Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2006
Mary and Al live about 35 miles away from Thompson House in Bentonville, AR. We enjoy outdoor sports and travel.
Why the Owner Chose Fayetteville
We purchased and remodeled this house due to it's proximity to the University of Arkansas. We enjoy walking to Razorback football games and watching game traffic pass by as we relax on the deck. We also decided to buy the house as a project to learn how to remodel a home...we have a lot of sweat equity in the house so we hope our guests will treat it with the same TLC as their own home.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Walk to the University, particularly home Football, Basketball & Baseball. Easy access to Dickson St. entertainment area including the Walton Arts Center. Close access to Fayetteville's fitness trail - a paved and lighted trail which is great for walking, running or cycling. The trail is about 16 miles in length with access to Fayetteville Mall and Dickson St. area. The deck is great for being outside and the carport area can be used if it is raining.

We had such a great time staying at the Thompson House! We rented the house for a football weekend and enjoyed every minute of it! The house is very clean and comfortable and is beautifully decorated. The location is very convenient to the campus. Al & Mary are wonderful hosts and they made sure everything was perfect while we were there. We highly recommend staying at the Thompson House while visiting Fayetteville. We will definitely be back!!

The house was perfect for all of us gals to get together and play in our old college stomping grounds. The house was well equipped and very clean. We loved having the back carport and deck to chat, laugh and enjoy the fall weather. Fun to be on the front porch and watch folks walking to the game - we even saw one of our old college friends, that we had not seen in 30 years, this way (what a wonderful surprise). We had plenty of room and felt the hosts were so hospitable. We also have a home on vrbo so it was nice to rent from someone who has a house like we do. We have already told Al we will be back and for him to tentatively hold the house for us each Fall. We had a fabulous time and I think one in our group is looking into coming back in January and renting again. thanks again for the great place and memories - more to add to the photo albums.

The house was more than we could have asked for. It was very clean and nicely remodeled. It had all the amenities that you could hope for. It’s a very short walking distance to the University for game days. The owners are a very nice couple. They even stopped by on game day and visited with us for a little while. If it was not already occupied for the next home game, I would have reserved it before I had even left that weekend. I would recommend this house to anyone.

We have stayed at the Thompson House in Fayetteville four or five times in the last year. We love it! It's a warm and cozy place, very well equipped and as clean as could be. Every time that we have stayed there it has been immaculate as we walked in the door. And, you cannot beat the location, right by the Arkansas Campus. Al and Mary are great hosts. They are easy to work with and they bend over backwards to make every stay perfect. We have always been thrilled with the house... that's why we stay there whenever we're in Fayetteville! It's a five star house... if we could give it 10 stars we would!
