Why the Owner Chose Kaaawa
My husband and I fell in love with this property as soon as we saw the stream running through it into the ocean. It was a dream come true with the beach in front and the lush mountains in back, with a stream thrown in to seal the deal. We were looking for a house fronting the ocean, and decided to look in Ka'a'awa because of its pristine beauty. Ka'a'awa is also a safe neighbothood. Here, we're able to grow our own vegetables, fruits, and flowers and feel a real connection to the land. We work hard in the garden and jump into the ocean to cool off and unwind. This is paradise!
The Unique Benefits at this House
The best thing about our house is that you have the beach almost to yourself. It is never crowded and the people in the neighborhood help to keep it pristine. To sit on the beach and watch the sun come up over the water is hard to beat. You can also sit for hours watching the play of colors on the mountains. It's fascinating to see the range from dark, almost black to gold to green to blue. It's always different!
Owner's Map of Kaaawa
My husband and I have been happily married for 35 years and run an Asian and Pacific art and antique gallery. In our business, we travel all over the world, but we're always so happy to come home to Hawaii. Hawaii has the friendliest people in the world. The word "ohana" means "family" in Hawaiian and this is a word you'll hear often. Most of us in Hawaii consider family as the most important factor to a happy and fulfilling life. We are very lucky to have our family, our son and daughter, work with us in our gallery. Ohana also includes the extended family of the workplace, the community, our islands. I was raised in Hawaii and have lived here most of my life, except for brief periods in Taiwan and Japan. Although Hawaii has grown with commercial developments, I still feel a strong sense of ohana, and this essence is what I'd like to share with our guests.
