Location: Red Hook, Hudson Valley, New York, USA (Just South of Twin Lakes)
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 2 Baths (Sleeps 4)
Keywords: House
This is our only rental house and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. We’ve done it up with designer furniture and great details. The 5 person hot tub provides for great outdoor enjoyment during spring, summer, and fall as does a very private camp fire location in the woods.
The house is on 4 wooded acres at the end of a dirt road. Stay in for quiet seclusion. Or... enjoy the great restaurants, antiquing, and outdoor activities in the area.
The house is designed to be open with large windows and glass doors overlooking the woods. Feel like you are outside while being in the comfort of a newly renovated and tastefully decorated home.
We are routinely told that the pictures don't do the place justice - photographers we are not!

We had a great time here and felt lucky to find such a beautiful place nestled in the woods. The property has great natural light, lay out, siting, and is spacious--perfect for 2-4 people The kitchen is well supplied with cookware and bakeware, for those of us with holiday cooking projects! Overall, very comfortable, with special detail--picture windows and overall well placed windows with views of the woods, claw-foot tub, high quality sheets and towels. We were particular fans of the radiant heating in the bathroom floors! The caretaker is super helpful too. Highly recommend and plan to go back!

What a great house! We were four--two couples and a baby--and there was plenty of room. The floor-to-ceiling corner windows made all the difference, as the views are lovely. Great bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living room, deck... We'll be back! Thanks so much, Eric et al.

This house is truly a great place to stay. The renovation is really well done. It's modern yet comfortable, stylish but not precious, and country charming in just the right way. It's like staying at a cool friend's well-equipped house, not a "vacation rental." The main room is very spacious and the view of thick woods is absolutely lovely. The wide deck is like a second living room and a great place to have meals. At one point during our stay we had 4 adults and 2 toddlers and it did not feel too crowded—the 2 bedrooms/baths are are on opposite sides, making for quiet and privacy. The house is convenient to Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Tivoli, Hudson, Lake Taghkanic, and towns across the river, but tucked away just enough away to ensure pleasure drives on country roads. The house stayed cool during a very hot week, we really didn't need the AC. And the hot tub is terrific. The owner and caretaker are very friendly and accessible. Can't go wrong, book it.

Reading the previous reviews, I had high expectations for this rental. I'm happy to say that even my high expectations were surpassed. This place was perfect. The location is great, we enjoyed going out everyday and exploring new areas (Hudson, Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, Catskills.) And it was nice to come back to the rental and spending time relaxing at home. Very stylish inside, deck and hot tub were divine, and it's nice and secluded so we felt like we had the entire area to ourselves. Thanks again Eric! We would definitely come back again.

Too much stuff

We stayed in August for three days with our two kids and found the place a bit too secluded for our taste. It takes 45 min with the car to the next supermarket and the Twin Lake near by was not very clean. We also felt that there was too much personal stuff in the house. The closets were full with personal clothing and every little surface is full of books or other little things, so that we ended up leaving everything in our bags. On the bright side, we loved the view and the light, but didn´t realize that this also meant no curtains and since it was summer, we all got less sleep than we hoped for because we are all not so good at sleeping in broad daylight.

The house was simple, stylishly decorated, and cozy with beautiful views. We loved everything from the huge windows, and the open kitchen, to the toasty heated floors. The location was very convenient, close to the towns of Red Hook & Rhinebeck, hiking, and the perfoming arts center at Bard College. The owner(s) were accessible by phone and very helpful during our stay. Overall, this was the perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend away from the city & we hope to go back!

On first glance, the house wasn't much to look at - a one-story matchbox at the end of an easy-to-miss private road. But this place delighted us as soon as we stepped inside. The main room is surprisingly airy, and exquisitely decorated, with big picture windows that make you feel close to the woods around you. It's a great space to be lazy, reflect, and breathe fresh air. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We decided to take a trip to Hudson valley semi-last minute and were disappointed with some of the hotel offerings in the area, most of which were already booked anyways. I happened to find this house searching on VRBO and felt it was a much better alternative - turns out it was, and exceeded our expectations. It was a pleasure coordinating the details with the owner who is very prompt in his responses to your inquiries and as a bonus, is hilarious. Makes it such an easy process. We loved the house - immaculate, great decor/aesthetic/details and very comfortable. It feels like the country house you have always wanted. The outdoor hot tub was fantastic. We loved hearing the wind through the trees, stars at night from the deck, heated floors, slick coffee table books, huge windows, and the bonus of a washer/dryer. Very helpful recommendations provided by the owner for things to do. I was practically kicking and screaming when we had to come back to the city, but I can say with confidence that we will return. Thanks! xo

A quiet getaway with comfortable furnishings

My group of four enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet getaway after the crowds at the fairgrounds. We enjoyed the hot tub and the only sounds at night were the rain and leaves rustling in the wind. We saw a doe and two fawns pass through near the deck on Sunday morning. The heated bathroom floors were toasty. The layout was open and airy, lots of natural light, and tastefully decorated - simple/no fuss. I liked finding all the small touches that showed a lot of the owner's fun personality (pie-in-the-face-painting made us all laugh when we entered the home). The owner was very responsive to a lot of inquiries before we came (especially since we rented it with only a week's notice!) The kitchen was well-stocked -coffee maker, dishes, silverware, pots, pans, serving ware, etc. - no microwave or dishwasher but we didn't mind. This is a great alternative to a hotel/motel/commercial one-room rental; we all appreciated having the larger space to spread out.

My husband, 4 year old daughter and I just spent a wonderful 4 day fall getaway at the house and it was just lovely. The home is beautifully decorated and has some great art, but wasn't too precious that we couldn't relax without watching our curious daughter every minute. The location was secluded and outside of town. When you looked out the walls of windows, all you can see are trees. So peaceful. Very close to the town of Red Hook & Rhinebeck, and a little further to Hudson. But all very manageable and scenic. The owner had great recommendations for dining and activities and was super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend with 2 big thumbs up! :-)
