We are a surfing family and love the ocean. We are from San Diego CA, currently living in PR. We love Puerto Rico, the people, and culture here in Hatillo. Shannon is an artist and Shayne produces a TV show named On Surfari that airs on the Fuel Network. Our family hosts the show and hopes to promote family values, and educate the viewer about the cultures and countries that we travel to and surf in. We feel very BLESSED to have a home here in Hatillo and love to share our dream with guests. Shannon's retired parents, Jay and Lydia, are also part owners of the home and hope to spend more of their free time fishing, and enjoying the beach with the grand kids.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We love to surf, swim, snorkel, and scuba out front in warm crystal clear water, or fish, sunbathe, shop, jog, hike, surf, windsurf, kite, sight see, play basketball, spelunk, mountain bike, casual dinning, watch waves and star gaze from the hammock. The epic surf spots in front of house - La Tortuga, La Marina, and Los Cabros, short drive to other waves. Shannon was super nice and always available by phone. The home is in average condition but very comfortable. Good for the price. My family and I had a blast. Close to Carr #2 and restaurants, though the kitchen has everything you need to make a decent meal. An Iron would be nice to have in the house but the neighbors are very nice and let us borrow theirs :) Overall, I would stay again. Thanks Shannon!!

Hi Shannon, We made it home on Saturday evening with fresh snow falling and that was a stark reminder of how much fun we were having in Puerto Rico at your guest house. Sorry for not getting your call Friday. I turned off the phone and forgot to ever turn it back on so I didn't get your message until Saturday night when we hit the ground. As you told us, the people of Hatillo (and all over the island) were so warm and friendly. We met several of the fishermen, the neigbors and a few other folks from around town and each and every one of them offered to help us in any way we needed. They invited us to fish with them and a lovely lady up the street loaned me a brand new, still in the wrapper boogie board. I didn't catch her name, but she lives on the corner house with the boat in the front yard. Too many good stories to tell you but everything you said lived up to the billing. We had great sun, really lovely weather until Friday of course. We got to the cave behind the Texaco (cool!), El Yunque, Liquillo beaches and the Arecibo Observatory. Got lost trying to find Crash Boat but really got to see some local flavor that way. Of course we hung out at Sardina quite a bit to swim and snorkel. The waves in front of the house scared Steph. Oh, and I got to save a dog! A couple of small boys were goofing around in the surf with their dog, a pure bred Bull Terrier we had seen being walked by an older gentleman earlier in the week, and they lost the leash on one of the days with a pretty rough surf. They didn't dare go after him and Stephanie and I just happened to be at the beach at the time. He wasn't too far out when I realized what was happening and I'm an ex-life guard but it took a little effort on my end to bring him in. He was a pretty happy pup when we hit the beach and the boys seemed pretty releaved too. I got a couple of big smiles before they ran off. Anyway, that's a good story but it doesn't remotely cover how much fun we had, how welcome and comfortable we felt and how beautiful the island is. I told Stephanie we should look for a place. I saw one (Se Vende) up the hill about a 1/2 block from the park. The locals said a man from the States is selling…….but I didn't get his number. Thank you again and please tell Jay and Lydia thank you! P & S
