. We also love to watch the whales when they come to have their young in the winter and Maalaea is the perfect location to view the whales. The beach in front of our unit wraps around toward Kihei where the Turtles go to lay their eggs.
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
The Lanai is only 40 feet from the start of a 5 mile long beach that goes all the way to Kihei. Hono Kai is one of the few complexes in Maalaea that is directly on the beach. Every room in the Condo has a view of the Beach and the Ocean. The Condo has been completely remodeled and boasts all new appliances etc... There is snorkeling directly in front of the complex with a pool also overlooking the beach. Whales are known to frequent the Maalaea Harbor area during the winter months and have their calves. The beach also leads to the area the Turtles go to lay their eggs and nest so great viewing of the Turtles. Most water activities to Molokini, snorkeling, diving, fishing etc...leave from the Maalaea Marina which is walking distance. Not to mention the close access to shopping and resturants in the Marina Village. Maalaea also is the home to one of the largest Aquariums in Hawaii. The Condo grounds are clean and well kept and offer a BBQ area as well as Pool and lounging areas.

My husband John and I just love the sun and long walks on beach so when we started thinking about investing in real estate and where we wanted to retire we couldn't find a better place than Maui. We were married in Maui in 1996 on Big Beach and have returned every year since to visit the island and the beach we were married on. Our whole family loves to snorkle, dive, fish and any other water sport we can find. We hope to someday retire in Maui in our condo on the beach
