Welcome to Island Escape, our family's beautiful, waterfront vacation home. We're located on a quiet, mid-island, cul-de-sac with a spectacular view of Estero Bay, a private pool, and beach access just a five-minute walk away.
At Island Escape, you'll enjoy all the comforts of home for less than the price of a hotel room. All rental space is on the second level of our home, offering great views of the pool, patio, canal, and Estero Bay. If you'd like even more space to spread out, for a small addtional fee you have the option of also renting the lower level during your stay. (We do not ever rent out the lower level separately.)
We take great pride in the cleanliness of our home, and all our mattresses and pillows are encased in bedbug-proof coverings.
We inspect and refresh our linens, dishes, and other housewares frequently to make sure our home feels as welcoming to you as it does to us.
When you stay at Island Escape, here's what you can expect::
Bedrooms:
Master bedroom: king bed with memory-foam topper and designer linens, private bath with shower, walk-in closet, ceiling fan, and plasma TV with DVD and cable.
Aqua bedroom: king bed with memory-foam topper, ceiling fan, huge closets and a TV/DVD unit w/cable.
Island bedroom: 2 twin beds (which can be joined for a king size bed), ceiling fan, large closet, TV/DVD and PS 2 game system for the kids.
The newly remodeled main bath is quite roomy, and features a Jacuzzi tub and mood lighting for the ultimate relaxation experience after a long day at the beach or pool.
Living areas:
The open floor plan enhances the sunny, airy feeling at Island Escape. The kitchen, dining room, living room and alcove connect to a large lanai area with floor-to-ceiling windows, where you can seat 4 around a glass and wicker table.
The lanai area offers an outstanding view overlooking the private pool, canal and Estero Bay. Our kids love to eat on the lanai, which is also a great place to enjoy morning coffee while watching the sail boats glide by in the Bay.
Our home was recently remodeled and furnished (new appliances too) with a huge leather sectional in the living room to relax on while watching a favorite DVD or cable TV on the large-screen TV. The alcove provides a quiet place for working or sleeping with a desk, love seat, easy chair, and queen-size sleeper sofa with a 4 inch thick mattress.
A door leading from the alcove takes you out onto a private, open balcony with a bar-sized patio set to take in the fantastic view of the bay. In the morning you might even see dolphins or manatees in the canal.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all the appliances, dishes, pots & pansand utensils you'll need, and the dining room table seats 8. Whether you prefer to prepare a gourmet dinner or munch on microwave pizza, the grocery store is just a few blocks away. All linens, bath towels, and beach towels are provided, and there is a washer and dryer on the pool level for your convenience.
Need to do a little work or check in for your flight? Our home is equipped with a high-speed internet connection and laser printer; just bring your laptop and plug in!
Pool and Patio:
The stairs from the lanai leads down to the private, heated pool where you can soak up the sun, let the kids splash around, or enjoy a vigorous swim. (The pool graduates from 3 to 9 feet deep, but there is no diving allowed). The large patio is perfect for relaxing or entertaining with several lounge chairs, poolside bar that seats 8, and gas grill. Please note that the pool is not screened and there is no fence between the patio and canal, so be sure to be watch your precious little ones very carefully when outside.
Lifestyle:
While you're staying on the Island you'll be able to enjoy magnificent sunsets, fabulous restaurants, and exciting nightlife, but it will be worth your while to wake up early at least a few days to enjoy a walk on the beach where you'll get first choice of the shells, sand dollars, and other sea treasures that await you.
As you walk through the white, powdery sand and into the cool, clear gulf water, look out at the amazing ocean...you may even see a few dolphins at play.

Year Purchased: 2010
We're from Indiana and have been owners of Island Escape since 2010. One of our favorite things to do is to walk along the beach all the way to the Pier. It's over a little over 3 miles, and we find all kinds of treasures, meet all kinds of friendly people, and see all kinds of sea creatures. We just love our Island Escape and hope to make it our full-time home someday.
