Our unique beautiful beachfront villa has a large pool with a spacious outdoor terrace and an overlook tower with spectacular views of the ocean and our own private sandy beach. The house is a comfortably furnished older beach house. The villa's main floor has a large open living/dining/kitchen area. The covered terrace overlooks the pool and has amply seating and a large table for outdoor dining. There are two queen sized bedrooms on this floor, each with their own private bath. The separate lower living area has a king size bedroom with a private bath and a twin bedroom with it's own private bath. The house may not be suitable for very young children due to the fact that the lower level is only accessable from the outside, not from the upper level. The mattresses in all of the bedrooms have been recently replaced and the bedding updated. The bedroom curtains and lamps have been refurbished as well. All of the bedrooms have A/C. We have just added a very large outdoor charcoal BBQ.
Price includes; full maid service, a caretaker/maintenance person, a security guard, all within a secure walled compound. A private chef is available for an additional $45 (US) a day, plus the cost of food. There is 24/7 electricity.
The villa is 5 minutes (by car) from Cabarete, 15 minutes (by car) from Sosua, and 20 minutes (by car) from the Puerto Plata airport. It's a 20-30 minute walk to Cabarete. A car is not absolutely necessary, however, we recommend that clients consider renting one. The villa is east of Cabarete, near the Parasio Tropical Hotel (formerly the Sea Grape Hotel). Cabarete has several grocery stores, and a wide variety of restaurants and bars for all tastes and budgets.

Why the Owner Chose Cabarete
We looked at a number of islands in the Caribbean before we purchase this property. It was love at first sight! The area is not over developed but has plenty of potential, it attracts young and vital people from a variety of countries.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
We love walking to Cabarete via the beach. Also, if you walk easterly from our villa there is a lovely little beach bar/restaurant that serves simple, delicious fresh fish.
Owner's Map of Cabarete
We are currently living and working in the Washington DC area and eventual plan on retiring to our island retreat.

Honestly, I cannot imagine staying at any other place. The house was wonderful. Judy, Luis and Lee-Lee were fantastic and talking with Shirley the owner was fantastic. I came here directly from Iraq for my R&R and went back refreshed and renewed and with such a positive mental stay for the remainder of my tour. I owe it all to my stay at Villa Harty! The beach was very private and pool was amazing. I had friends meet me there and we all plan to make additional trips. In fact, I have friend In Santa Domingo that want to come up and stay because of the wonderful time we had and our positive experience with Shirley and her staff. Of course I recommend this to everyone. 5 Stars!

We just returned from Cabarete where we spent vacation with our kids and grandchildren. There were 6 adults and 2 children. The home was the perfect size for our group. We spent 5 of our 8 night vacation at this lovely villa. It was wonderful! The pictures can't truly capture the beauty of the property. The layout was wonderful, especially the very large covered patio that we practically lived on. All of the staff were great. We used the chef for several meals and were pleased with the service. The villa is very private, and yet still right on the beach. Just walk through the back gate down a short path through a lovely tree grove and right onto the beach. We enjoyed the location, but you do need to drive if you want to get to the neat little town of Cabarete (about 5 minutes by car). Can't wait to return. We are all talking about going back and spending more time there. I wish we would have had at least a week there. Two or three would be better still. I can't think of any complaint, except that if you're picky about your pillow, you might bring your own. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Just wanted to thank everyone for a fabulous week of relaxation. Lile, Luis and Franscico spoiled us during our stay at Villa Hardy. The guys caught 26 Wahoo & Mahi Mahi on there fishing trip and the girls had massages. Luis hooked us up with a wonderful guide, Andy with Mel's Tours and had a great time horse back riding on the beach, Blue Lagoon, waterfalls, and other beaches.

Just come back from a great vacation , this house, the team , the location everything just add up to become to be one of the best vacation ever. A month a go while looking for a place we were kind of worry about safety going to the DR and also had some special requirement such as a good internet connection . After review many of the option on Vrbo we called Shirley and from the first conversation everything start to get better and better - we got a lot of helpful information that help us to get the best out of out time in the villa and more then this everything that we been told was very accurate . place was very safe and we used our computers and phones all the time - its was so great to sit and work while listening to the wave of the sea 50 feet away. The house is not new but kept very well and was perfect for us. The house is very clean as well as the pool and we had a great time. there is a gate from the pool yard that open to a magical path of tropical trees and in 2 minutes the beautiful Caribbean sea is in front of you We did a lot of walking on the beach and it felt like a private beach almost no peoples - so great. We will highly recommend this villa to anyone and we hope to be back maybe in the winter !

I want to thank Shirley and Peter for allowing us to stay in this villa. I went with 5 friends June h to the 20th, As soon as we were driving to the villa we noticed that a lot of hotels nearby had closed, so we did not know what to expect on our drive down camino del sol, but as we arrived at the Villa we were greeted by a smiling face (luis) the care taker. He took our bags and as we walked up the stairs we were in awe. Let me tell you the pictures due no justice to this place. The pool was clean and huge, The bridge was a place we sat and chatted a lot on . The rooms were kept neat A/c never went stopped working. The place was awesome, We made so many memories because I went with friends all from different states , As we spent time together, We bonded . We were like a big family. We cooked breakfast every morning, the maid washed the dishes as we geared up to go sightseeing , Cabarete is a beautiful place Ive been ther 3x but it was my friends first time, They want to return and already looking to return by november. The vacation was more than i expected, The place was very key to getting all my friends together who never met each other to bond, If ever you come to cabarete stay here!!! Why pay for an all inclusive when you could have a place all to yourself and go out to eat when u dont feel like cooking. The food in the rest. are pretty reasonable. Well not enough can be said. Thanks Shirley and Peter. You guys were awesome. We will rent from you again without hesitation.

I just wanted to give everyone a quick review on the villa. We stayed here for 8 nights end of January, beginning of February. There were 4 of us in our late 30's early 40's staying here. First thing, make sure you book through Shirley directly and not some other site. I orginally was working with a website called dominicanvacationproperties. Something was not right about the deal and to make a long story short it was a scam and I almost gave a deposit before I got in touch with Shirley directly. The home and yard are great. The home is getting older but if you are self sufficient, and don't need 5 star, this place is for you. The kids would love the pool and the whole yard is protected from the ocean winds in the evening by a small forest in front with a short 1 minute trail right to the ocean. Luis the gardener was great and very attentive to anything we needed fixed. The house was kept clean by Lile and I even came home to clean laundry a few times which was unexpected. We were always safe with security all night and Luis there all day! Everyone in the entire area knew Luis! It is right next door to the Paradisio Hotel so you have access to any of the tours available. The villa is located about 10 minutes east of Cabarete. This is the DR so remember some mosquito spray. I did not find them bad but during the night you would get the odd one so a bit of spray in your room at night would always help. Every morning you would wake up to the sounds of the ocean, grab a coffee and go relax in the lanai! Then eat some breakfast and head down to the beach before the trade winds pickup later in the afternoon. Once the wind gets up the waters are busy with surfing and kite boarding. Make sure you negotiate hard with the vendors (Number1 and Elvis) on thier goods and you WILL run into them...everywhere! They GOT me!!! The local excursion guy Andy was great and helpful but again, shop his prices!! We found all of the excursions, cigars, and jewelery cheaper in Cabarete so it was a learning experience and of course they are always "give you the best deal today". All in all we would stay there again and I would reccommend the place for sure. Thanks Shirley!

We stayed at the Villa for a week this January and are already thinking about a return trip. While the weather was not ideal, this house more than made up for it. The staff - Luis, Francisco and Lily - were extremely helpful and friendly and went way beyond our expectations. The Villa itself is unbelievable - it's like having a private oasis all your own. We have rented several times all over Central America and the Caribbean, but this house tops them all in terms of value, location, privacy, service, and sheer style. We can't wait to return.

My wife and I stayed at the Harty villa in October 2009. It was a pure delight. The place is private, secure and conveniently located. Great for walks on the beach, hitting the nightlife, or just chilling out. The pool is to die for. We would definitely go again.
