This freshly remodeled semi-attached cottage features a beautiful garden setting in the desirable Strawberry section of Mill Valley. The fully furnished and equipped property borders open space - deer are sighted almost daily! It's quiet and peaceful yet only 6 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco!
Easy parking and quick access to the coast, Mount Tamalpais, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, and the wine country further north. The bus stop and shopping center is a 5 minute walk.
Ideal for up to two Bay Area vacationers, friends visiting the area, or house-hunters. We also have lots of "newbie" grandparents! No worries, this cottage is upscale, not "funky." No stairs, steps or narrow mountain roads to contend with either!

Year Purchased: 1985
Chuck and Eileen Ballinger are the owners who live in the semi-attached main house (garage in-between). Eileen is a real estate broker fluent in French. Chuck is an author/ artist/ general contractor/ traveler.
Why the Owner Chose Mill Valley
It's proximity to San Francisco is very convenient while its setting in Marin adjoins rural open space. Marin County is our favorite place in the world - and we've been almost everywhere!
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
The cottage looks out on a beautiful European-style garden with terraces and a large fountain (see photo). Strawberry Center is a five minute walk with many restaurants and shops. The cottage is almost three times the size of a hotel room with a fully equipped kitchen. And it's been totally remodeled in 2009!

Feel At Home When Your Are Away From Home

We stayed at the cottage last year while visiting our son and family who live nearby. We chose the cottage as it meant we could walk to our son’s house as well as to Strawberry Village a pretty shopping mall, where you can catch the bus to Muir Wood, Sausalito and San Francisco etc. The Airport Bus even stops at the end of Ricardo Rd. We loved the cottage, with its interesting paintings, artifacts and books to read giving it a warm and homely feel. There is plenty of information on tourist activities provided even down to copies of the local bus timetable. Chuck was always available to help out with any of our requests. We enjoyed our stay so much we are back again this year so can thoroughly recommend a stay at this very comfortable and extremely well maintained cottage which Chuck and Eileen have provided for travelers from all over the world and as far flung as Australia.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

A great place to stay for an extended period of time. Nice firm bed, good linen, powerful shower, plenty of TV channels, good local info from the hosts, and readily accessible to U.S. 1.

Not much to add to perfect.Quiet, convenient to bay area and hosts were as nice as your best neighbors, which included the bottle of wine. This is what vacation rentals should be about.I personally do not think anyone would be disappointed.
