Located in one of Southern Oregon's nicest rural neighborhoods, it is centrally located for exploring all the bounty Southern Oregon has to offer. Situated on two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, the yard slopes gently down to over 300 feet of river frontage. The Rogue River is your front yard! Fishing, kayaking, wildlife viewing - you name it!
Southern Oregon has something for everyone. A wide variety of top national performers can be enjoyed at a beautiful outdoor amphitheater only a short drive in Jacksonville. Critically acclaimed plays at a fabulous venue can be enjoyed in Ashland. Checkout the the Britt Festival (named after Peter Britt) and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Their webites are shown below. Both Jacksonville and Ashland offer nice dining options.
The Retreat has three separate bedrooms all with full or queen size beds and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a large bay window seat with a beautiful view of the river. A completely stocked gourmet kitchen stands ready to cook all those fish you catch. A large great room with floor to ceiling windows, high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace provide a great place to dine and relax. French doors open directly onto a huge deck that overlooks the river. Step out and enjoy outdoor dining as the stars come out. A carport for two vehicles is located under the deck off the living room. Activities in this area abound, but you may not want to leave the deck.

Why the Owner Chose Gold HillIn addition to the beautiful river frontage in a great neighborhood, we chose this location because it is located centrally between Ashland and Grants Pass, Jacksonville and Shady Cove and between Sun River and the Pacific Ocean. We are a twenty minute drive from the Medford Airport and a short nine mile drive to Interstate Highway 5. There is very good airline service to Medford as well as excellent services for the private pilot. The Rogue River is well known as a sea run fishery and for rafting and kayaking.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseWe are at the doorstep to the Cascade Range. Crater Lake is an easy ninety minute drive and Highway 234 is part of the Rogue/Umpqua scenic byway. We love to take in plays at the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland and great outdoor amphitheater performances at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville. Grants Pass is a cool town to visit on the way to see or hike the Rogue River wilderness area. This location is central to exploring Southern Oregon.

This property exceeded our expectations. When we first turned down the long driveway to the home we were captivated by the beauty of the exquisite landscaping. Two acres of amazing rock croppings interspersed between rolling green grass alongside the rushing river with tons of privacy. As an avid gardener I really enjoyed all the different specimens of plants, many of which were in full bloom during our visit. The house is the last home in the development so not only do you enjoy the homeowner's land but the views are unobstructed for miles. The home was immaculate with views from every room. The kitchen was fully stocked with a fantastic gas stove for preparing meals, although we mostly used the gas barbecue outside. The small town of Gold Hill is 5 minutes away and has almost everything you need including Miguel's, a great Mexican restaurant. Very centrally located with lots of things to do. Homeowners gave us great ideas for local trips to take and good restaurants in the area and were readily available by phone, email or text to answer any questions we had. Plan on at least one day just staying home, strolling the property, enjoying the views!

If you like to be in a nice comfy home with a sloping lawn to the river then you will be happy here. There are so many great activities in the area but it is a little hard to leave. We love to cook and found the kitchen very well equipped. The river frontage right in your back yard is gorgeous. We spent a lot of time on and in the water. We are looking forward to a return visit soon!

Greg really enjoyed our stay at Rogue Retreat. Your pictures did not do the property justice when we pulled in we were all wowed! Loved the kitchen and sleeping accomodations were great. Our dogs loved it too! The view was really something. Having the river just steps away was great for fishing (catching them was another story). We loved the mexican dinner house in Gold Hill the food was great and the locals were friendly. The women traveled to Ashland for a day of retail therapy. Great area! Would love to visit it in the summer! Thanks again / Steve and Susan

Rogue's Retreat was the perfect setting for a rare family reunion with folks traveling from Wisconsin, Illinois, and nearby Medford. The secluded, spacious, scenic grounds and well-maintained house with its beautiful kitchen, huge living room, comfortable bedrooms, and lovely bathrooms were a pleasant surprise compared with other vacation homes we have rented. Our grand-dogs, (two black labs), felt very much at home, and our two pre-teen grandchildren enjoyed fishing from the shore, and watching for wildlife from the deck. We enjoyed a trip to Crater Lake and a tour of Dogs for the Deaf in Central Point, as well as visits to antique shops in Gold Hill. But the best part was just being together in that beautiful setting. We are scheduled for a return visit this summer, and plan to stay put and enjoy the sounds of the river and watching for eagles!

My husband and I stayed at Rogue's Retreat for a week over the Memorial Day holiday. We had a wonderful time; my only wish is that we could have stayed longer. Whether sitting on the back deck looking the river or walking along the river’s edge, I felt like I was in my own little paradise. The house is very private which we loved, but at the same time it was 5 minutes to the quaint little town of Gold Hill. If you are looking for more action Grants Pass or Medford are only minutes away. However, we just enjoyed being a Rogue’s Retreat. I have stayed at tons of vacation homes; we prefer them over hotels. And let me tell you; we can be very critical and have been disappointed many times, but not here! We can’t wait to go back; we are already planning our next trip to Rogue’s Retreat.
