Mountain View Cottage has become one of Salt Spring Island's most popular vacation cottages. Visitors love the interior décor, from the ocean touches of bright yellows, soft sea foam greens and white painted wainscoting, to the beds fitted with 100% high thread count cotton sheets, the fluffy towels and luxurious comforters. Comments often include the phrase, "a piece of paradise," "very private & romantic" and "beyond our expectations."
Mountain View Cottage is located on Salt Spring Island on a quiet 12 acre parcel, 1000 feet above sea level, overlooking Mount Maxwell and the Fulford Valley. Its large west facing deck is accessed from the living room and master bedroom via double French doors and includes a BBQ and a built-in hot tub, where you can sit and watch the sunset or gaze at the stars by night.
Since we are surrounded by parks and protected crown land, the property is a great spot to do some hiking & bird watching. The cottage has a lovely meadow in front of the deck where you can sit & watch the deer families roaming freely. Some of the bird sightings have been of eagles, turkey vultures, hawks, gold finches, red-breasted sapsuckers, grouse, hummingbirds and many more.
The cottage is completely private, and there are no other buildings in sight, only nature.

Why the Owner Chose Salt Spring Island
Salt Spring has always been a favorite destination for my husband and me for a romantic getaway, just the two of us, or with the whole family. Over the years we fell in love with the island and its amazing and diverse community of musicians, artists, artisans and farmers. We enjoy visiting the famous Saturday market for locally grown produce and flowers. It was always our dream to move here and now, we are living the dream.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
The cottage was built in 2004 by local island prize winning builders with the highest standards. It is tastefully decorated, well equipped and has pleased all of our guests (see our website for guest comments). The cottage is very private with no houses or telephone wires in view. The stunning panoramic view is of Mount Maxwell and you can enjoy sunsets from the hot tub and the deck. We are located 15 minutes from Ganges village, 10 minutes from Fulford Harbour, 5 minutes to either Cusheon or Stowel Lake for great swimming. If a spa treatment is what you desire, we can recommend a spa 4 minutes away. There are many nature trails nearby to enjoy, with spectacular views.
