My husband and I are hard working folks from CT, who love to travel and enjoy life. When we get time to escape, we often use VRBO and Home Away to plan many of our vacations to avoid the tourist “crunch” and discover some of the best homes, condos, and villas an area has to offer. We've been lucky enough to visit many Caribbean islands, Hawaii, and Europe but time after time, we return to Mexico, specifically Cozumel. It has been our long time dream to purchase a home to retire to, where the sun is always shining, the water is always warm, and the people are always friendly.
Why the Owner Chose Cozumel Island
Having visited the eastern Mexican coast many times over the last 15 years, we always gravitate to Cozumel for the superb diving and snorkeling, the ease of island life, the excellent variety of dining spots and shopping, and the friendly people, all of which create the perfect balance of adventure and solitude. Isn’t that why we take vacations? We’ve stayed at some of the best all-inclusives on the island, and usually enjoyed them, except that you share your precious vacation time with so many other people. We prefer vacationing with our chosen guests and setting our own times for sleeping, meals, and excursions, not those of a hotel.
As soon as we were able, we set out investigating where we would like to purchase a second home to eventually retire to. After much thought, and a lot of looking, we chose Cozumel. We have always been drawn to the beauty of the island, and the residents who hold strong family values and integrity, while extending friendship to us outsiders. If you dive or snorkel, you cannot find a better place to do it, unless you travel to Australia! And if you don’t, there is still a wide variety of things to do for any age. This place leaves a lasting impression on you once you visit.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Our condo has its own private lap pool that is just perfect for sharing with family and friends anytime of the day. Whether having your morning coffee or cocktails after a day at the beach, it is a special treasure to step into your private pool. The wraparound terrace gives you a great view of the complex and is a fantastic place to dine, read, and relax. One of the complex pools is directly in front of our condo, so it allows the children to swim while you are relaxing on the terrace. No need to pack anything and sit at the pool to monitor the kids! They can easily walk to the condo to get drinks, food and forgotten towels! The second pool, near the beach, offers a shaded palapa with tables to play games, eat picnic lunches, or just hang out. There is a small refrigerator and sink there to keep trips back to the condo to a minimum. Standing in this pool, you can view some of the best sunsets you have ever seen! This complex is easy to navigate for anyone, even those who find walking difficult. The paths are well marked, flat and well maintained. There are numerous places to eat and drink on both sides of the complex, accessible by walking the beach. Directly next to Residencias Reef, is a small boutique hotel offering luxurious dining and a pier that is great for excursion pick-ups. Carlos and Charlie’s beach "club" is a short walk and a great place to spend the day for kids, teens, young adults and even us older “kids”. Cozumel is not known for sandy beaches, as it is mostly coral surrounding the coastline. The majority of hotels and condos do NOT have natural beachfront. After several, very hot days looking at villas and condos for sale, coming back to this condo with the beautiful beach, powdery sand, and turquoise water convinced us that this was the ONLY place to be!

This condo was spectacular, it was nicely decorated, with wonderful wall murals. The outdoor swimming pool was a very nice added amenity, it was a little on the chilly side. The outdoor patio furniture was so comfortable and enjoyable. Ed and Laurie are fantastic owners, they went above and beyond to make our trip very enjoyable. We even had the threat of a hurricane and they, along with house employee Miguel, were fantastic in letting us know exactly what to expect and do in such weather. It turned out okay and was only a tropical storm. It was wonderful having a computer with internet on site, to use as well as US telephone service. Their whole staff was top notch, and wonderful to work with. I would recommend this place very highly for families, couples, or anyone looking for a fabulous place to stay and relax in Cozumel. The beach is a small walk from house, but is not bad at all, and you have steps going down from back patio. There are two pools, with one of them right off of back patio, very comfortable and easy to enjoy. Pool chairs around pool area. You must try, Alberto's resturant there is one down the beach road a little ways or one in town. The atmosphere is fantastic on the beach, the food is excellent. We also ate at Las Palmeras, which had very good food and drinks. Coconuts on South end of Island is a favorite also, food is good and view is even better. We loved this place - the location, interior, grounds, beach, pool were all some of the best we've experienced during our frequent trips to Cozumel. The owners were more than accomodating, Miguel and Reyna were warm and friendly and we couldn't wait to get back - were seriously sad to leave.... So excited for our next trip later this year!

This was our first experience with a vacation rental (rather than a hotel). It was so much more homey and relaxing. My father and I enjoyed 10 wonderful days at the condo. It is a perfect location in the complex. We especially enjoyed being able to hang out on the balcony and see/hear the birds. Fantastic sunsets & great diving. Laurie and Ed were very responsive to our needs and made sure everything worked well. The manager, Miquel was helpful in setting up diving for me and giving me valuable information. He even helped me out in town when I thought (mistakenly) that my rental car got towed. We will book again for next year!

This review is very late, we stayed at your condo last summer for 2 wks in June/July. It was our kids' (10 & 12) first visit to Cozumel. We were worried they might get bored. We all had a fabulous time! The caretakers, Miguel, Reyna and their daughter-in-law, all were wonderful. Miguel helped us plan our activities, took us snorkeling & scuba diving, Reyna cooked for us and it was all too fine! The condo was perfect and all of our needs were handled. Rebe...thank you so much for allowing us to spend a week in paradise! Your condo is amazing. I could not believe how spacious it was -- we had 6 adults in our group, and it easily accommodated us with room left over. It was terrific to have a full kitchen in which to cook, and both an indoor and outdoor dining table for our personal use. The view from the condo is magnificent. I could not believe we only had to walk a few steps to enjoy both a beautiful pool and the ocean. And having a private beach was quite lovely. We were able to watch the sunset every night without fighting for chairs, like we would have had to do at a resort or public beach. Cozumel itself was fantastic, and the guides you provided helped us hit the hot spots and the more out-of-the-way places. Our private boat and guide for our snorkeling trip was fantastic! The true highlight of the trip. Finally, everyone we encountered from the guards at the gate to the cleaner of the condo was courteous and helpful. I highly recommend your unit to any traveler wishing to experience a week in paradise. Thanks again for the amazing hospitality!

My family and I really enjoyed your condo. It was very clean and very well equipped. It was nice to be able to make some meals so we could hangout and relax. Having the condo for our family (two teanage boys) really helped make our trip a success. And we couldn't ask for a better location:close to the ocean and great places to go out to. We dive so having the pier real close for the dive boats to pick us up and drop us off was a big Bonus. We look forward to going back as soon as possible> Pam and Mark in Missouri

This is the place to be if you like the Sun Sand and piece and quite. Really enjoyed the two walls of glass overlooking the private lap pool on the two sided terrace that looked over the mangrove and beach.Great Beach and water activities. Diving was easy and convenient. I spent a very enjoyable month here and can't Wait to go back.

Quiet, clean, relaxing and all of the amenities of home. My husband and I have stayed in this condo two times and plan to go back again. The staff is courteous and always available when needed. Beautiful beaches, bars/dining and outdoor activities all within walking distance. Whether you are on vacation to relax or cut loose there is something for everyone at this place!
