We stayed one part of our honeymoon at this condo. It's really a great location, very central for all activities at Maui and really a well maintained, clean and lovely. All needed items for a relaxing vaction are onsite and can be used. As the condo is near Maalaea habour, there will be also the possibility to go out for eating withourt using the car. Also the Maui Oceancenter as well as a lot of cruising tours start there. We would there stay again when travling to Maui.

As a long time user of VRBO to find vacation properties, I would rate this as one of the best values that we have rented in recent years. It met and exceeded our expectaions in every way. The unit is located directly on the beach on the second level in a small (never saw more than 10 other guests) quiet complex on Maalea Bay (the south ishthmus area). This central location was ideal for driving south to Wailea & Makena, northwest to Lahaina, Kaanapali, & Kapalua, and even north to the "city" (Costco!) or beyond to Paia and Hana. The complex abuts a low traffic beach that runs for miles south to Kihei. There is even a freshwater shower and footwash at the top of the steps to the beach. Parking was close to the unit and was never a problem. The unit has been renovated fairlly recently in a fresh and contemporary fashion (lots of Ikea pieces) with a well equipped kitchen, lots of overhead fans, a variety of lighting options and even an air conditioner (although the constant winds and flow-through ventilation configuraton never required it). The large upper level loft is set up with an open bedroom area, a separate bathroom with shower and an adjacent office room with desking and a sleeper sofa. The entry floor has a separate bedroom that opens onto the double-height living room area through the use of sliding louvered doors. The kitchen and a bathroom with shower is also located on this level. A double-height wall of glass overlooks the beach with sliding doors opening onto your private lanai. We spent a lot of time just hanging out on the lania, enjoying the view and endless procession of surf crashing 25 feet away. Jalousy style louvered windows provided for lots of ventilation options. Mechoshades allowed for sun control on all beach facing windows. There is a grassed yard running along the beach with a small fenced freshwater pool, plenty of lounge chairs and tables. There is a beachfront barbeque patio with two new gas barbeque grilles and attractive evening tube lighting strings. The grounds are well maintained daily. The owner has recently added WiFi and we also had strong Verizon 3G service. This has to be one of the best beachfront condo values on Maui.

We enjoyed our stay in Maui. The condo was perfect and was exactly as pictured and described. It was very clean and well kept. We found the location very convenient for exploring the different parts of Maui. The beach directly in front of the property was beautiful for walking. We saw whales while on a walk along this beach. We certainly recommend this to anyone and would look forward to staying here again on our next trip.

I recently vacationed at this property with my boyfriend, his mom, and his sister. The condo was very clean stocked with plenty of amenities (coffee filters! beach toys! extra sheets & towels!) and we really appreciated the updated modern kitchen and bathrooms. The condo really couldn't be any closer to the beach (amazing!) and the view from the lanai was to die for. While the loft style sleeping areas and slotted doors on the bedroom/bathrooms didn't allow for very much privacy, it wasn't an issue for us because we spent most of the time outdoors enjoying the beautiful Maui sunshine. During a morning stroll on our first day in Maui, my boyfriend proposed to me right on the Maalea beach outside the condo. It couldn't have been more romantic and it's an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thanks John & Laury! :)

We have been coming to Maui for 25 years and could not have asked for a better vacation or a better location than this wonderful oceanfront condo in Maalaea. Easy access to the whole island, best whale watching on the island and beautiful, upgraded decor and furnishings. Our favorite part was access to the adjoining beach where we ran and swam every day. The front office was very helpful, the cocktail parties at sunset by the pool were great fun and we had the best vacation ever on Maui. The condo had everything, from movies to hi-def large screen TV with surround sound, books, lanai dining, walk in tiled showers, barbeques, and shopping, dining and groceries within walking distance. I highly recommend this stunning unit. Our thanks to the very gracious and helpful owners for making this vacation so memorable. I will definitely come back.

This condo was very nice and spacious for our family of five! We loved our stay there. It was just as beautiful as the pictures and descriptions. It was very clean and we loved hearing the sound of the ocean at night. There were so many things to do, and wonderful places to eat. Beach Bums Bar-BBQ-Grill & whale watching were within walking distance. The beach was nice too with no crowds. Our kids loved it as well. It was nice coming there after some very busy days to relax and listen to the waves or catch the evening news in such a nice living area. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful condo with our family!

This a great place to stay - above average -- centrally located for making day trips - or just walk downstairs to the beach. If you want beach front - it doesn't get much closer than this - you definately get the sounds of waves all night. The owners very thougtfully have many things at the condo - beach toys/chairs/etc - along with suggestions and directions to things in the area. Really helps the visitor!! The upgrades / remodel is very tastefully done. End unit location with no one above you - but if there are lots of people at the BBQ, the noise might be a little distracting, however there seems to be a "curfew" and you won't be bothered by late night parties. .... The only thing lacking was internet service - very frustrating to not be able to connect - would think a unit at this level/pricing would have wireless provided. Inconvenient to have to go to the small village to pick up a signal. ... If there was a rating between good and excellent, I would have selected it. Great family unit - or perfect floor plan is great for sharing adults.

We truly had a delgihtful time. The desription of the condo was perfect. Not to often do the pictures accuraltey reflect the appearance, other than it was a tad smaller these really did. It was like home away from home. It was a very relaxing place to end a day of touring the island. Then we spent an entire day of laying on lounge chairs by the pool and playing in the ocean. The pictures I took from our room looked just like a postcard, Beautiful!! I would recommend this property to my best of friends. It made for a perfect vacation in paradise. Thank you John and Laury.

This condo was amazing! We loved our stay there. It was even better than what we were expecting, even with the beautiful pictures and descriptions. It was very spacious and clean. Everyone there was very helpful and friendly. We really liked the fact that we were only 5 to 15 minutes away from every tourist town near by, AND only 10 minutes away from the airport! There were so many things to do, and wonderful places to eat. Beach Bums Bar-BBQ-Grill & Mama's Fish House were awesome. UFO parasailing was a great experience. The Trilogy Molikini snorkeling excursion was amazing. And we would highly recommend the Old Lahaina Luau. At the end of the day don't forget to relax on the Sandy beach just a few feet away. We definitely would come back again, and recommend this condo to all. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful condo with our family!

The condo is beautifully decorated and maintained to a very high standard. The rooms are comfortable and inviting, and worked well for our family of 2 adults and 2 children (1 a toddler). We appreciated being able to use the beach gear available in the condo. The location is first-rate. The sounds of waves crashing on shore put us to sleep each night. The winds kept the condo cool and comfortable. The stars overhead were magnificent. Thank you very much for a warm welcome and a wonderful place to stay. We will recommend it to our friends.

The condo is in a great central location. If you have a car it's just a short drive to the rest of the island. If you're looking for a place with a fantastic view on the ocean this is the place for you. It's clean and tastefully decorated. Thank you John and Laury for sharing your condo with us!

To sum up in one sentence, "We never wanted to leave." Like Hawaii, the pictures are NOT indicative of what you get because they just can't do the place justice... I wasn't expecting much after my research on Hawaiian condos. They seemed to go from old and worn out to better than average, with a few diamonds in the rough. This was one of those diamonds. It has a very fresh look, and the loft layout gives more than enough space for four adults (still another double bed to go!) It is VERY well-equipped with little extras we weren't expecting, like ocean toys, coolers and such. The complex is cozy, but still relatively spacious and has a very friendly staff. But we rarely saw another soul unless we went looking for them! The Barbeques were excellent, although we only used them twice, as were the kitchen appliances. Resist the pull of the restaurants and your vacation could be rather thrifty. Some books and movies were left, but we only used the TV once. I 'accidentally' found open WiFi for my laptop, but YMMV. There is a computer with a fax/printer provided as well. The pool seemed a bit small and overly chlorinated, but who cares when this gorgeous beach is only YARDS away! We swam and snorkelled right off of it, with some local fish to accompany us. I was told octopus lived on the small shoal there as well. The sand stretches for miles if you're inclined to walk. The sound of the waves sang us to sleep every night and woke us up every morning, and the breezes and ceiling fans keep the temperature perfect enough that the A/C MIGHT be needed in the summer, but I'd doubt it. Prices are a little higher on Maui, but you're in Hawaii! Don't sweat it. Lahaina and Kihei are 20 minutes drive East or West, with restaurants and activities. Kahului / Wailuku are not much further North, so you're pretty centrally located. The Maui Aquarium and a mini-golf is up the street. I'd highly recommend: A) BEACHES! Especially in the morning before the wind hits. B) Snorkelling / Diving. Especially Molokini. We went with Maui Dive Shop. C) The Hana Highway to Oheo Gulch. Stop OFTEN. Wear your swimsuit. D) Sunrise at the summit of Haleakala. I wasn't as moved by this, but still worth it. E) Get out of the car and WALK a little. The World gets left behind... F) Day or two trip to Lanai. Rent a jeep. Off-road a little. Hike to a beach. You'll probably be alone. John and Laury were VERY nice to deal with. Unless you're looking for a resort to cater to you, you can't go wrong!

John & Laury's condo is a gem... strategically located between all the key places on Maui and is a stress free distance the airport! The condominum complex is well taken care of and obviously loved by the friendly people who live there. The condo is a highly prized end unit with an orientation that allows for a pleasant breeze to cool you off after lying in the sun or listening to the surf while drifting off to sleep at night. While there are lots of fine (and fun) dining places and shopping spots on the island a few of the same are located just a short hike from your home away from home. This really helps when you're tired out from all the fun you've had that day and don't want to venture back out too far (there's even a great fast food joint and a convenience store located up the road). And finally the nearby harbor is the launching point for many (if not all) of the wonderful ocean tours offered on the island. The only thing we couldn't get was a pizza delivered to this location but with our Safeway supermarket value card (highly recommended for savings) we could make our own in John & Laury's awesome kitchen topped off with a lovely walk along the beautiful shoreline after dinner! Aloha until next time.

The condo was exactly as described and even better. We stayed here in March 2010 and had an amazing time. Not only was the condo the best one on the property due to owner renovations, but it was directly on the ocean. You can't get away from the sound of the ocean crashing if you tried. During the time we were there we could watch whales from the lanai. It is a great location, between Kehei and Lahaina, close to everything but far enough away to relax. Two great restaurants on the same street and very close to the harbor for snorkeling and whale watching trips.

This is the best VBRO property we have stayed at.The two storey windows facing the ocean are the best. From every room in the condo (including washrooms) you can see the ocean. Location is great as the area is quieter than some of the other areas in Maui.Kitchen is very well equipped. This unit is my dream home.

Jacquie and I spent Xmas and New Years at this beautiful condo and would highly recommend staying here. The condo is beautifully decorated inside and the view from the lanai is breath taking. Being right on the beach was extra special for walks in the morning and at night time and for watching the sunrise and sunsets. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for letting us rent your beautiful condo.

We absolutely loved the Condo. It was very clean and updated throughout. The location was great, we could get to all parts of the island pretty quickly. We loved looking out to the Ocean and fell asleep listening to the waves at night. We have 2 kids and they loved playing at the beach right outside the condo. John and Laury were great to work with and we really appreciate being able to have access to your wonderful condo. We want to come back again next November but are planning 2 weeks next time.

Lovely condo. And you are right on the beach. Comfortable beds, great kitchen, excellent overall facility. Clean, neat, plenty of towels. We like being in the middle of the Island as it's an easy drive no matter which direction you go. If you have young children, the wave action at Maalea is quite strong right at the waterline compared to other beaches, so just be aware of the undertow when getting in and out of the water. Thank you Laury and Jim for making this available. I'd recommend this unit to anyone.
