A beautiful, relaxing place to stay in a great location
A beautiful, relaxing place to stay in a great location
My husband and I stayed here for four nights in late June. We were really delighted with the condo; I found it even more spacious, attractive, and luxurious than the online photos suggested. Highlights were: Peace and quiet -- we never heard a sound from the surrounding units. A well equipped kitchen. (Surprisingly, we ate most of our meals in. Although, there are lots of restaurants very close by.) I loved the thoughtful details like having the kitchen basics there: tea, coffee (filters and grinder), sugar, salt, pepper, soaps for dishwasher and laundry, paper towels, dish cloths, etc). Also, there was a wheelie-shopper -- perfect for a heavy groceries, like soda and beer. Location, location. We felt that we were in the centre of Grace Bay, with everything within easy walking: a good grocery store, bakery, banks, shops, bakery, pharmacy, etc. there is no need to rent a car except to see some other part of the island. The pool (never crowded) and little fitness centre (always empty). The staff, both Mel who let us into the unit and the staff at the desk, were very pleasant and helpful.

This has to be one of the most beautiful resorts in all of the Caribbean. Our initial check-in went smoothly with drinks to greet us. Once you enter the resort, you'll come across a modest pool that had the perfect water temperature; swimming here was one of the most relaxing parts of our trip. As you take the walkway out to the beach, your breath will be taken away. Since we went during their off season, the beaches were hardly inhabited so we were always able to get chairs and umbrellas. There was a server who came to the beach every hour or so to see if we wanted drinks but it was no problem walking back up to their bar to get one either. Our room was immaculate and spacious. We had 1 bedroom, 1 bath in addition to a living room with a flat screen TV in both rooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and a balcony. The resort has many incredible restaurants and other shops within walking distance so renting a car isn't necessary. We walked the beach at sunset to all of our restaurants and felt safe the entire time. The resort doesn't have a restaurant, gym, or some other amenities bigger resorts might offer, but we didn't mind since we weren't looking to spend all our time at the resort. Nicola was incredible throughout our entire stay. She made sure we had everything needed upon check-in and stopped occasionally to ask us if we needed anything during our stay. We left a pair of expensive eye glasses behind and feared they wouldn't be returned from past experiences when traveling; however, we reached out to Nicola and she kindly found and returned the glasses. It's the small but important things like this that has us wanting to return to this resort and the Turks for future getaways. We'll certainly be returning hopefully sooner than later and you can bet we'll be contacting Nicola to help us.

A Perfect Beach Vacation
A Perfect Beach Vacation
I stayed in a 1 bedroom garden view suite at the Villa Renaissance with my sister and elderly mother. I wanted to make this an extra special vacation because my mother has not been able to travel for a very long time. You're never quite sure what to expect even after reading glowing reviews, but everything was perfect, even exceeding expectations. I had a good feeling from my initial communication with Nicola who was extremely efficient and friendly. On our arrival, we were greeted by Mel, a wonderful lady who was most helpful throughout our stay. Our unit was spacious, well-appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable for the 3 of us. We loved the balcony overlooking the pretty garden and we appreciated having both the option of air-con and fans in all the rooms. The unit was extremely quiet, we never heard anyone. The grounds and the pool at Villa Renaissance are absolutely gorgeous and meticulously cared for. There is a quiet elegance about the place that makes for a very beautiful and peaceful vacation. The building is very tasteful and I preferred its architectural style and lower height to the Regent next door and the Seven Stars a bit further down the beach. We all agreed that we liked "our" section of Grace Bay Beach the best. It is more peaceful and less built-up than the stretch towards Beaches Resort and the other direction between Seven Stars and Club Med. Though that being said, the entire Grace Bay Beach is absolutely amazing -one of the nicest beaches in the world. We did not have a car and this wasn't a problem at all staying at Villa Renaissance. There are many good restaurants in easy walking distance and a grocery store with everything you need to put together some of your own meals. The unit even came equipped with a little grocery cart - a very useful and thoughtful touch. We ate at The Bay Bistro, Mango Reef, Lemon Cafe, Grace's Cottage, Thai Orchid and Caicos Cafe. They were all good to very good - Bay Bistro has a wonderful beachside ambiance, Lemon is good if you like Moroccan/Middle Eastern food, Grace's Cottage beautiful but very expensive. From a food quality/taste perspective, Caicos Cafe was our favourite. Villa Renaissance was an absolutely perfect choice for our family to enjoy a quiet, stress-free holiday with great service and that wonderful beach! Highly recommended!

A Wonderful Stay!
A Wonderful Stay!
Our stay was from November 9th - November 16th, 2010. We rented our condo through VRBO again this trip. We were in unit 504 which was a second floor, garden view condo - spotless and simply gorgeous. We were met at our exact arrival time by Mel, a representative of the management company. She gave us our keys and showed us around the unit. After she left we had an issue with the safe and she came right back to help. It's comforting to know that the management company is a stones throw away and is there within a few short minutes after giving them a call. She was also there every day to leave fresh towels and tidy the condo. The condo was a one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit, living area, kitchen equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need. Nice granite countertops, stainless appliances, beautiful wine glasses, etc. We love this resort for a handful of reasons - it's very quiet, the staff is happy and helpful, the resort is centrally located to seven or eight dining options all within short walking distance, the beach is simply gorgeous and everything about this resort is clean and well thought out. The waves were incredible during our stay and we spent most days lounging on the beach with the surf rushing up to our beach chairs, which was a lot of fun. Most days breakfast was at the Saltmills Diner, which is across the street from the VR. Cappachino and an egg and cheese on an english muffin is my favorite with my husband favoring two eggs over easy with bacon, home fries and toast. We did have breakfast at Hemingway's for a change of pace twice during our stay and it was good there as well. We had wings and veggie rolls from Thai Orchid for lunch one day which were yummy. Dinners were at The Vix, Pizza Pizza La Terraza, Hemingway's, Yoshi's Japanese Steak House and Bella Luna, and all meals were great, but I think Yoshi's was my favorite - it's always fun to eat with chopsticks. As a point of reference to the VR, all of these restaurants but Hemingway's are in very short walking distance to the VR. Hemingway's is within walking distance, but it's a bit further than the other restaurants. Lunch on our way back to the airport was at Da Conch Shack. I can't think of a better way to get one last "ahhhhhh" than sitting at a picnic table and gazing at that gorgeous water, eating conch chowder and conch fritters. Having stayed at other resorts during prior visits, now that we've found Villa Renaissance, we've found our Providenciales home.
