The home was very clean and well maintained. It was a home away from home. Patti was great by showing us everything we needed to know about the house. She also filled us in about the area. We hope to go back again. We would highly recommend this home to all.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Grand River Getaway. The house is nice and spotlessly clean. Great coffee maker and coffee provided. I was also able to do some laundry in the house, which helped a lot since I was there to visit my mother who was in the hospital. There is a lot to do in the area as well. Thanks and I plan to stay there again!

My family and I were looking for a place to stay while visiting Geneva on the Lake, and we had very little time to arrange this trip, after looking on the internet for vacation rentals to stay for a few days, we came across this beautiful home and we got the chance to meet Patti, what a great experience our trip was! She was very helpfull with all of our accommodations and with info on places to visit near by, specially wineries. The house is perfectly located 10 min away from all the entertainment on Lake Erie, 5 min away from the best wineries and the cover bridges, and overlooks the Grand River. The house is beautifully decorated and very clean, we felt like at home, it was so spacious! I highly recommend this house, but overall, I highly recommend dealing with the owners, very kind and helpful.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Grand River Getaway. The house was very clean & comfortable. The bed, too, was very comfortable, which is very important. It was a pleasure to sit out on the patio & just look at the lazy river. The area was very quiet & restful. The location was very convenient to visiting the wineries, the bridges or just a quick jaunt to the store. Patti was most helpful with suggestions for dining or sights to see. All in all we had a grand time at the Grand River!

The pictures for this property don't do it justice! We were very happy upon arrival to find such a charming home for our girls weekend. We never even attended the local wine festival because we enjoyed just sitting on the patio, overlooking the river, sipping wine. One day we did attend a Beach Glass Festival nearby and a couple of the wineries. We will certainly be back, would love to see it in the fall!

Absolutely lovely country location. Peaceful place for creative thinking, yoga, bird watching and just relaxing! Walk to the historic covered bridge and stroll down the quiet roads surrounding the house. Watching the river in the morning with a cup of coffee and a good book was bliss!! Be sure to visit one of the wineries close by- I love the Harpersfield winery- great staff-great wine and peaceful location. Amish country is close by too- Mary Yoder's raisin filled cookies are the best! Thanks Patti for everything. I hope to be back soon!

My husband and I spent a week in this cottage which met all of our needs. It is in a quiet location on the Grand River which is right outside the back door. Unfortunately, it rained for the first few days we were there and the mosquitos were out in full force so we were not able to sit in the backyard and enjoy the river. The location was central for us as we traveled between Chardon and Conneaut; it's about an hour to downtown Cleveland. Grocery stores are close by and many good, locally owned restaurants are in the area of Geneva and Geneva-on-the-Lake. Take the time and go the the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland; you won't be disappointed. The cottage is very clean; the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc.; and the washer/dryer are a huge plus in my book! The drawback to this cottage is it has no air conditioning; portable fans would be helpful in the summer. Patti is great to work with and very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Thanks, Patti for sharing your cottage with us!
Owner response:Thanks Bob and Renee, so glad you had a good stay...because of our unusual rainy spring, it brought out pesky mosquitos. Generally the backyard is very enjoyable to sit and watch the river meander by. I do have portable fans down at the house, but since it was so cold when you arrived they were not out yet. I didn't anticipate it to go from 50 to 92 in one day! Hope to see you again when you're passing through. Enjoy your summer in Arizona.

My sister and I could only get away for one night, and you were gracious enough to let us do that even though you would rather do a 2 night minimum. We appreciated it so much! We loved the inside of the house, especially the living area, which had such a great view of the river. We really enjoyed the wood-burning stove and the electric fireplace along with beautiful decor. I love that it is close to quite a few wineries, and we can't wait to come back when the weather is better. Looking forward to spending some time sitting on the patio just relaxing while enjoying the river view!!! Thank you Patti and looking forward to meeting John next time.

We enjoyed having a whole house to ourselves and getting away from the city noise. Being able to make a fire was so relaxing and looking out over the Grand River was an excellent view. We will be going back and recommending Grand River Getaway to our family and friends The kitchen had everything we needed from making a pot to coffee to preparing eggs in the morning. Very clean and comfortable and charming. The wineries and covered bridges were an added bonus. Lots of brochures and maps are available in the house.

Our stay was much better than I expected. The house was clean and so cozy. It couldn't have been more perfect. Way better than staying in a hotel. Although we did not do much sightseeing, Patti did give alot of good reccomendations for good places to eat and some great historical information about the area. I would highly recommend her home to everyone that wants peace and quiet. We cannot wait to go back in the summer or fall when the weather is nicer.

We just loved it. So much easier when visiting away from home to have a place to relax at the end of a day of running. So close to our old home it was like being there. So convenient to all the area stores but out of town away from the noise and people. Everything you need to feel right at home and actually relax compared to a crowed hotel room. We plan on making it our place to stay for all future trips back home. Thank you Patti and John for providing such a warm and comfortable place to stay.

We stayed for two nights this past weekend with our family, a group totaling 6 plus baby. The four younger adults (21-25) enjoyed the grill in the back for roasting marshmallows and s'mores. Baby enjoyed crawling around and playing with the wooden spools. We enjoyed using the jacuzzi, we did have minor trouble because of the amount of people using the hot water, six people seems to be the maximum for the water heater. The house is tastefully decorated, and it felt comfortable, like a home away from home. Patti was very helpful with our needs and made sure the furnace was all set for our weekend, as it was a bit chilly. The six of us enjoyed the time spent with family at my brother's wedding, and staying at the cottage, made it all the more less stressful- esp. for the mother of the groom. She was thrilled to stay and is thankful for Patti and John for opening up their beautiful house for travelers like ourselves. Thank you again! When we're out this way, we'll keep you in mind for our overnight stays!

My husband and our friends had a very good time staying at the house/cabin. It was very clean and nicely decorated and had just about everything in it we needed. It was situated in the area where we always frequent the local wineries - so it was nice not to have to drive so far. Pattie was a very gracious hostess and left us plenty of information about the local attractions. The coffee maker should have a sign on it, however, stating that you should not use the well water, because it was clogged up. But a couple of good doses of vinegar cleaned it out fine! If time and money permit, we will definitely come and stay again!

We had a wonderful relaxing four days on the Grand River. The cottage was beautiful, more than we expected. Very comfortable, tastefully decorated, cozy beds. It is centrally located to a number of great wineries. Plus Patti gave us some great restaurant recommendations on top of it! Thanks Patti!. Gary and Liz, September 2010

This property was roomy, absolutely spotless, and wonderfully decorated. What a great getaway, just a an hour drive from Cleveland. Patti was so helpful showing us around the house and pointing us in the right direction for wineries and other scenic areas. The neighbors were very friendly, and the lab pups who periodically visited us in the backyard were just adorable! We also went on a nice 2-hr canoe trip. This was a great value for the spaciousness and upscale decor. Can't wait to come back for another long weekend!

We stayed at the Grand River get away 2 weeks in Sept. 09 for our wedding. Since I am from the area it was like returning home. So nice to have the family gatherings "at home". We enjoyed everything from the house to the front porch swing to the peace and quiet of the backyard over looking the river. A great time to remember. Thanks Patti for being so helpful.

We stayed at G. River Labor Day wk-end and had such a relaxing time. We told several of our friends and hope to stay there again. We found lots to do when we wanted to see the sites near our cottage. We loved the dogs since ours had died the previous October. A sweet touch, having dog bones for the Golden visitor :)

We stayed at Grand River Getaway during May of 2009. It is a very nice place to stay. We have family in Jefferson & Conneaut and it was the perfect place to stay because it was close to all of out family and it was a nice place to go and have a break from the family! We visit Ohio at least once a year and we will continue to stay here for out future visits. The house is VERY clean, well decorated, peaceful, and it just makes you feel at home. We have a 4yr and she loved the room that she slept in. The view of the River was nice also. There is a covered bridge very close and we went to that also. I can't for get Bubbles, the neighbors dog. He was such a sweet dog. Patty is a very nice lady and I hope to see you again soon! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality! Angie Burkholder

This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking to truly getaway and not feel like you are in Ohio! (Not to knock Ohio, but you know it is nice to escape every once in a while!) I have visited the last two years in the fall right when the leaves are changing for my birthday. I plan on making it a tradition. The house is in a great location to visit the wineries since many are within a 15 minute drive. We also enjoyed a lovely canoe trip on the Grand River. The Grand River Getaway is a great alternative to a hotel. I would rather have the privacy of the Grand River Getaway with its wood stove, stocked kitchen, jacuzzi tub, and backyard view anyday.
