If you are looking for a peaceful getaway with a mountain view, look no further! An easy hour and a half drive from Portland, this lodge welcomes you to relax and gaze at the splendor of Mt Hood. Every sleeping space has a view of the mountain. Don't even bother stopping at the mountain look-outs on your way, just wait until you get in the house, or on the decks! None of the pictures do this place justice, it's beyond description. Stay and enjoy your private mountain. Nilsa was very friendly, and both she and Mike were easy to work with. Such a blessing!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The Bigfoot Lodge is absolutely stunning!!! My husband and I celebrated our wedding weekend at the Bigfoot Lodge with our immediate families this August. Our mission for the weekend was to spend quality time with everyone, relax, and celebrate. We felt this mission was very much accomplished and our families are still talking about how much they enjoyed their stay. The Bigfoot Lodge allowed for our families so many luxuries including a great hot tub, lovely grounds to explore and enjoy, incredible views of the mountain from numerous locations, adorable rooms, and excellent patios! Also, the main floor is beautiful and set-up perfectly so that the kitchen, dining room, and sitting area all flow with one another. We would highly recommend this vacation home for a wedding, reception, get-away, etc. It seems very appropriate for all-ages and has a great room on the main floor that is perfect for guests with limitations. We also are so grateful for the generosity and kindness that the owners showed us! Thank youRecommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our family had absolutely WONDERFUL time at Bigfoot Lodge over Labor Day weekend. Nilsa: Thank you for everything that made our stay so memorable. We'll have family memories that will last a lifetime. The weather was perfect, the view outstanding, and home incredible with everything we needed. The owners added more outdoor area so enjoy the view even more. The photos on this site are great, but you have to see it to believe the views and we hope to rent again. We absolutely loved our stay at the Bigfoot Lodge. We had 3 families with 6 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 2 to 6 and the lodge offered great separation of space with enough room for the kids to roam and play and each family had its own section of the lodge to call its own. The trampoline and ping pong table provided hours of energetic entertainment for the kids. We loved the outdoor living areas and the amazing views of Mt. Hood. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. We found the owners of the lodge to be extremely helpful in recommending areas to see and visit. Mike is truly an ambassador for the area and his enthusiasm for its many treasures was infectious. We would highly recommend the Bigfoot Lodge and can't wait until our next visit!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

I had a chance to meet the owner, tour the lodge, and plan an event with her just a few months before a December wedding. This place is phenomenal! The views are breathtaking and the lodge itself is very cozy. It has a wood stove, hot tub, sauna, tons of porch space, and plenty of sledding just a few steps from the back door! In all of my contact with Nilsa about my wedding requests, she was more than accomodating and even going out of her way to make my day a special one. I would love to book with her in the future!! There's nothing else like this private home, so enjoy your winter staring at the mountain while sipping hot cocoa by the fire...Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: Mike, Nilsa, and Sebastian Zeman have lived and played in the Hood River Valley/Columbia River Gorge area all our lives. In 2001 we built Bigfoot-Lodge to share this paradise with amazing Mt. Hood and Hood River Valley views, in the playground we have always called home. Great Mountain biking, hiking, and more out your door. Close to lakes, rivers, beaches, skiing, golf, you name it, it has and always will be our dream location. We now invite all to enjoy what we enjoy everyday.
Why the Owner Chose Hood River:
This property was purchase by my grandfather 50+ years ago. He owned and managed 100's of acres of pristine natural forest lands to preserve for future generations. When he passed away it was given to my father and then later I purchased the property from him in hope to later pass it on to my son who is now 7 years old. When my wife and I start to think of putting a Lodge here to share with others this amazing wilderness and outdoor playground we new from the start it should be an all hand hewed custom designed and built log lodge to match the perfect Mt. Hood forested setting. Please come and enjoy this majestic property with your family, friends, co-workers, or special group. Hood River's saying is 'it's all good in the Hood'!
The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
This unique location is in the heart of the Hood River Valley on the edge of the forest and private but close to all the best of the gorge has to offer within minutes drive. The location has a portion of the east fork of the Hood River running through it with a pond, pasture, and lots of room at the lodge for outdoor activities. Vacationers will enjoy Biking, sledding, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and more on location.
