Private Home, 3 Bedrooms + Living Room and Loft with oversized couches. 2 Baths.

Property quietly nestled in the heart of Charleston's downtown historic district.

Although the house was fully restored to create a modern, convenient and comfortable living space, the building's original spirit remains intact. This three bedroom, 2 bath home is nearly 2000 square feet of living space with two levels. The living room with its elegant antiques speak to the era of the old house, yet its compact gourmet kitchen is thoroughly modern and is only part of the amenities that await you. The feel is unpretentious and comfortable, yet elegant.

Located between other homes of the same historic period, this lovely home is within walking distance of everything...restaurants, King Street shopping area, The Battery.

The city of Charleston is home to several excellent restaurants and shops, as well as numerous antique stores, museums as well as other attractions. Charleston is also home to supermarkets, corner and drug stores as well as an art movie theater. The historic town of Savannah is just a two hour drive and is also home to many shops and restaurants as well as historical sites of interest.

This is a wonderful and exceptionally convenient property near many of the best restaurants in Charleston (walking distance!). The house is spacious and very European in its lovely decor. Everything is effortless as the house is so well organized. Perfect for two couples, or a girl's vacation, or with children. The tall windows and french doors throughout the house will give you an airy feeling, and the front porch is a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and look at the palms. The house sits at the end of a dead end street too so is very quiet and private.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners.

We just spent a week in this beautiful 1850s era house at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, and it could not have been a more enjoyable experience. Our group consisted of college roommates getting together for a long weekend, then after that we had family visit from the Northeast. Everyone was impressed with the spaciousness of the house – the house is larger than the photos depict. The house is tastefully furnished and so welcoming, with updated kitchen and bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable, as is the entire house. Each morning we’d have coffee out on the front porch – a lovely way to start our day. The owner was so accommodating to all of our questions and needs – couldn’t have been sweeter to work with. We were even welcomed by the next door neighbor, who provided interesting history of the area and the houses on this particular block. Everyone was so helpful! The house is within walking distance to anything you might want to see in Charleston, so we did not use our car for any sightseeing in town. This was a positive experience for all of us, and I would highly recommend this house rental to anyone visiting Charleston.

This is a wonderful historic, old home( beautifully maintained with updated kitchen and baths) on a charming street within easy walking distance of great shops, restaurants and sightseeing. We found the beds to be incredibly comfortable and the entire house very relaxing. It was the perfect base for a week in Charleston. The owner was very nice and easy to deal with. I didn't want to leave!

This house is in an amazing location and is absolutely beautifully restored! The photos do not do the space justice, it is so lovely. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful with all inquiries and was a sheer pleasure to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking to spend some time in the historic district in a charming and comfortable space.

This is a lovely house in a perfect location - within walking distance of the entire city of Charleston. It is a perfect place from which to explore this charming city. The photos accurately depict the property - and everything for a wonderful stay was included in the house. The kitchen is very well equipped. The owner was very helpful and prompt in responding to inquiries. Definitely would recommend to other travelers wanting to spend time in the area.

The house: In good shape and is set up nicely for a multiple people. It has a great kitchen table and a lovely courtyard with an adjacent porch. There is some strange artwork including a baby playing with a gun in its mouth and a huge portrait of Jesus made out of bottle caps. A few of the beds had some bugs in them and the towels and sheets had to be rewashed before they could be used. They smelled of mildew, which could be as expected due to the humidity in Charleston. Location and parking: Good location, just a short walk away from the heart of town. Note: despite what the post says, there is not really street parking off of the ally on Queen because you need a permit to park beyond two hours. The owner: Given the reviews we found much of the following surprising and disappointing. Due to a little misunderstanding she had guaranteed the house to two different people for the same week. Although the owner didn’t deposit the 2nd person’s check she was disingenuous over email leading them to believe they had the house until we pieced it together that we were “renting” the same place and confronted her via email. Small world but my family and my best friend were trying to rent the same place for my wedding weekend. Over the course of our stay the neighbors asked us to slow down a couple of times. We never were going over 10 miles an hour and there is not speed posted. None the less, each time, we apologized. This led to the owner visiting us, along with one of her friends, on the last day of our rental…which happened to be the day after I got married. She was so mad she could barely talk in full sentences and kept on pointing to my father complaining he was being condescending and smoking. I explained that he has severe dementia and again we apologize if he offended her…this did not seem to matter one bit and she continued to complain about his attitude. We also explained that although he only smoked outside, we were happy to forgo the security deposit. This did not suffice and she continued to berate my mother and I for over 20 minutes. Bottom Line: Good house, ok amenities…very hard to deal with owner who, on the day after my wedding, was down right rude without being able to articulate why, beyond the minor speed issue, leaving a very sour impression.

Owner response: I am very pleased that you liked the house, courtyard and the location. Regrettably the humidity in Charleston during the time you stayed can attract a few insects. If there were any issues that needed attention I wish you would have contacted me and I would of taken care of anything immediately (as you can see from the other reviews). The house at no time, under no circumstance was double booked. Numerous people expressed interest for the same weekend. I corresponded to all inquiries. Once I received the rental agreement from you, I contacted all parties to notify them it was rented. At no time did I accept a rental agreement or payment from anyone other than yourselves. The house is decorated with antique furniture and art work from established local, national and international artists. Had I known you found any of the art disquieting I would have gladly placed the pieces in storage during your stay. There is dedicated off street parking for one car, and a second space was provided for you. Since you did not mention you would be bringing more cars, no additional parking was provided. Much more regrettable however was during your stay I received numerous complaints from the neighbors - a first for the house. Complaints started immediately upon your arrival and included (but were not limited to) excess speeding which you mention in your review. After a number of incidents and a close call with a neighbor’s dog, the neighbors called to say they were very upset and had tried to talk with your family but you dismissed them. They also stated these and other problems continued to persist. Ultimately this led the neighbors to calling me again asking me to intervene. Upon arriving we found members of your party smoking which is in direct violation of the rental agreement. This was more disingenuous in that it was clear before signing the contract there would be smoking on the property. Unfortunately on bringing these issues to your attention and restating neighbors concerns, we were met in the same manner as the neighbors described. It is highly unfortunate during your stay these issues were so disruptive. If I understood your needs better I would have referred you to a house situated in a more rural setting that allowed smoking as well as larger groups instead of a property located in a quiet and charming neighborhood in downtown Charleston.

We stayed here for a week prior to checking our son into CofC. The house was exactly as described; very spacious, lovely furnishings, renovated kitchen with excellent appliances, and a homeowner who could not be more gracious or helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you CB!

Beautiful home in great location. We were a family of 6 adults staying over Thanksgiving weekend. The house is more spacious than what you can tell from the photos. There is an exquisite long wooden dining table perfect for large group dinners. Owner was a pleasure to deal with. Quick in responding to questions and returning security deposit. I highly recommend this rental.
