What a wonderful little place we found in Samara- Safe beach, fun waves, family atmosphere, all the services, friendly folks. We also enjoyed the pool here- many thanks to the crew for keeping it sparkly clean. (And thanks to Chester for accompanying us to the beach to keep an eye on us & our stuff.) Lovely kitchen and great lounge chairs really helped me to feel at home. Thanks to Colleen, Nick, & Mike for all your efforts to keep us happy here. Laurel & Rob Canada

Thanks for letting us use your amazing condo! We had an amazing time in Samara. We took in many days on the beach, by the pool, & a few nights out on the town. The view from your condo is beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sunsets in the evenings. You truly have a little piece of paradise right here! We definitely hope to be back again. Sadly, we now must return to the snowy & chilly weather in Canada. Cheers, Carly & Mike

We had an amazing time! Thank you for letting us use your place as home base. We were traveling with 15 sixteen year old boys. We spent a lot of time exploring the Nicoya Peninsula. Playa Garza, Playa Guiones, and Playa Pelada to name a few. Sunset there was beautiful. They (The boys soccer team) played matches against teams in Nicoya, Esperanza, & Samara. Such a great experience for them all. We hope to return soon. Pura Vida!

Thanks for letting us use your amazing condo. The views from the windows are just stunning. We loved exploring the coastline & visiting all the small communities. We enjoyed dining at Leyenda in Puerto Carrillo. Our experiences in Costa Rica have been great. We hope to come back again. Now we depart and head back to New York and return to our chaotic lives. Cheers,

It certainly was a pleasure to arrive here. All the comforts of home kept us happy. Carolina brought the chairs & things. Coffee on the balcony every morning was pretty special - the coffee trays on the chairs were a nice bonus. We enjoyed our dining experiences in Samara. For such a small community they have wonderful cooks. Fabulous mussels & seafood at El Lagarto (We had to go back again.) Coco’s was another one of our repeats; great skewers, fresh fish…could go on & on. Pizza was great every where. The pool was a refreshing dip after a day at the beach. My grandson perfected his ability to swim (5 years old) as a result of great times in the pool. Zip lining at Wing Nuts was a blast. The 5 & 8 year olds wanted to go around again. Great for all ages & the family running the business were the best. Back to cool down in Canada!

We decided to roadtrip from San Jose Airport which I do not recommend since Costa Rica has no street signs once you leave the city! A GPS is a must if you choose to rent a car. As we drove into the tiny streets of Playa Samara we were in awe of its beauty. The condo is nestled in the hillside overlooking the entire beach and countryside and it is absolutely breath taking. If you travel to Samara you must adjust your self to the slow pace of true island time because it will envelop you. We had full access to a private pool (we visited during the low season so we had the place all to ourselves!) and the beach was a two minute walk & great excersize on the way back up the hill! Chester ( the guard dog) hung out with us most of the trip and guarded our belongings while we splashed in the waves of samara beach. The condo is a perfect location, just off the beach but close enough to walk to everyplace in town. Restaurants and bars are so delicious! We recommend the gorgonzola chicken dish @ Casa Esmeralda and Tabanuco which is right on the beach. We also experienced Wing Nuts Canopy Tours in Playa Samara which is a must and we drove to Diria Coffee Plantation which was great to learn about some culture while visiting this beautiful country. Unfortunately we didnt make it to Isla Chora to snorkle due to the bad weather. It rained every day at about mid day. If you visit during the low season make sure you take advantage of your sunny days when you have them! It was so hot and humid everyday. Unfortunately we had to sleep on the pullout couch because the AC in the bedroom was broken. Showering was also difficult due to fluctuating temperatures. The place was a little too quiet for our preference and there were not too many people who spoke english to help us out. Good thing we did a lot of research before we traveled to this secluded town! Some days we cooked and dined at the table which over looks the ocean and other days we went out. The best part was how safe we felt day and night in Samara walking around and strolling along the beach. Nonetheless, we had a really great time. What a great place to vacation. I would recommend this condo to others who are independent, willing to be adventurous, love privacy, and love gorgeous views from their room.
Owner response:Hello Ryan & Valerie, Sorry about the bedroom air conditioning. it is very difficult to get things repaired in a timely manner in Costa Rica. We are glad you enjoyed your time in Samara. Please come again. Best Regards, Joe & Mark

My wife Denise and I spent eight wonderful days in this beautiful condo durring the 1st of August 2011. The staff was extremly friendly and helpful. The condo had all the modern amenities that one could ask for. The view from the balcony is probably the best in all of Samara. We enjoyed yoga classes by the beach, kayaking to the island in the bay, and the many fine restaurants in town. This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica, and this condo, and the town of Samara is the best place we have stayed. We will definitely go back again soon.
Owner response:Hi Bob & Denise, We are glad you had such a wonderful stay. Please come back soon. Best Regards, Joe & Mark

Once we arrived at #4 , we knew we had made the right choice. The condo is located on a hill right smack in the middle of one of the prettiest sites one can experience. From its wonderful view overlooking the Pacific Ocean, to the high end amenities which had us not missing anything from the states, this is the place to be! The weather was perfect every day, the Pura Vida experience was engulfing us immediately. Within walking distance of dining, the beach, and shopping, we were set! And the wonderful infinity pool with water fall, it was hard to leave as well. Many things to do, will never do it all in one trip. We adventured to Avenel, one of the nicest beaches anywhere, and dined right on the ocean where waves came up almost to our table, very romantic place to be. Close by we adventured on zip lines up in natures canopy, to be amazed with even more wonderful views of nature from high up in the trees. Friendly people, and 24/7 caretakers at condo made for very safe, friendly, and comfy feeling. Great place for fishing, surfing and just plain “beaching it”! Just a question of how soon we return, we loved it, and thanks so much for allowing us to share your small slice of heaven! It was a wonderful experience for us, one we will not forget! This gorgeous Condo was my home for 4 weeks in November 2009 when I took a language course in the Samara Language School. I spent a fabulous time in this wonderful flat and strongly hope to get back soon again. It’s a little outside the village but can easily be reached by an approx. 5 min. walk along the beach or along the main road. The view from the living room and balcony is just breathtaking and perfect to enjoy most romantic sunsets…or for the early birds to watch the sunrise too. The Condo is completely equipped and I highly appreciated the luxury of having even my own washing machine. Although I was part time on my own, I felt perfectly safe and was taken good care by the guardians as well as their ‘watchdog’ named Chester. The pool is convenient but there were no parasols or any other possibility to shelter from the sun. If you happen to go have the chance to spend some time in Samara, don’t forget to bring a strong anti mosquito spray along – the largest size you can find. You’ll need it!
Owner response: Hola Irene, We are glad you enjoyed the condo & Samara. We recently purchased some pool furmiture so your next stay will be even more enjoyable. Joe & Mark
