Just returned from a family reunion on this beautiful island. Kauai is as magical as ever and the Kiahuna Plantation is a special place to stay. We love the beach at Poipu, perfect for snorkeling in the winter months. Our daughter and her 3 children stayed in this Garden View condo and found it beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. The condo was well-maintained, the staff, exceptionally helpful, and the owner, Kim, was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this unit. Great value in a wonderful location.

We recently stayed at this great condo with my four-year-old and seven-month-old, and it was great! The condo was very clean and comfortable with plenty of room for all of our kid gear. The grounds around the condo were so lovely and we loved our garden view. We walked across the street to the pool several times, and also drove one minute to Poipu Beach which is right next door. Overall the location was great for our first time trip to Kauai - we were able to access all areas of the island so easily. Also, Kim was very helpful and responsive, as was the staff at the resort. They were able to provide us with a crib and high chair, which was great. The kitchen was very well stocked and we were able to cook several meals while we were there. Writing this review is making me miss Kauai and Kahuna Plantation!!

Beautiful Kauai Family Condo

Our extended family of six (including two young children) stayed in this condo for a week in August. I searched long and hard to find just the right place and this definitely was it. All of the information posted is accurate. The owners are extremely responsive and helpful. We had no problem stocking up on food and beverages and made good use of the BBQ. We ate often on our patio and enjoyed the lush Hawaiian scenery. Of course, we also made a few trips across the street to the great restaurants and just for an occasional treat. The pool was also a hit for the entire family. Naturally, we enjoyed the Poipu beaches, snorkeling, touring the island, etc. It was especially nice, however, with our extended family, to be able to come back and relax in the airy living room with our laptops while the kids watched their favorite shows and DVDs on the 42" TV/DVD. We look forward to having this condo as our base of operations for future family vacations in Kauai!

Loved our Kauai vacation at this Kiahuna Plantation Condo!

Our family of four (including our sons, ages 16 & 14) enjoyed 12 days in paradise at this beautiful condo just a short walk to the beach! There is so much to do here! We rented snorkel equipment and got chairs/towels each morning at the beach hut on the property which was very convenient. The boys also rented surfboards from the surf shop next to Brenneke's restaurant and had a great time surfing between the Kiahuna Plantation and the Marriott next door. We went to the Expedia presentation at the Kiahuna the morning after we flew in and they were so helpful in arranging a helicopter tour of the island by Blue Hawaiian Helicopters - it was fantastic and one of the highlights of the trip! We also hiked 4 miles of the Na Pali coast starting at Ke'e beach on the north shore of the island which was just about an hour's drive from Poipu. That was incredible too! The condo. itself is very comfortable, updated and beautiful! It had everything we needed. The view out the lanai is a very pretty garden view with mature, tropical landscaping with even a touch of ocean view through the trees! There are beautiful, grassy areas all over the property too which the boys enjoyed playing catch on and running around. It's just a short, 10 min. walk (or 2 min. drive) to the laundry facilities on the property which was also very convenient. There are lots of great restaurants across the street in the shopping center but our favorite was the Plantation Gardens restaurant right on the property! We spent our honeymoon here at the Kiahuna 20 years ago and it's just as wonderful now as it was then!

We had a wonderful stay in your Condo. We took advantage of the resort amenities by using the pool, the beach etc…It was so relaxing. Your living room set up was very comfortable and I liked how the space cooled down at night. The king bed was very comfortable and it was great having a 2nd tv set there as well. Thank you for opening up your home to us and I would certainly recommend your place to anyone that I find heading to Kauai.

Great Poipu Location

After 12 years, my wife and I returned to Kauai with our son (now 23) and his girlfriend. My priority was location at a reasonable price, rather than a hotel resort or luxury condo. There was ample room for us with the 2 bedrooms on the first floor, while the kitchen and large living room are on the second floor of a 3 story building. The master bedroom opens onto a patio that sits below the living room deck/lanai. Both face south, overlooking the garden area. The view was better than I expected, with a small triangle of ocean visible. I was unnecessarily concerned that there might be excessive noise from the road in the back. If you use Google Earth to view the property, you will see that a comfortable walk through the grounds ends at a terrific beach (maybe 200-300 yards). The pool for the property is located across the road at the back of the property (next to the shopping center) and was adequate, but no comparison to the luxury pools and lagoons of the nearby hotel resorts. We enjoyed the beach, strolling the nearby grounds of the Grand Hyatt, returning to Kipu Falls, a Napoli Coast catamaran trip, a drive up to the Waimea Canyon for a glorious sunset (facing west), and jumped out of an airplane at 10,000 feet (to our son's surprise, we decided that no one is too old to give it a go). The property was as described, Kim (the owner) was very helpful and easy to communicate with, the concierge was very helpful and all of my expectations were met.

Our vacation was the best we've ever had! The island is an amazing place with so much to do. Your condo was great - we all liked the decor very much. While we were busy during the days, we slept with the glass doors open and nights were quiet with a very comfortable breeze. With six people we were all very comfortable. While there, we went on a helicopter tour of the island, rode ATVs, rode bikes down the canyon, went snorkeling, took a dinner cruise, and took a zip-line safari. We also spent a great deal of time on the beach and in the water. As busy as we were, there was much more we would like to do. We would definitely like to return on another vacation in the future.

April 2011 vacation: I would recommend this property - especially to families. - Lovely condo exactly as described with great facilities for family. Clean and well maintained. Resort staff are friendly and helpful. - Owner was very helpful throughout, provided great information before we went and helped us arrange extra items such as crib, high chair and stair gate saving us a lot of effort. - Only a few minutes walk to the beach through the beautifully maintained gardens at the resort, which also have ample space for children to play. Pool is just across the road, again only a few minutes away. Pool is small, but great for children with a gentle slide and a pebble bottomed baby pool. Hot tub is available for over 16's too. Both the beach and the pool were well attended, but not overcrowded when we visited. - Restaurant - Roy's grill, just across the road from the property. A little more formally laid out that some other restaurants in the area, but don't let that fool you, the staff were friendly, accommodated our 15 month old happily and the food was very good. Cafe - In nearby Koloa there is also an excellent coffee/ice-cream shop which we enjoyed. - Activities - lots! - zip lining, helicopter rides, surfing lessons, rafting, train excursions etc. Resort has in-house Expedia reps who have a huge selection of activities and outings that they can talk you through and will make the bookings for you.

We spent a wonderful relaxing week at the Kiahuna Plantation. What a gorgeous spot! Everything was perfect and we were relaxing on the patio overlooking the gardens with a drink in our hands just hours after we landed. The condo was immaculate, beautifully decorated and spacious. We had our two year old son with us and had more than enough space for the three of us. The owners are so friendly and accomodating and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. There is a fully stocked kitchen and we made dinner every night (much easier than going to a restaurant with a two year old!) We also made good use of the flatscreen TV (baby up at 4am :) and a very secluded patio for sunbathing. The beach is a quick walk through the grounds and the pool is just across the street. We spent every day at both places. The waterslide at the pool was a real hit for us! Thanks so much for giving us a home base from which to enjoy paradise!
