We have been coming to the Sierra for 30 years. Once we had children and started coming regularly for weekend trips during the summer and winter, we were thrilled to become homeowners. Our kids have become excellent skiers, bikers and hikers and love the mountains, too. The Bear Creek area of Alpine Meadows is a little known treasure! It is a wonderful place in every season. You truly feel like you are somewhere else - it is quiet and peaceful. The perfect place to walk the dogs and play with your kids. The panoramic views of the mountains are stunning during every season. From our home, you are a 5-minute walk to one of the greatest hikes in the Tahoe area: The 5-Lakes Trail. It is an amazingly beautiful hike to at least five lakes for swimming and is do-able with kids and dogs.
From the deck of our home you hear the rush of water from Bear Creek just below. You can look down the valley and know you are far from the maddening crowd. The home has a gourmet kitchen with every tool and amenity including 2 convection ovens and a Wolf range cooktop. The home is furnished to truly feel like you've entered a refined lodge. The kids bunk room sleeps 5 in rustic style. The lower wing was recently remodeled and includes high-end fixtures and finishes including granite, stone and mahogany. The master bedroom feels far away from the kids and kitchen. The master bath includes an indoor hot tub and sauna plus a two-head shower. The master bedroom windows and sky lights tower as high as the pine trees so you feel like you're sleeping under the stars.
The home has quick access to the main road that takes you either up to the ski area or down to the bike path and road that lead to Squaw Valley and Tahoe City. During the summer, our family bikes to Squaw Valley and Tahoe City for the great food, concerts and shopping in both areas. The bike path parallels the Truckee River which makes it a scenic and cool way to get to your next fun activity. Tahoe City and Squaw have great outdoor concerts and movies during the summer. You're a close drive to great golf, mini-golf, spas, and shopping.
We wish we could live in Bear Creek year-round. School, work and life don't allow that so we hope you will enjoy our beautiful home. It is a truly special place.

Why the Owner Chose Alpine Meadows
Bear Creek is close enough to everything we like to do and it is also far enough away from the crowds. It is a perfect blend of ease of access and solitude, too.
The Unique Benefits of this Mountain House
We are a 15 minute drive to Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City so we can water ski and go out on the lake. We ride our bicycles almost everyday in the summer from our home to the bike trail that parallel the Truckee River. We ride to Squaw Valley and Tahoe City to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, outdoor concerts and movies and to get exercise. It is a great way to get around for our whole family. There is horseback riding at the bottom of the Alpine Meadows road and we do at least a yearly trail ride. We have the best of both worlds.
