We rented this apartment for a family vacation. The apartment was immaculate and so homey, just what we needed for everyone to gather and spend time. The West Portal area has so much to offer...from the muni stop right outside, to a fabulous view of the city, as well as shops and great restaurants within walking distance. The owners were so accommodating and pleasant. I would recommend this property highly for anyone staying in the bay area!

My three sisters and I stayed in this home for ten wonderful days. It exceeded our expectations - very clean and well-equipped. For the size of the house, it was a fantastic bargain! The garage was a nice bonus, as we rented a car to visit Muir Woods and then drove to the wineries in Sonoma (an excursion I would definitely recommend). If you're planning to remain in the city throughout your visit, however, don't bother renting a car. The Muni stops at the corner and couldn't be easier. Get a Citipass and enjoy unlimited public transportation. I would most definitely recommend this rental to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

First we are French so please apolozige for our unperfect English. After a trip in 2 national parks and a long car way along the Pacific coast; we did appreciate this spacious home for our familly (3 children & us) in a calm place. The beds are confortables and the kitchen is perfectly fitted for preparing any good meals. While the house is not in dowtown, it is located near bus and street carst allowing to reach the main neibourhoods of San Francisco rather quickly. Moreover the owners are so kind. Sincerly Kina & Laurent

We had a wonderful time staying in this home. Everything you could possibly need was within a few easy blocks. The location of the home is perfect. We would walk to West Portal for meals, to the Safeway on Taraval for food, and hop on the street car for transport. It could not have been better. The kitchen was also very well equipped and the bed linens looked brand new and were luxurious. We were able to fit both cars (Honda CRV and Nissan Sentra) in the garage which was also a plus. The view would be magnificent but it was overcast the three days we were there. I would definitely stay here again. Everything is as shown in the photos. There were no surprises.

We had a great time in San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed our time in this home. The house was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. It was great to have a garage to park our rental in and it was easy to get to all of our destinations. We even used the BART to get downtown and it was very convenient. We fell in love with the West Portal area and loved all of the little shops and restaurants. Fabulous and convenient location! We loved staying in your home.

Our experience was fabulous -- flexible management, ease of access, LOVE the MUNI right out the door -- perfect for our family to relax after some long days in San Fran. SO GLAD we had the room to stretch out given the summer rains -- far better than a hotel, the kids didn't go crazy or sent anyone else there! Clean, clean, clean. We will be back.

Found VRBO.com on recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed. Property proved to be the best living arrangement for our family and far superior to a hotel room. Listing accurate, location and views superb, very timely communication with owner and price was excellent. We WILL stay there on our next trip to San Francisco and have already recommended the home to friends traveling to the city.

This spacious 3 bedroom home is located in the quaint neighborhood of West Portal. The home is clean and well maintained, and is very spacious. The views of the Pacific ocean are amazing! This home has it all, a private garage, private laundry, and a large master suite. If you are planning on visiting San Francisco this home is perfectly located close to everything! Parking is never an issue! We will definitely be returning to this beautiful west portal respite again! The owner are easy to work with and made our visit smooth and very comfortable! We can't wait to return!

Between the outstanding views of the ocean, Parkside and West Portal neighborhoods, and the L-Taraval Muni Metro outside the front door, this place is pretty close to the ideal San Francisco 'Avenues' rental. Roomy and open in the living area. Firm mattresses, chairs with good lumbar support. Great skylights in the bathrooms, hall and the well appointed kitchen. Guerra's butcher shop with all their Italian specialty meats is steps away. Safeway is two blocks. The Parkside Farmer's Market with great produce and Mediterranean specialty items around the corner on Taraval. We enjoyed West Portal restaurants Fuji for sushi, Fresca for Peruvian, and Xiao Loong for Chinese delivery. L-Taraval light rail gets you downtown subterranean to Market Street very quickly. And the views from the living space. Wow! We usually like to have coffee, fix breakfast then see the city, maybe do fine dining and club music. In this house we spent quite a bit more time relaxing and enjoying the view. Then going to Guerra's for Italian sandwich to eat in line for events. Great rental! Great people to deal with.

Sparkling clean, soaring views, and ultimate convenience made this home perfect for our stay. Our family of 4 plus 2 other family members stayed here, and the space was fantastic. Beautiful living room, great full kitchen made it easy with our 2 small children. Everyone had their own space. The neighborhood is super charming. We rented a car, and were able to park in the garage. Margie and Evelyn were wonderful to work with, and we'll be renting again when we visit San Fran next time! Loved also that the MUNI stopped outside our door!

Very Nice place to stay in SF. The Muni L street car stops right in front of the house. No need for a car. Safeway grocery store is in walking distance. View of the ocean. Nice home to gather with friends. Neighborhood exceeded our expectations. There is nothing like SF neighborhoods in the US. You will find Margie most helpful. She takes a personal interest in her guests and is willing to go the extra mile to see that her guests have a great stay.

My family & I were traveling with some friends to San Francisco, 7 in total. I knew we didn't want a hotel & in searching for an apartment I came across this lovely apartment in West Portal. From the very beginning the owners were wonderful and very helpful. When we arrived we were not disappointed. We could not have found a more fabulous place to stay. The apartment is very spacious, really comfortable beds with all linens needed, 2 great bathrooms lots of hot water, kitchen was well stocked with all utensils, literally a home away from home for us. What a perfect location, 2 blocks away a Safeway open 7am to 12am, little fruit market open at 7am with amazing fresh fruit & a little bakery across from the Safeway "Victors Bakery" open at 7am really yummy baked goods, there is also the town of West Portal a couple of blocks further with shops, restaurants & another food store. For transportation (get yourself a 1 day, 3 day or 7 day pass which will allow unlimited travel on the Muni, Cable Cars & Buses) the Muni & Buses run right in front of the apartment. The Muni is wonderful it will take you to any and all connections you would need to get around the city, we were traveling a long way & were determined to do & see as much as we could. It was a full week of activities & we managed to do them all: Farmers Market, Muir Woods, Pier 39, Cable Car Tour, Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, Bike Tour across the Golden Gate Bridge, Haight - Ashbury, Winchester House, China Town, Yosemite Park, Lombard Street & Twin Peaks. Our last two days we rented a car & again the apartment had a garage for the van so that we could do a day trip to Yosemite. San Francisco a wonderful city to visit but I must say being able to rent this lovely apartment with such gracious & accommodating owners made it that much nicer. We had breakfast every morning at the apartment & on our first night there dinner (Safeway 2 blocks away to get supplies) & maybe one other night. Having the apartment & being able to get up & have breakfast, go over plans for the day & then to be able to walk out the door & there is the Muni that would take us where ever we needed to go. At the end of yes very long days to be relax talk about our day watch some T.V.have a snack before climbing into a very comfortable beds for our next days adventure. Wonderful view, with the fog & our hours we finally saw it our last morning Many thanks your apartment was wonderful and so was our visit.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this house. The location was great and was just a few steps away from the MUNI. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the house was just as described on the website. Margie and Evelyn were fantastic to work with and were very professional. We would definitely recommend staying here.

There were four of us and the apartment was comfortable and the bedrooms were roomy. The apartment is sunny and clean and has a beautiful view of the ocean. The garage was convenient, although a different arrangement would have to be made for a second vehicle because a residential sticker was required for on-street parking. The only real drawback was the sound of the Muni trolley passing by, but we got used to that and it didn't interrupt sleep. Just a short walk away was West Portal, a street with good restaurants, groceries, and coffee and bagel shops, as well as a movie theater. A short distance the other way was a Safeway store, a supermarket open late into the night (possibly 24 hours) and early in a.m. It's a relatively quick trip into downtown San Francisco by car or Muni. The apartment was also affordable and we would recommend it to others. The owners were both helpful and were quick to respond to any questions.

I rented this home for a group of colleagues from Shanghai who came to San Francisco for a three month training course at San Francisco State University. My experience has been universally positive: the owners of the house are very caring and accomodating, the location is convenient, safe and comfortable, and the house itself is practical, well equipped and rich with character. This is an ideal option for visitors looking for reasonable accomodations in an area of San Francisco that is often overlooked. The views of the ocean are fantastic, and being only blocks from the very quaint West Portal shopping area is a big positive. All-in-all this rental home has been an ideal solution for a somewhat challenging accomodation request.

We stayed in the house for 8 days, and it was lovely! The house was spacey, clean, and have all stuff needed for living from cooking to laundry! The owner are very friendly and helpful, and had prepared everything for the guests! The L-Taraval trolley is right outside the door which makes it so convient to anywhere in SFO. There are plenty of shops around the house, from Chinese restaurant to supermarket (Safeway). One could see the ocean from the house! I would recommend to anyone who would stay from a few days to weeks! It will be our first choice when we come back to SFO!

We rented the West Portal house for a long weekend and absolutely loved it! The views were incredible, the house was cozy and spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for a group of 8. Plus it is within walking distance of West Portal...a quaint part of San Francisco with cute shops and restaurants (a tip: try Que Syrah for wine and Roti for Indian Food). Thank you, we're looking forward to coming back again!

We rented this home for a 3-day weekend and had a wonderful time. The owners are great -- they are responsive, flexible and super nice. West Portal is a nice neighborhood -- a bit off the beaten path for most tourists, but we prefer staying in an area that's more a genuine neighborhood. We took advantage of the spacious garage for one day by renting a car but did fine the rest of the weekend without. The Muni train stops right outside and it's a quick ride to downtown. There's also easy buses north to Golden Gate Park and south to the airport. Lots of restaurants w/in walking distance and a market one block away, a supermarket one more block. We had 5 adults and one toddler -- the 3 bedrooms are spacious (plenty of room for a crib) and comfortable. Lovely views west towards the ocean and kitchen was quite well-equipped. The decor is quite nice, but definitely 70s era (for better or worse) -- the whole West Portal area was built later so don't expect an old Victorian house. The one downside of the handy trains is that the whole house rattles as they go by (particularly the longer trains during the day). Still, there's fewer trains in the evening (and none overnight) so it didn't bother us. Recommended!

We stayed at this property for a weekend and it was exceptional! Fantastic views, excellent space and very comfy beds (thank you down comforters!!). Plus, its proximity to public transit stops, grocery stores, and West Portal make for easy access to the whole city. Definitely recommended over any hotel.

Our week at the house gave us the extra room we needed for our visiting exchange student. The location was convenient and central. The house was roomy and provided everything we needed. The descriptions in the ad are accurate. This house gave our exchange student the full San Francisco experience, from the foggy mornings to the rumblings from Muni. This is a great house if you have children.
