Our beautiful and relaxing vacation home is located on the banks of the Grand River in Austinburg, Ohio. Nestled amongst several award winning wineries, we are minutes from some of the most beautiful scenery Ohio has to offer. With 16 covered bridges to visit, you can combine a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with some history too. Our historic covered bridges are visited from people all around the country with most of the bridges dating back to the 1800's.
Take a stroll back in time and visit Ohio's first vacation resort, Geneva-on-the-Lake on the shores of Lake Erie. There you can take swim at one of our most beautiful beaches, visit Geneva State Park or go for fun in the sun on the historic "strip". Don't forget to visit Eddies Grill, a 1950's landmark known for their famous root beer and foot long hot dogs. Geneva-on- the-Lake also boasts some wonderful restaurants where you can dine right at the waters edge. More wineries, music and good old fashioned fun await you at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Austinburg and neighboring Harpersfield are located in the Grand River Valley, now famous for producing some of the countries best grapes. We have several wineries minutes from our home and you can easily spend an afternoon or evening visiting and sampling some of Ohio's finest wines. The wineries are open all season long and winter at the wineries is just as beautiful as summer.
After all the activity Ashtabula County has to offer, you know you can come back home to our relaxing getaway and cook up a nice dinner in our extra large eat-in kitchen or grill out back on the patio while watching the river go by. Enjoy a relaxing evening in front of the fire in our great room while watching a DVD or just turn on a movie with our cable TV. Our home is large and spacious and you will never feel cramped even with all your relatives around!
You can take a walk down our country road to one of our oldest covered bridges, the Mechanicsville Covered Bridge, circa 1867 and marvel at the construction. Take a walk through the covered bridge over the Grand River and go back in time for a few minutes. That's something you just don't get to do everyday!
Whether you are coming to visit for a few days or a week or more, my family can promise you a wonderful, relaxing stay and would welcome you any time of the year.
Hope to see you soon and happy traveling!

My family has been coming to Austinburg and the Grand River for over 50 years and it is such a special place that my husband and I decided to buy a place for us to just getaway and relax on the beautiful Grand River. We are nestled amongst several wineries which is an added bonus. Whenever we come to the "river house" as we call it, we forget about the busy lifestyle we lead and can actually relax and enjoy the country and the slower pace. We love to sit and watch the river meander by. We turned it into a vacation rental and now everyone can enjoy it too!
The Unique Benefits of this House/Cabin
We are nestled on the "banks" of the Grand River just minutes from several award winning wineries. We are located on a quiet country road where you can actually take a stroll down to the old covered bridge and enjoy the what the country as to offer. There are more than 16 historic covered bridges right on our county and taking day trips to visit them is a lot of good old fashioned fun. Cooking out in our backyard is fun because you can just sit and watch the river go by. You will see the occasional fisherman or canoeist meandering down the river. They'll always have a friendly wave for you as they go by. Our house is large and spacious with a great room that boasts a wood stove for those chilly nights. It's fun to watch a movie in front of the fire. All in all, we have a fun place to come visit. You won't want to leave, I promise you!

What a well appointed getaway! Little did I know how lucky I'd be when I found your place on Laurello's website. This has been such a delightful stay. There is so much to see, do, tast and eat in this region. Patti, thank you for your wonderful suggestions and great leads. Try the dry, red at Laurello's called "Cosmo". Until next time. Wow!! What a great weekend! The thoroughly enjoyed the cabin from the magnificent views, the cozy interior & all your little extras that made our stay. Thank you for all your suggestions on where to go and what to do. We were able to visit a few wineries and caught a sunset on the hill at South River Winery. We really enjoyed our first week of retirement here at your place. The house is absolutely charming. Bill loved fishing for steel-head with your Uncle Dick. He caught a few and we have pictures to prove it. Thanks for getting them together. I enjoyed the quilt shop you suggested. Thanks for such a wonderful week.
