This quaint area of Jerusalem was the first area to be built with private finance outside the Old City. The property has just been renovated to a fine standard and retains much of the style in which it was built 160 years ago. This central location allows you to visit so many places of importance and entertainment by foot. The Old City is about a 7 minute walk away through the new and beautiful Mamilla Mall filled with fine shops and restaurants.
Across the road is Independence Park which takes you up to Nachalat Shiva and Ben Yehuda Street pedestrian malls, and Machane Yehuda market is a 15 minute walk away and a short bus ride where you can buy your fresh produce for the day if you don't want to go to the supermarket down the road which is open daily until midnight.
Sit out and enjoy your breakfast on the balcony overlooking Hamaaravim Street, enjoy the air and soak in the special Jerusalem atmosphere.

Amazing find...a real jewel

The apartment at 12 hama’aravim street is amazing!! We had high expectations coming in and it exceeded out expectations by far. This is one instance where the apartment looks better in real life than in the pictures. The living room area is beautiful. It is open, light, and airy and, while it is completely modern, it has the feel of an old time traditional Jerusalem home. The upstairs bedroom with en-suite bathroom is very comfortable and spacious (with great closet space). It is really great also having a downstairs bathroom. The amenities were perfect. And to add to all that the location is fantastic – just minutes walking distance from the Old City!!! Finally, the owner was wonderful and attentive –always very helpful, responsive, and flexible. She did everything to accommodate our needs in terms of arrival and departure times. This is a real a jewel and we hope to stay there again!

We were very pleased with the apartment and especially with the owners who were extremely helpful. The facility was great and the location excellent. The only negative we found was in the "street" accessing the unit and the stairs. I suspect the "street" will be improved as soon as the adjoining Waldorf Astoria Hotel is completed.

We spent 2 nights in this beautiful apartment. The tile floors and architectural details were very interesting and added to the charm. The rooms were clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated. The street is tucked away on a beautiful little side road. It is exceptionally easy to walk anywhere from this apartment, from Old City to Ben Yehuda. There is a convenient food market just down the street. Sharon, the owner, was a pleasure to do business with. She is pleasant and responsible and wants to make your stay a successful experience. She clearly take pride in her work. I would recommend this apartment or any other that is owned and operated by Sharon.

We had a wonderful stay over Succot. The Succah was located right outside our door and the apartment is beautiful with old world charm. This house was truly a home away from home made even warmer by the apartment owners.

We took this apartment for six weeks during the summer of 2010 and we just loved it. The location is superb -- not only close to the Old City, but a very short walk to the outstanding restaurants and cafes at Mamilla Mall several world-class hotels and great Jerusalem neighborhoods. With a supermarket just up the street, and a nice park across the street, it was perfect for a long stay for our family. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. With the master bedroom upstairs, a bedroom downstairs and a couch in the family room that becomes a bed, the layout of the apartment was great for our family of five. The landlord couldn't have been more accommodating and nice. The pictures are very accurate as is the listing for this apartment. We would definitely recommend this property to others and will look forward to returning ourselves.

Sometimes I find myself in situation that really challenges my English-writing skill. Mostly that is one I need to express level of excitement I've experienced. Talking about our stay in Jerusalem at this stunningly spacious apartment - one of such challenges. Staying, not, living at this place gave us opportunity to walk more and drive less while visiting all places that we have planned. And no guide will give you the same feel of the city, its citizens and their life like what you get walking, shopping with them, living next to them. Even if for few days. So, take it, experience it! Come to Jerusalem and stay in its heart - close to the Old City, City of David, close to Ben Yehuda. Will we be coming back? Most certainly ...

Our two week stay in this terrific apartment has just come to a close. We were sorry to leave our comfortable, convenient Jerusalem home. While the apartment is in a building 150 years old and has the charms of stone arches and a very high vaulted ceiling, all of the appointments are completely up to date with newly renovated bathrooms and kosher kitchen, along with wifi and cable TV. The furniture is tasteful, modern, and comfortable. I always like to travel light and love the convenience of a washer and dryer in an apartment. This feature turned into a life saver when we were soaked to the skin in a very dramatic Jerusalem downpour. The apartment is a 15 minute walk from the Kotel, and both the Center for Conservative Judaism and the Jerusalem Great synagogue are within 5 minutes walk. There is a super market up the street and Ben Yehuda street is only 7 minutes away. 20 minutes away are the charming restaurants and shops of the German Colony and the incredible open market in Machane Yehuda. A similar walk takes you to the Israel museum area. There just couldn't be a better location or setting for getting to know one of the world's great cities.

Just returned from staying here and it was great. We have young children and the central location was great as we were very close to the old city, Ben Yehuda street, Rechavia, etc. The owner was very helpful and responsive when we needed anything. Parking was somewhat a challenge, but manageable. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. A definite thumbs up.
