Literally step off the front patio and you are 12 feet from the sand. You can see the ocean from every room in the house. There is a swing set right out front on the beach and a manned lifeguard tower most summer days. You are walking distance to both Hermosa and Manhattan Beaches downtowns, which have award winning restaurants, shops, nightclubs and live entertainment venues. If you need groceries no need to drive anywhere, there is a classic Italian Deli/ Grocery store and liquor store/market 1 block away. Three car garage (two used for parking currently) plus a guest parking pass offer plenty of room to park your vehicles. Gourmet kitchen, with White Corian counters, Viking Range, stove and oven, Large Sub Zero freezer and Refrigerator. Huge beach level game room with Bar, lots of seating, large high definition flat screen TV and vintage billiard table. Three separate outdoor entertaining areas, a patio on the beach level with Gas BBQ, and two wide and deep decks on the 2nd and 3rd floor offer excellent outdoor living. We are located just 15 minutes South of LAX, take a taxi and you really don't even need a car. Once you arrive you can walk or ride bikes very easily to get around. IF you wish to venture out into Los Angeles you are basically within 26 miles of virtually everything. Staples Center (LA Lakers/concerts/LA Kings) 14 miles, Disneyland 26 miles, Knotts Berry Farm 22 miles, Hollywood 17 miles, Marina Del Rey 10 miles, Beverly Hills 14 miles, Queen Mary/Long Beach 10 miles... Boogie Boards, Surfboards, Bikes and Beach towels are waiting for your arrival. Ideally located walking distance between the Manhattan and Hermosa Beach Piers, with very convenient access (1 block) to support retail, and located on a sought after South Facing Corner Strand lot. Sit and relax on on the patio, second or third floor decks and enjoy forever views of the Pacific Ocean, Palos Verdes Peninsula, Catalina island, Malibu and Santa Monica Mountains, endless Sunsets, dolphins playing in the ocean, pelicans flying by, and healthy, active, fit people playing on the edge of the continent. Purchased in 1978 by Bob and Viva Stroyke (long time real estate brokers) to raise their two children and grow old in; this elegant home was the focal point of annual Fourth of July parties for over 26 years and countless beach days. Bob and Viva's philosophy was that if you could live where all the kids wanted to play, you could spend your years watching your kids have fun and know who they are playing with. This home is full of love and has a great energy about it. It's an ideal place to come vacation and just relax.

This is a beautifully-appointed luxury home and one of the nicest on the Strand. The house has been in the loving ownership of the same family for over 30 years, and it shows. My family (Mum, Dad, Grandparents + two teenage sons) stayed here for a week over Christmas 2011 or which the owner had taken the trouble to completely decorate the whole place with the most amazing collection of vintage decorations. The family, who still live a few blocks away, are well known in the community, and offered lots of advice on local amenities and made themselves instantly available should the need arise (it didn’t). Equidistant between Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Piers (the fluttering Stars and Stripes is a landmark) there are stacks of everything in walking distance. Our favourite for breakfast was Martha’s – 10 mins along the Strand to Hermosa. We were on the beach too much to make use of the pool table, but the garage full of bikes was an essential facility. If, like us, you are prepared to pay premium rates – but in return expect a first class, immaculate, high end product and service – then you will not be disappointed with this rental which totally lived up to to all our expectations.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
