Enjoy the spectacular view from this charming and comfortable home nestled at the base of Neahkahnie Mountain. You’re high enough to watch passing whales but only about three short blocks from the beach.
An upper and lower deck provide plenty of space to lounge, read a book, or entertain. Four bedrooms sleep 8. Two bedrooms with queen beds are on the main floor and provide easy access, one bedroom with a queen bed and one with twin beds are downstairs on the lower level. The fully stocked kitchen makes meal preparation easy, and barbequing on the deck with the gas grill is always a great option.
The comfortable living room and dining area are the center of activity with picture windows on one side and a wood burning fireplace on the other. Downstairs features a family room with view of the beach, fireplace, and television with DVD player.
Whether you choose to walk the beach, climb Neahkahnie Mountain, or just hang out on the deck with a book and binoculars, you will love the location, love the view, and love the relaxation!

We were planning to vacation at Cannon Beach. Some friends recommended Manzanita instead. Now we would stay in Manzanita as our top choice! It is much quieter, yet has the natural beauty, and amenities (grocery, restaurants, etc.) that we enjoy and is only a short drive to Cannon Beach. It is also situated nicely between Astoria and Tillamook if you want a fun day trip. The kids loved running on the beach and flying kites straight down from the house, so we spent most of our time there. Bring your camera! This house was fabulous! The kitchen was well stocked for gourmet cooking, and the grill was great for the salmon we caught. In the cool evenings, we would relax by the fireplace. The beds were comfortable, and sleeping with the window cracked open was quiet with only the sounds of the water and nature. We were a little skeptical about being 4 blocks from the water, but it was uphill and the views are absolutely spectacular. In this town, staying a few blocks from the water may be better than staying next to it, especially if you have a view! Thanks! If we get back to the Oregon coast, we would love to stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Really nice view from living room and two bedrooms...well furnished home...nicely appointed. Hot water issue when toilet is flushed is fairly easily fixed with new shower fixtures. Really enjoyed our stay...would go again next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was the perfect home for our family reunion of 3 generations; our family slept in the two bedrooms downstairs (and enjoyed the family room with TV downstairs) while the grandparents used the two bedrooms on the main floor (to avoid stairs). We found the house to be exactly as shown in the pictures with all amenities mentioned in the description. We were also pleased to find that in addition to the ocean view from the deck and living room windows, one of the bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs also had ocean views. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed, including binoculars! It was extremely clean, well cared for, and comfortable. The owner was very friendly and responded immediately to every email. In addition to walking the beach (and spotting several starfish at low tide), we also hiked part of the trail up Neahkahnie, rented kayaks on the river in Wheeler, and visited sites up and down the coast. We would definitely recommend this location to other families, and hope to return again ourselves!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a really good time at this house. We vacationed with another family. The way the house is set up, we each got a separate floor. This worked out great. The house owner was really nice and very responsive and timely in our communications. The house is close to the beach and very, very quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. And the best part was that the house was very, very clean and well kept up. We look forward to future vacations in Manzanita.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: My wife and I are native Oregonians with a passion for the beach and watching whales! There is nothing better than hanging out at our beach home and enjoying the many beach activities from long walks to crabbing. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Why the Owner Chose Manzanita:
The Neahkahnie and Manzanita area is a special jewel on the Oregon Coast; beautiful, off the beaten path, and benefits from more sunny days than the surrounding area due to the protective effect of Neahkahnie Mountain. We think it's simply the best place to be! 7 miles of spectacular beach!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The beach goes for miles and we have found numerous sand dollars and other shells. Nehalem Bay is a large estuary area that is great for kayaking, fishing, crabbing and boating. If you like to surf, windsurf, or kiteboard, walk out the front door and enjoy. Oswald West State Park, 3 miles to the north, is a spectacular crescent shaped cove and beach that is only accessible by walking in about 1/4 mile but is work the trip. Best surfing for miles around. If you like to hike Neahkahnie Mountain offers a moderate difficulty and a stunning view! It is the highest headland in North America, don't miss it!
