15TH FAIRWAY OF BIG MEADOW GOLF COURSE WITH PEEK-A-BOO BLACK BUTTE VIEW
Will consider renting for a 3-4 night minimum August 15-17 (18) Only; or 10 nights August 15-24 if one week is just not enough!
Our cabin was remodeled in mid-2010 due to a pipe bursting in the winter. After 6 months of construction (whew!) we have a brand new kitchen/great room, master bedroom, and both baths as a result. The great room has new slate floors, the kitchen features Alder cabinetry with slab granite countertops and all LG stainless steel appliances, the baths have pebble or stone decorative countertops and insets in either the slate flooring or new enlarged master shower surround and copper vessel sinks, new carpeting, new paint, new light fixtures, new linens, and more!!! Check out more photos on Facebook: Black Butte Ranch Golf Home 141.
Nestled in a grove of Aspens on the 15th fairway of the Big Meadow golf course with a view of Black Butte from the wraparound deck, this charming cabin is perfect for families. Our cabin is ideally located at the end of a private drive off a secluded cul-de-sac in the heart of Black Butte Ranch just a short walk or bike ride to everything.
The interior has been tastefully designed with each room having its own unique theme. The loft master bedroom has a wrought-iron king-size bed with Ralph Lauren linens, a flat screen TV, sitting area and its own private slate bath. The great room features a Sisters Rodeo western styling with a lava rock fireplace, soaring raftered ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to Black Butte and the 15th Fairway, a 32" Samsung flat screen TV, leather sectional with recliners at both ends, and two stylish cowhide chairs with leather ottomans. The two main floor bedrooms are nicknamed the "Gone Fishin'" and "Quilt" rooms with twin beds in one room and a full-size wrought iron bed with a twin bed trundle in the other (all the board games and jigsaw puzzles are in the closet). There is a full bath downstairs. Just outside the main entry door to the left is the "Bunk Bear" room with a bunkbed that our kids and their friends especially enjoy as their own little hideaway. Now that they are teens they really like to get away and hang-out in the bunk room since it has a TV that they can hook their video games up to.
Our family has been coming to Black Butte since the very beginning as my husband's uncle was the President of the company that developed BBR. Our lot was hand-picked by him for his father (our children's great-grandfather) and has always stayed in the family. If you are looking for a truly-charming cabin experience then this is it! We have lovingly updated the interior over time with quality furnishings and accessories while retaining the original charm and character of the cabin. You will feel comfy in our cabin and will never want to leave. This is the second year that we are opening our cabin to rentals and the only people who have stayed here were friends/business associates of my husband who came together as two families and have returned year after year--their children mark off the days on a calendar after school ends counting the days until their trip to our cabin.
We have been bringing our three children here since before they were born and they love it! As young children they especially loved the Kids Camp at BBR and Friday Movie Night at the Barn (which was great for us adults too). Over the years, they have climbed Smith Rock, mountain biked, rode the horses on trail rides from the stables, white water-rafted, learned how to fly fish, skied HooDoo and Mt. Bachelor, won the July 4th lip-sinc contest, and one of our sons even won the Mutton Busting championship at the Deshutes County Fair (a greenhorn no less). Lately, they have taken to scouting out the other teens on the ranch. Our daughter always manages to buy-out the shops in downtown Sisters so now she's tackling Bend.
Over the years my husband and I have discovered all the great restaurants such as The Blacksmith, Jen's Garden, and Kokanee Cafe. My favorite spot in the world is at The Lodge pool on a lounge chair looking out over the lake, across the meadow with romping horses and ranging cattle, through the tree line to the looming Three Sisters, Brokentop and Mt. Washington mountains. The new Glaze Meadows Pool has recently become our teens favorite hang-out and the spa and shop there are wonderful. There is a place.....and it is our cabin at Black Butte Ranch.

Map & Owner's Profile
Charming Cabin/15th Fairway Big Meadow Golf Course
Year Purchased: 1972
Why the Owner Chose Black Butte Ranch
My Grandfather decided to take a risk and invest in his son's (my Uncle's) major development project which is now known as Black Butte Ranch. The plaque above the entry to The Lodge bears his name. We have enjoyed watching BBR rise from the ground up into one of the premiere resorts in Oregon.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Whether its sitting on the deck watching the golfers go by, our children hunting for their (the golfers) lost golf balls to add to their collection, watching a doe with her two spotted fawns meander by (as one just did while writing this), being sprinkled with pine cone remnants from an industrious squirrel overhead in the Ponderosa Pines that surround our cabin, feeding the chickadees by hand, watching the hummingbirds at the feeder, gazing at the stars at night, swinging in the hammock with as many family members as can fit, or enjoying the golf course and mountain view, we always feel relaxed and refreshed when we visit our cabin. We never want to go home and have unpacked the car more than a few times and stayed...as I write we were supposed to head home Wednesday and now it's Sunday and we have to go home now but still don't want to...
Owner's Map of Black Butte Ranch
Our family lives in the Seattle area on the Eastside. My wife has her own Commercial Real Estate Appraisal firm and I am in Sales Management for a Mobile Software company. Black Butte is our getaway, although we often end up working out of the cabin. I can tell you there is no better place to take a conference call than swinging in the hammock. We have three teenagers who have literally grown up at Black Butte and tell us they would rather sell our home in Woodinville than ever give up our place at BBR. That is not likely to happen as we have had our BBR home in our family since the very beginning of Black Butte Ranch.

We just returned from an amazing family vacation and we couldn’t have been luckier to have selected this home. We considered several properties and reviewed lots of online pictures. To say we made the right choice is an understatement; Linda was accommodating, easy to work with and best of all the home was even better than the pictures. It’s obvious a family loves this home and has made it a special sanctuary in Black Butte Ranch. We plan to make this home a regular getaway for our family to enjoy everything that BBR and the surrounding area has to offer. Our favorite activities on this trip were the swimming pools, bike riding, tennis, family walks, golf, fly fishing at Camp Sherman and the great meals both at BBR property and near by.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

We have made this cabin "our" cabin. We have returned every summer for the last 6 years. Our two boys start asking when is "Black Butte" in January. My oldest says his heart palpitates as soon as he sees the road to the cabin. Great family activities on the ranch; pool, basketball, soccer, baseball, bike trails, golf and more. Plus there are great adventures outside the ranch; lava tubes, river rafting, hiking. We have yet to leave the ranch for those adventures, but keep telling ourselves we will one of these years, but we are always having too much fun. The accommodations are well kept and look just like the photos. I can't wait for the hammock and a great book!
