Mas Cortalot is an old apple farm half a mile from the medieval village of Arles sur Tech. It lies in its own private and idyllic 30 acre valley with orchards, river and woodlands. The property is at an altitude of 300m with stunning views over the 2700m Canigou Mountain Range and has direct access to the GR10 footpath which crosses the Pyrenees Mountains form the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean.

With its rolling lawns, 4mx9m pool, swimming in the river and a 3.5m trampoline Mas Cortalot is ideal for family holidays. The property is completely private and is reached by a 400m farm track which runs along a beautiful river, the nearest neighbours are goats and geese. Walking to town is a ten minute treat with stunning views all around.

Mas Cortalot is just a 10 minutes drive from the busy market town of Amélie les Bains, and the picturesque town of Ceret is less than 20 minutes away. The new highway to the beaches gets you to the Mediterreanean in about 40 minutes.

The house has recently been beautifully restored by local craftsmen and is light and cozy with exposed beams, terra-cotta floors and stone walls. The house is on three floors with an apartment on the top floor.

The apartment has its own enterance and consists of a double bedroom with balcony, kitchen cum sitting room, and a luxury standard bathroom. The apartment is rented out all year and ideal for a couple. Young children can sleep on the sofa bed in the apartment kitchen.

The house and apartment are rented out as one holiday home during the summer. The main house has a large open plan solid oak kitchen/ dining room, a sitting room, a play room, two double bedrooms, a single bedroom, plus two bathrooms, laundry room, etc.

Including the apartment, the surface area of the house is around 250m2 plus there is a 80m2 covered patio for summer dining and relaxing. There are four different outside dining areas all furnished, plus huge meadows and riverbanks for picnics.

Arles sur Tech is off the main tourist path, yet it is just a short drive from the Spanish Costa Brava and the charming town of Perpignan. With a population of 2000, Arles sur Tech has a little supermarket, several shops, and restaurants. Throughout the year there are many festivals and in the summer there are afternoon dances at the local riverside restaurant. In the centre of the town lies a 12thc abbey and cloister. Its miraculous healing waters are famous in France.

The house, including the apartment is available in the summer holidays, the apartment is available throughout the year on a weekly or nightly basis.
