Casa Boronda is a Historic Adobe that sits on four, fenced, oak-studded acres where families, friends, and guests can become enthralled with California's history. In 1817, Manuel Boronda built this adobe house, assisted by Indians and friends. It was one of the few houses at the time that was located outside the presidio walls but within walking distance of the Royal Presidio Chapel.

Today, when we refer to the "Boronda Adobe", we need to keep in mind there are three "Boronda Adobes". This is the original one, which is located off Fremont St. with the entrance on Mesa Road. It is in an excellent state of preservation, restored and updated, and used by the community for celebrations and special events. This area is in the noted Monterey sunbelt and you can enjoy wood and distant ocean views. The grounds are breathtaking and peaceful.

This property consists of three separate buildings; the main house which was built in 1817, and two separate guest houses. The main home consists of 1600 square feet with full kitchen, bedroom, dining room and a comfortable living room with 42" flat screen TV and wood burning fireplace. Each room opens onto the enclosed courtyard with a fountain, rose garden and sitting area. The first guest house consists of a queen bed with flat screen TV and full bathroom (shower stall). The second guest house has a queen bed, large closet and full bath with a shower over the tub. Two twin blow up beds will be provided on request.

Adobe occupied a real place in early California history and has great historic value and architectural interest. Casa Boronda is truly a house for children, grandchildren and friends. They can move between the indoors and outdoors and transform oneself into California history. The adobe estate lives, breathes and serves as it did hundreds of years before. This is a legacy property and you will feel the magical uniqueness as soon as you drive through the gates.
