The apartment looks exactly as on the pictures - it includes all that you need from a vacation rental, even ice chests, beach chairs, towels, floating devices etc. It is 10 min walk to the supermarket using a beautiful local park path. What you cannot tell from the listing is how well the apartment is maintained and how pleasant the view from the lanai is. The owners are also very nice and we'd definitely book the apartment again.

This was the perfect get away spot on the north shore of Kauai! On the golfcourse and walking path down to Anini Beach, we couldn't have been better located for the money. The room was delightful for two and quite large for just one, with a living room area and a dining area and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was very cute with both a tub and a shower. Judith and Sally are the best hosts providing everything you might need from a toaster oven, coffee maker, nice sized fridge and a microwave to beach chairs and a cooler for beach picnics! The lanai off the living room is wonderful for sunrise or sunset, enjoying your morning coffee or relaxing before turning in for the night. I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone wanting a great value in the most beautiful spot on Earth!
Owner response:Aloha Chase and Bianca, Thank you so much for the wonderful review, we aim to please and would love to have you come back anytime. Mahalo, Judith and Sally

In a small, tired complex (from the 1970s?) of 1 and 2 story buildings (vacation rental and residential mix) with no property manager. Hence the note from the owner: “Everyone in Paniolo is supposed to quiet down at 10:00 PM so hopefully you will have a peaceful stay.” Yes, hopefully you will have better luck than I did. The sidewalk was slick with mildew in some areas. Although you may be assigned a parking spot, there are two numbers on some and it was really a free for all. This unit was dolled up a few years ago. It is in a ‘tri-plex’ building and is less than a studio. There is no kitchen area, just inexpensive dressers with kitchen equipment in and on them. All the dish washing occurs on the one countertop in the bathroom. You are given a sponge and one towel for drying. Give that northern Kauai is almost always damp and this unit is in a treed area, nothing dries out on its own. The backs of the placemats on the table were dirty. Bring ear plugs and an eye shade. Right outside of your ‘bedroom’ window is a wooden, open staircase that people clomp up and down on and where a light is left on all night. You also hear a lot that goes on the units within this building. No land line, no wi-fi. The bed is only full sized. There was a noticeable mildew like odor upon entering that never went away. The odor came from some unidentifiable location in the 'living room' and there was mold on the bottom of the lightweight tab top curtain for the slider. I swept cobwebs off the wall behind the platform bed which does not have a headboard. The rug next to the bed had to be shaken out. There was slimy black stuff near the rim of the bathroom sink. The cold water handle leaked and caused a slime on the tile and grout that I tried to clean off. The shower head shoots water out the side if you try to adjust it and there is no light inside the shower. The first morning there I was in the bathroom getting ready to meet a friend. I heard someone trying to get in the door to the unit and nearly had a heart attack when the door opened. It was the next door neighbor who said she had found my keys. After a while we realized they must have been left sitting outside by the cleaning crew or owner. So much for safety.
Owner response:I am very sorry to hear about your unfortunate trip to Kauai. I wish you would have contacted us about your concerns so we could have helped.

This unit is exactly as pictured, very clean and well stocked (beach mats, chairs and towels, dishes, silverware, glassware etc) . Located in a quiet resort area that is a short drive or nice walk to the Princeville Market where there is a grocery store and several shops. Just a 5 minute drive to Hanalei where there are several great restraunts, shops and another grocery store or about 35 minutes to Kapa'a. Quick drives over to Anini Beach or Tunnels for great snorkeling, great hikes nearby are Sleeping Giant or Ke'e Beach (a great 2 miles but go the other 2 miles up to the waterfall for a fantastic workout with beautiful rewards!). A great unit for a couple who want to experience the island and just relax. Mahalo Judith and Sally for providing a great place for a very reasonable price! The Martins Odessa, TX

This was the perfect place to stay! Very central for the North coast - there is an inexpensive grocery store within a few blocks with great bagels. Close to Hanalei Bay, good restaurants.... The nearby beach is not the nicest one, but a morning hike there was a great way to start the day! The bed is comfortable, it is quiet (no roosters waking you up, which is a lot to ask for in Kauai). You won't regret staying here.
Owner response:Thanks. We are very happy we could be a part of your wonderful vacation on Kauai. Judith and Sally

My husband and I were very pleased with this cute studio! It was perfect for us since we both like the simpler things :) It was pretty quiet while we were there, and we loved the cool morning breeze. :) Judith was very kind and helpful to us! We really enjoyed our stay here and will be recommending this to everyone who wants to visit Kauai.

We came back to Kauai 8 years after our honeymoon where we rented a home just out of Kapaa. We happened on this little gem while looking for places to rent on the north shore this time. Perfect for the couple looking for a relaxing place to land in the evenings after days exploring the island or lying on the beach. Though you can walk to the beach, you'd be better suited to jump in the car and hit Kalihiwai Beach...very quiet, better sand...great beach. Also a must, in Anahola Town, check out Duane's Ono Char Burger and in Kapaa, the Kountry Kitchen; both places are amazing. Note: You may want to bring ear plugs because, though the sound of the tropical birds, wind, and rain is amazing, the local rooster is somewhat challenged when it comes to time orientation and begins cockadoodling at like 130a. If you are coming to Kauai, stay here. We will be back.
Owner response:Hey Jared I wanted to thank you for your review. Good advice on the ear plugs as the roosters are all over Kauai and many people search the stores for ear plugs which are not always available at Foodland.

We happened upon this sweet place to avoid camping in the rain. As frugal travelers we were thrilled to find this place that was homey, safe and ideally located for activites on the North Shore. Our last minute booking was well received by Judith and she accommodated our every request. The description and photos were right on. It was cleaner than a whistle and well maintained. I would recommend their property to any friend or relative. The fact that it does not have any sort of ocean view was never an issue. We began the day with waffles made in the toaster oven- adventured on the beaches until the sun went down - then returned to a place that felt like home to recharge. Don't forget to visit the local Thrift shop on the road to the Lighthouse!

The condo is well-maintained and in a very convenient neighborhood for the gorgeous North Shore of Kaua'i. The owners have thought of many helpful touches like beach chairs, towels, a cooler, and dishes/utensils. I'd give it 5 stars, but the bathroom door is difficult to close and the upstairs neighbors were a bit noisy. We would definitely rent the studio again. We had such a terrific vacation!

I was extremely pleased with the quality of this beautiful Princeville condo rental. It was a very beautiful, well equipped, clean unit with an outstanding view of the golf course and the Na Pali mountains in the background. Wonderful value! Could have cost much more than what I paid. Will definitely try to rent the same unit in future visits to the island.

I'd like to echo much of the praise already written in this book. We appreciated your warm, welcoming aloha in so many of the thoughtful touches you provided your guests: Yummy cookies, refreshing water, and wise advice. We also appreciated Karen, the next door neighbor, who was also so warm in her welcome and rich with Kauai history. We love the location and color of your beautiful condo. Mahalo! Looking forward to returning, Aloha, Tara and Charoltte Minneapolis, MN

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this perfect abode in which to plop! Fresh air, comfy bed, foliage, crunchy toast, hot coffee, purple beach towel, a kick-A$$ blow dryer... the list goes on and on... I snorkeled at sunrise at Queen's Bath... No one there! Water beyond very calm... (I paid attention as advised.) Packed up and headed to Hideaway and continued snorkeling. A great day! Just finished coffee sitting on a rock watching sun rise at Wylie - all ourside my door!... Mahalo. Susan

My now wife and I came to Kauai to get married. We had never been to the island and had no idea what to expect. We were so incredibly surprised and happy with this condo. It has everything you need to have a great time. We cooked almost every meal at the condo and ate out on the deck that sits on the golf course. A short walk and we were at the beach and a short drive away from everything we needed. The best part of the condo though was the owners. They made our stay a truly special experience which we appreciated so much. You will love this condo!! We did. :)

Judith, you are the Aloha winner! Hello Judith, Hope this message finds you and Sally well. After a couple of weeks of reflecting on my visit to the 4 major Hawaiian Islands, I experienced a great deal of aloha from many Hawaiians. But you were the hands-down winner of showing me the most aloha, and it really wasn't close. I want very much to return to all 4 islands that I visited but I think Kauai and Hawaii were the islands I'm most eager to get back to, with Maui being a close second. Oahu is a place I didn't get to see a great deal of, but I was overwhelmed almost immediately by the big city atmosphere (and lack of public parking) in Waikiki. Also, meant to tell you that the shower at your condo was the best by far of all that I had the opportunity to experience. Again, great thanks and..... Aloha! Joe

Hi again Judith, Just wanted to thank you both for your hospitality and for providing such a great base for us on our trip. The condo was fantastic (as were the treats!), and we really enjoyed the little bonus amenities(coolers, blender, towels, etc)and the awesome location. It made us feel completely at home. We especially enjoyed slipping down the path to the deserted beach, and nights in Hanalei. You have a great place, and we thank you for sharing it with us. We will be back, and will definitely look you up again(and send others your way)! -Genie and Jeff
