Casa Boronda is a Historic Adobe that sits on four fenced oak studded acres where families, friends, and guests can become enthralled with California's history. In 1817, Manuel Boronda built this adobe house, assisted by Indians and friends. It was one of the few houses at the time that was located outside the presidio walls but within walking distance of the Royal Presidio Chapel.
Today, when we refer to the "Boronda Adobe", we need to keep in mind there are three "Boronda Adobes". This is the original one, which is located off Fremont St. with the entrance on Mesa Road. It is in excellent state of preservation, restored and updated and used by the community for celebrations and special events.
The grounds are breathtaking and peaceful. The main home consists of 1600 square feet with full kitchen bedroom, dining room, that seats 10, and a comfortable living room with 42" flat screen TV and wood burning fireplace.
Each room opens onto the enclosed courtyard with a fountain, rose garden and sitting area. This area is in the noted Monterey sunbelt and you can enjoy wood and distant ocean views. The guesthouse consists of a double bed with flat screen TV and bathroom.
Two twin blow up beds will be provided on request.
This is a legacy property and you will feel the magical uniqueness as soon as you drive through the gates. Don't miss out on the first opportunity to be able to stay overnight in this historic masterpiece.
