- Gregory Town has a music scene. Now famous Elvina's Bar located at the top of the hill from Cove House, has what the natives call a "Rake n' Scrape" two nights a week. Really it's an open mike night but you never know who will show up. Musicians from all over the Island show up. Singer-song writer Lenny Kravitz has a studio in Gregory Town and members of his band rock the house when they are on the Island. Into music? Bring your instrument and join in!

Why the Owner Chose Gregory Town
Cove House has been my family's adventure headquarters ever since my Father purchased this home in 1973. Originally a tomato cannery then one of the Islands only dry goods store then destroyed by Hurricane Betsy in the 1960's. My Father and Mother found this gem on their second vacation to Eleuthera. They always joked about finding a fixer upper. But when they took one look at this classic example of turn of the century Bahamian architecture laying in ruin beside this picturesque cove it's quiet waters shimmering they knew this was the place they had always been looking for. Thus began my family's project that has lasted more than three decades.
This is the precise location of the property, right on the beautiful town cove.
One of the largest system of caves in the Caribbean more than a mile long with stalagmites and stalactites galore, this historical cave is a must to check out writings that date back to the 1800's. Bring flashlights!!!! You will not be able to see or get very far otherwise.
One of the most gorgeous beaches on the island. Community Pig Roast celebration every spring.
Spoil yourself pool and beachside with a day of relaxation, swim up to the pool bar for a delicious Mojito or Rumrunner. The Cheeseburger and Lamb Chops are delicious!
A little bit of a rough ride but a great spot for surfing and diving, pretty much need a truck to get there.
Harbor Island is the "place to be" in Eleuthera. Take a 5 minute boat taxi over to this small gorgeous, rent a golf cart, and check out the famous pink sand beaches, nosh in some of the best restaurants the Bahamas has to offer, and gawk at the gorgeous yachts. Enjoy the famous Bahamian celebration Junk-a-noo over the holidays.
Humorously named after the American convenience store, they have your basic grocery needs and is walking distance to the house.
Referred to as the Narrowest Place on Earth, The Glass Window Bridge is one of Eleuthera's more popular attractions. Be careful here though, huge Rage waves, although amazing to see, have been known to appear out of no where and sweep people away, just a little precaution.
Eleuthera is known for having some of the best surfing spots in the Bahamas and Surfer's Beach is the most widely known surf break on the island.
Get all your souvenir needs here, including gorgeous locally made items. If you would like to recycle your cans while in Eleuthera, drop them off here and all proceeds go to the school! Woohoo!
A bumpy long road but worth the trek if you love sea turtles! Bottom Harbor Beach Club is also down here, grab a drink and walk on the beach, as cute little sea turtles pop their heads up everywhere!

My wife, Donna and I along with our two adult children spend as much time in Gregory Town as possible. We enjoy surfing, diving and fishing. Every day is an adventure. But most of all we love the healthy laid back Island life. The Bahamian people make each trip special. The are truly some of the most friendly people in the world.
