We are centrally located in the Matanuska Valley surrounded by farm fields and woods plus we have a wonderful view of the Chugach Mountains. Just 5 minutes away is a major shopping area and a medical center.
Our completely furnished carriage house apartment has all the comforts you’ll need while you enjoy your Alaskan adventure. The living room has comfortable lounging while you watch Dish TV or a DVD. The desk area has wifi for your computer. The kitchen is completely outfitted for preparing your meals and seating for 4 at the oak table. A queen size bed in a roomy bedroom has a Mountain view to greet you in the morning and lull you to sleep at night. There is plenty of closet and dresser space to get out of the suitcases and storage area for luggage. The property has several flower gardens. There is a garden bench to enjoy the Alaskan flower garden and garden waterfall that attracts the birds.
Our neighbors have a similar rental and we are 300’ apart via a woodland path so if there are 3 or 4 members in your group, together we may be able to accommodate you.
Whether you are coming to see Alaska’s spring bursting out in early May, or to enjoy the Midnight Sun and our pleasant summer temperatures in June to August, or the forests and mountains turn golden and the high peaks dusted with snow in September all the bounty and activities of Alaska await you.
There are numerous day excursions in and around our area.

Why the Owner Chose Wasilla
The location of our vacation rental is what we call the 'old Valley'. When we arrived in the Matanuska Valley there was one flashing traffic light and not even a McDonalds. Now we have all the conveniences of most towns in America (or the Lower 48 as Alaskans call it). So our location is surrounded by farm fields and a spectacular view of the Knik Inlet and the Chugach Mountains. All the conveniences are there when we need them but here we are tucked away in a country setting of a farming community.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
The apartment is a single unit near the Remele's home located in a farm community so privacy and quiet is the major feature. The local town has become a full service shopping area. Surrounding the town is an historic area with numerous tourist activities, indoor and outdoor sports and wildlife viewing, outdoor activities and attractions. Surrounding all of this is are some of the most beautiful mountains in North America as well as the ocean that glides in and out of the Knik inlet on world record tide levels.

Owner's Map of Wasilla
Walter and Susan Remele have lived in Alaska for 33 years. They raised their family here and built 2 homes. Walter is retired from 40 years of flying and Susan is retired from a career in photography. Their home reflects their love of Alaskan gardening, travel, sailing and golfing.
