The 'Hawkins House' is a spacious bluff-top home with spectacular 180 degree coastal views. There are sweeping ocean views from expansive windows in the living room, dining room/kitchen, and bedrooms. While immersed in the ocean's beauty, upon the rhythmic coastal whitewater waves, you may encounter flocks of brown pelicans soaring in flight, Grey whales spouting in migration, or fishing vessels cruising on the coastline. Looking out on the home's wildflower covered bluff, you may gaze upon white-tailed deer grazing, a line of quail scuttling, or a seagull catching a drift-suspended in flight.
The Pacific Ocean is calling you throughout this spacious comfortable home. Dine with ocean sunset views overlooking Castle Rock each evening. Relax in the hot tub looking down on the roaring ocean, or looking up at the starry night sky. Warm yourself by the wood-burning fireplace in the cozy living room. The lower level master bedroom has a private entrance to the two-level deck with oceanfront views from your bed. In addition, the third bedroom has an ocean view. The private master bedroom suite with king bed is perched high, capturing the panoramic oceanfront views up and down the coast-from Anchor Bay to Gualala Point. The sound of the ocean will lull you to sleep.
Nearby beach access which also has hiking trails include- Gualala Point Regional Park, Salar Trail, Shell Beach, Walk-On Beach, and Pebble Beach. The Gualala River, Bower Community Park, and the community airport are just several minutes drive from the home. Other points of interest are Salt Point State Park, Point Arena Pier, Point Arena Lighthouse and the Gualala Arts Center.
The home is in the perfect location with magical forests, sandy beaches, great shopping, and fine restaurants all within just a few minutes drive. It is 1/2 mile North of the small town of Gualala, an hour South of Mendocino and, approximately two 1/2 hours North of San Francisco. This peaceful ocean home where forest meets the sea, is in the Banana Belt which has more temperate climate and less fog. The Hawkins House is such a treasure-with Pacific oceanfront views throughout.

We had a fantastic stay at the Hawkins House. The location is ideal being so close to the little village of Gualala, as well as nearby beaches.. The oceanfront views from all the windows in the home are magnificent! From the first level master bedroom, you can look out over the ocean from the bed without even lifting your head. We enjoyed dining each night overlooking a gorgeous sunset. In the hot tub, the clear starry sky is above and the ocean roars below. This ocean home is spacious, well kept, and very clean. Thanks for sharing your home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Spectacular ocean view during the day, and we had great stars from all three nights in the hot tub. Wonderfully soothing to hear the ocean rhythms all night. A beautiful spot! The (gas) "wood stove" did a fine job of heating the main room, we found the upstairs master bedroom very comfortable. The main floor vertical blinds need some serious attention and reconsideration, i.e. update blinds to something more functional and 21st century. (Re-hole punching the other end of the blind?? Really?) We did not use the kitchen, nor the other guest rooms, so cannot comment on those amenities. We recommend liberating the teddy bears from their closet confinement at the beginning of your stay. "Trinks" in Gualala is good dinner & breakfast, and try their gelato! Amazing! We enjoyed St.Orres too, although slightly pricey for what one gets, i.e. it's a touch casual for the price you're paying.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Few words can describe the view from the Hawkins House. We arrived at night:to the sound of crashing waves pounding against the rocks. Needless to say we slept soundly! However, the morning came and light showed us what was just outside our windows. It is truly magnificent!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

It has been another glorious stay at your oceanfront retreat on the North Coast: the weather magnificent, the wildlife cooperative, and the enchanting pull of the Pacific-constant, yet ever changing. We feel so fortunate that you share this little piece of "heaven on earth" with us and our children, so we can escape the mundane and unwind. Soaking in the hot tub with the ocean view and the conveniences of home so close, keep our family returning year after year. We have nothing but gratitude to you for opening your home and providing us this escape.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We enjoyed our two night stay very much. Best ocean view in the world. A wonderful escape from the routine of daily life. The town of Gualala is 'just right', and the hiking areas at Gualala Regional Park are great. My son and I enjoyed the spa just like two years ago. This house and this place are a treasure.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Since our family is so far apart, we don't often get to see each other. Your home was the perfect place for our family to re-connect. We went for a nice jog around the area, went in the hot tub, and had a great barbecue. We went to the beach and saw sea urchins and starfish. We had four wonderful dinners while watching the breathtaking sunsets from the dining room. The vastness of the ocean is such an incredible reminder of God's might! So many memories in this house. It was good to be back, can't wait to come back again. Thank you so much for sharing your home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
