The large living room with its classic high wooden beamed roof and central wood burning fireplace offers an exceptional standard of furnishing and facilities. The floor to ceiling windows provide panoramic views of the Jungfrau, Silberhorn, Breithorn, Schilthorn and the village of Murren perching on the mountain side far across the Lauterbrunnen valley. During the day the view is stunning - at night in the moonlight one of the most romantic in the world. South and West facing balconies give 270 degree views over the mountains, the valley and back to the village centre itself. An exclusive apartment for discerning guests.
Wengen is the perfect dual season resort destination. In summer 30km of hiking paths around the village and 500 km of sign posted hiking routes in the Jungfrau region are the main attraction with every mountain sport from climbing to hang gliding and white water rafting readily available. Interlaken and its two lakes, golf course and music festivals and open air theatres is a bustling international holiday resort easily accessible in under an hour.
The resort belongs to the most attractive and popular winter sports region in Switzerland. The Jungfrau ski area covers Wengen, Grindelwald,and Murren, with 195 km of pistes. Intermediate skiers have plenty of long runs to choose from and can spend a day travelling right across to the Schilthorn (home of the Piz Gloria restaurant made famous by the James Bond movie) and the notorious "cannon muzzle" black run, or take the scenic route down to Grindelwald. In January Wengen hosts the Lauberhorn world cup ski race when the village, for one mad week, becomes the centre of the international ski circus. The Swiss ski school is excellent.
There are plenty of mountain restaurants. Many of them, such as the Eigerletscher perched underneath the famous north face of the Eiger, have fabulous views, are good value and have friendly staff with Swiss style service.
Non-skiers come to Wengen in the winter for relaxation and peace, fresh air and the beautiful snow walks. There is ice skating, sledging and curling and excellent spa facilities, open to the public, in one of the hotels in the village.
The nightlife can be a lot of fun for a small resort with a sleepy image. The apres ski bars are always busy and most of the hotel bars stay open late and some have music. There are good restaurants (mainly in the hotels) and for the night bird a selection of discos and late night bars.

Wengen is the ideal summer and winter destination in the Jungfrau Region of Switzerland. The scenery is stunning with views across the world famous Jungfrau mountain range which includes the Eiger, the Jungfrau and the Moench mountain peaks. The village of Wengen sits on its own south facing plateau and is a car free oasis reached only by mountain railway.

Our apartment is on the top floor of this newly built chalet and the views from the south and west facing balconies are world class. It is on the edge of the village only 4 minutes walk from the train station and the main cable car. So we have the best of all worlds - peace and quiet and exceptional views a mere stroll away from the bars, restaurants, shops and ski lifts of Wengen centre.

Steven and Susan Booth are both lawyers who live in London. They have a passion for skiing in the winter and enjoying beautiful mountain scenery in winter and summer. Working with their architect they created their dream mountain apartment in 2006 and now enjoy it with their family and friends
