Location: Kingsland, Lake LBJ, Hill Country, Texas, USA
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 11-17)
Keywords: House, Lake, Slab Road, LBJ, swimming, fishing, boating, golf,
Newly remodeled 4 bedroom, 2 bath house with an extra lot for parking RV's, boat trailers and plenty of cars. This house has it all with spa-like bathrooms that will make you feel like you've arrived at a five star hotel. Comfortable sleeping arrangements: Master bedroom with king-sized bed, second bedroom with two bunk beds (one twin/twin and one twin/full), third bedroom with queen bed, and a game room with a king bed and two full size futons. A sleeper sofa in the living area rounds out the sleeping arrangements and make this location ideal for multiple family getaways.
The Llano River arm of Lake LBJ is a unique location due to the sandy bottom that is great for kids and the shoreline gently slopes away for safe swimming. It is considered the hot spot for parking boats offshore and relaxing in the water that averages 4' to 8' deep in most areas. Kids love to explore along the shoreline and the limited boat traffic puts parents fears at ease. Not a water lover? Then just relax in the hammock with a good book while enjoying the best view of Packsaddle Mountain on the lake or take up a round of golf just down the street at Packsaddle Golf Club..
Pay extra for kayaks and peddle boats??? Not at SAKS Retreat. 4 kayaks and a peddle boat are included in your rental!
A stay at SAKS Retreat will make memories that will last a lifetime and you'll want to return again and again.

Why the Owner Chose Kingsland
Purchased this property because of the kid friendly location on the lake. Quiet relaxing views of Packsaddle and a sandy lake bottom make this property a "must stay" for families with kids of all ages. The Llano River arm of Lake LBJ is the preferred spot to park your boat and hang out in the water that averages from 4 to 8 feet deep. It is also the preferred spot for wake boarders due to the long straight stretch of water and the limited boat traffic. A small sand island right off the shore is a favorite for smaller children and creates a private swim area. Kayaking is also a favorite activity on this part of the lake and two kayaks are provided for use during your stay. A paddle boat is also included and is a great way to explore the lake and meet the neighbors.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Everything was just as you described it, attractive, clean and comfortable. And there was ample room for our party of 10. You were most helpful in answering all our questions. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place. I hope we will be able to return next year.
Owner response:Thanks for the great review. Hope to see you next year.

A group of girlfriends and myself stayed at SAKS Retreat for a reunion and truly enjoyed our stay! The entire home is updated! Granite countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, all nice fixtures, incredibly clean, and loved the wood floors. The home felt brand new! The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of linens, towels, dishes, etc. This waterfront property was just what we were looking for, and the sandy bottom made walking in the water more than comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to family or friends.

We were looking for a nice house on a river in the hill country for a reasonable cost and we found it with this place. It’s on a beautiful spot on the Llano River with great views from the patio and yard of the river and hills. We loved the fact that the river’s shallow depth and distance from LBJ keeps most of the boat traffic and noise faraway. The river really does have a sandy bottom that is great for just hanging out in with your kids and we made good use of the two kayaks and paddleboat that come with the house. The property has its own concrete dock where you can tie up the boats, set up lawn chairs and enjoy drinks or read books as the sun sets. The house is good for a couple of families and has everything you need. Everything works and is in good shape. It is a perfect place for vegging-out for a few days and we would definitely recommend it to others.

Everything was just as promised or better. House was clean and uncluttered. Plenty of games and videos for children and families. Kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use. Dock area was perfect for children. Kayaks were in good condition and really fun to get around the lake in. Back porch was small, but very pleasant in the mornings and evenings. The owner was responsive to all our questions and helpful. We appreciated the departure check list. Would love to have stayed longer.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

Let’s make one thing clear, I can’t believe I’m writing this. YOU might be the one who beats me to a reservation one week! I should tell you how miserable the place is! That if you hate raccoons, shirtless neighbors of questionable character, cats in heat and rabid 140 pound Rottweilers running around free…STAY AWAY! But I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the couple that owns this home and felt compelled to write this letter. My extended family and I have stayed here several times. There's a myriad of reasons we keep coming back. I should start by saying since we first came here 5 years ago there have been numerous surprise upgrades every time we show up! The kitchen was redone on one trip, then the next trip we noticed the new flooring. Our last get together the owner had loaded bunk beds into the mix. The price has always been VERY fair; it’s clean, the AC is always rockin and its easy to get to the H.E.B. and ice house! The covered patio has a beautiful unobstructed view of the Llano spring waters. Better even still, there is nothing built on the banks across the way…just untouched Texas Hill Country. My 70 year old mother and her grand kids (4&8) have a blast in the river due to it’s a sandy bottom and it’s very shallow over 40 yards out. It comforts me as a parent to know that there are no sudden drops and that water craft of all types stay far, far away from the shores of this property for fear of busting up their boats or jet ski’s! There is a huge cement bulk head you can pop your lawn chairs up on and sit under the trees, sip some sweet tea and read a book. There’s some added value too! A paddle boat and several kayaks both singles and deuces. Another little “perk” bout renting this house, it’s just a stones throw from a local secret (although on holidays it sure don’t feel like one) called slab road! THIS IS A MUST DO! Hundreds on lime stone pools carved out by centuries of spring water rushing over the the rock. Grab a picnic basket and a cooler then head down with the family to the slab…NO BOTTLES! So there ya have it, nothing stuffy here. Just a great place for friends and family to hang out in the day and look at those big and bright stars at night, smack dab in the heart of Texas… One bad thing…You’ll never be able to book this 4th of July weekend. I’ve been told…that’s theirs! Oh well, there’s always the Shriner’s Super Terrific Big Red White and Blue Buffet and Low Altitude Bottle Rocket Extravaganza in Mule Shoe Texas! Cheers!
