Absolutely perfect week in Rome

This review is two months overdue, but the intervening time has not dimmed our enthusiasm for Marco's apartment! We (a couple) had a dreamy getaway in Rome, with the apartment as the ideal home base between our busy nights and days. The apartment was perfect in every way -- charming, roomy, and with a location that could not be beat. The AC kept us cool during a hot week in Rome. Be sure to go to Roscioli, just on the other side of the Campo di Fiori, for the best spaghetti carbonara you'll ever eat.

We Loved our Roma vacation in Marco's flat

Thank you Marco for the use of this no frills quant apartment in the historic medieval courtyard. Also, we really appreciate how relaxed you were about the final details & our limited ability to contact you once we arrived in Italy. Appreciate your having Daniele greet us with the key. He ended up becoming our friend & we have already exchanged emails. I walked most mornings to the cafe' for cappuccinos to bring back to my husband & Jane, and daily the piazza market where bought veggies & herbs, and happened upon the most charming waiter of our entire trip. Often people would sit on the steps next to our front door at night. The young kids would come from the pub down the street which we called the "Baby Bar". For the most part they didn't bother us at all. However, If I were to rent the apartment by myself (which I hope to do if I end up taking the intensive language course offered by UNM's Rome program) I would take a pot of water and just throw it on the steps wetting them down so that no one would want to sit there. Also, expect tour groups to bring folks through the courtyard, and we learned that the venue was once used in a film The Discovery of Heaven. We Loved how centrally located our flat was to all the historic cultural sites and we walked everywhere; the Spanish Steps, Vatican City, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Tiber River & Tiber Island. A trip of a lifetime. Mille Grazie!

My sister & I stayed at Marco's apartment in early October, for 7 days. Since this was out first VRBO, I was nervous and bugged Marco to death (sorry about that). The property is exactly as pictured. It has a nice kitchen, small patio, washer (just don't wash any delicates in there), clean & in a perfect location. We were able to walk everywhere, and I do mean everywhere! Everything on the map looks so far away, but in reality, you walk a block or two, turn the corner & there you are. We never did get to meet Marco, however his partner was there to greet us. There was a misinterpretation on my part, about the payment. We brought the balance in Euros instead of dollars. With the value of the dollar so poor these days, we wondered why anyone would want them. But, it's his property, so bring dollars. From Termini Station, the cab driver had no problem finding the place. Although how he did it is beyond me. Just tell him "Campo di Fiori" and he can find it. There is a market a few blocks away, where you can pick up staples, such as milk, eggs, bread, etc. However, there's a fresh market every morning in Campo di Fiori, which is right around the corner. We picked up fresh produce and meat several times and made dinner back at the apartment. Make sure to have dinner at least once there, if for nothing more than to people watch. Piazza Navona is a 5 minute walk away. Plan to visit there at night, where you can pick up some beautiful paintings, at very good prices. The only problem with noise we had was some teenagers sitting on the steps outside the front door. I flipped the outdoor light on and they left shortly thereafter. One caution. Guard the door key with your life. It's one of those old, heavey skeleton keys, that you can't get copied at your local hardware store. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment & it's location makes it a great base of operations for exploring Rome.

Adorable apartment, fantastic location, really comfortable. Great art and decor, made me want to redo a few rooms in my house! Slightly musty so we had to leave on the AC since there weren't really any windows that we could open, but we got used to it easily and had a very comfortable stay.

What a charming, lovely place to stay. We absolutely loved the location in Acetari. The corte is quiet, yet gives a taaste of local living. The apartment itself is immaculate, and its compact size was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed the tiny patio, or the dining room table for eating small meals of lucious fruits, meats and cheeses from the Campo di Fiori--which is just steps away. The furnishings are modern and comfortable, and Marco is very helpful. We would love to return to this apartment someday--even the thunderstorms are lovely, here.

Marco, Your apartment is wonderful! My wife and I had an amazing stay in Rome, and it was great to find the comforts of "home" away from home. We loved the location - Campo de Fiori is literally 30 seconds away. We were worried that being so close would mean a lot of noise, but the private courtyard made for quiet nights. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, and if we're ever back in Rome, we'll certainly stay there again. If anyone's looking for a great place for a couple, this apartment is the place to stay! We were in Rome for 5 nights, and the apartment allowed us to eat breakfast very inexpensively at the nice dining room table (usually bread, jam, and cheese). After a long night of sight- seeing, we either came home with pizza from the place next door (which has great pizza, by the way) or we showered and went out to Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, or any of the hundred other great places to have an amazing meal within walking distance of your place. Again, we had an amazing time. Thanks!
