Our Loft, which sleeps up to 8 people, is now available for vacation rental. It's situated in the heart of downtown Pau, on the pedestrian street of Maréchal Foch, which is packed with stores, restaurants and cafés. The museum, movies, a playground, a casino, and the famous castle of King Henry IV, are all within walking distance. The Loft is fully furnished, with a modern kitchen, French antique furniture from Louis Philippe era, an HD TV, internet, a computer, and a library. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to spend your next vacation in France.
We guarantee you a comfortable, relaxing, cost-sensible vacation, with unforgettable and rich experiences in French culture and French living. You may do grocery shopping at Les Halles, a 10-minute walk from the loft, where locally produced organic vegetables and fruits are available at very affordable prices in addition to the best cheeses made of milk from free-range cows and sheep raised in the Pyrénées. Local mouth-watering French pastries and desserts can be bought in boulangeries at every corner of the street around the loft.
There are certainly LOTS of shopping opportunities within walking distance. In addition to the large European chain stores such as ZARA, IKKS, Pimki, Galeries Lafayette, etc., visitors often take pleasure in shopping at the local public market at Verdun Square, a 15 minute walk from the loft, for the latest French fashion at incredibly affordable prices. The Tour de France (TDF) passes every July in front of the loft.
If you decide to rent a car during your stay, you'll find lots of attractive places within a 2-hour drive: toward the south, you'll cross the French-Spanish border and arrive in Spain to experience another culture altogether; toward the east, you'll find the world-famous ski resorts as well as lots of nice hiking routes in the heart of the Pyrénées; toward the west, you'll reach the beaches in Biarritz and St-Jean-de-Luz where Hollywoodiens choose to vacation, and toward the northwest, you'll arrive in the wine city of Bordeaux, where you'll see some breath-taking mansions, miles of vineyards, and be invited for wine-tasting.

Modern French Loft in the Heart of the Pyrenees City Pau

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
Pau is a modern but very traditional city. As an American myself, I enjoy the authentic French living style provided by Pau (as oppose to Paris, for example). People are warm, friendly and polite, with a lot to offer. People eat well in Pau! Wonderful food and taking time to eat are the basics of life here. I learned to eat with pleasure (instead of counting the calories), and have been exposed to real French cooking. People truly enjoy life here! At dusk, there are always people at all ages walking, jogging along the Boulevard des Pyrénées, while enjoying the view of the magnificent cascade of the Pyrénées. In local cafés, there are always people drinking coffee or sipping beer while spending time with friends or simply taking time to relax. The surrounding area is very diverse, equally modern and authentic, each with its own characteristics. We often take a day trip to the Pyrénées, hiking and picnicking during summer, skiing or tubing during winter. A day trip to the beaches in Biarritz, to take the "petit train" in St-Jean-de-Luz with kids, or to Spain to get the delicious Spanish sausages or designers' shoes of the latest fashion at affordable prices. In short, life in Pau is easy, fun, rich in culture, and consequently happy and healthy.

I have stayed at this apartment for 2 months and I can say I enjoyed the large living room and spacious modern kitchen. I especially enjoyed the location (in the centre of Pau). Communication with landlord was always pleasant and helpful; she was always there at hand to assist whenever needed. I can highly recommend this property.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children.

We stayed in the apartment for several nights during the 2011 Tour de France. It was a wonderful location. We found the small grocery store across the street had everything we could possibly want. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. If we were ever to be in Pau again, we would definitely stay here.

We were on a relocation visit to Pau. The loft was a perfect place to stay for all our city needs. We loved the cheerful decoration and the large living area of the flat. The owner provided a very informative and timely reply and the key keeper provided a warm and informative welcome. The apartment was fully equipped and felt like a real home for us. I think that the hidden secret was a gorgeous little view of the fabulous Pyrenees mountain chain. We hope to come back again…
