Just a stone's throw to the plaza, a one-bedroom vacation rental suite is tucked behind one of Ashland's charming craftsman-style bungalows. Your private gated entrance, located behind the house, opens onto a peaceful garden and quaint patio - a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee and the newspaper, or a glass of wine in the evening. In the summer and fall, help yourself to the ripe tomatoes, fresh herbs and fruit growing in the garden. The owner has lovingly created a sanctuary-like space within the town's premier historic district. Step back in time and enjoy a quiet retreat away from TVs and phones. (A wireless connection is available for your laptop should you wish.)
Your separate, attached one-bedroom retreat awaits and features fine linens, cozy robes, a private bath and a fully-stocked kitchenette including organic tea, coffee, cream and sugar. Step inside: a cool, restful palette adorns a tastefully furnished room that includes period pieces such as an arts-and-crafts style armoire. You'll find a quiet, comfortable bedroom that overlooks an enchanted, fragrant flower garden. This inviting space features wood and tile floors, a ceiling fan, an A/C unit, wall and space heaters, and plenty of windows so that you can take advantage of the abundant natural light and fresh mountain air. The bungalow is kept exceptionally clean using homemade, environmentally-friendly cleaners and a HEPA air purifier. Sorry, no smoking or pets.
The on-site owner has been a resident of Ashland for the past thirteen years. Your privacy is my utmost priority. If desired, I would be happy to guide you nearby hiking and biking trails, farmer's markets, wineries, hot springs and locally-grown organic food. I am also happy to supply you with anything you need during your stay.
Ashland highlights such as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Lithia Park, Cabaret Theater, downtown plaza, restaurants, shops, and movie theaters are all within a lovely 10 - 15 minute walk. You'll stroll through a level, shaded historic neighborhood and cross a bridge over the gentle waters of Ashland Creek on your way there!
To maximize your privacy, cleaning services are not included as part of your stay. Fresh linens will be provided to those guests staying one week or longer. The Stone's Throw Bungalow is an eco-friendly establishment. We encourage walking, biking, carpooling, bus riding, conservation, recycling and other practices that lessen your impact on the earth during your stay.

Stone's Throw Bungalow ~ Charming Craftsman, Walk to Theaters
Great hiking trails with beautiful views. Take Scenic to Logan, then look for the rustic steps leading up the hillside at the end of the cul-de-sac past the last driveway.
One of my favorite places for breakfast! Real maple syrup for their delicious waffles, homemade biscuits, friendly staff and an outdoor patio. Easy walk from the bungalow.
A nice little neighborhood park with excellent seating areas, picnic tables, and a playground. Take a stroll here at night to see the stars.
A nice neighborhood park with grassy areas, picnic tables and a playground. The art wing is open during First Friday art walks.
This is my favorite place to pick up a cappucino and a croissant in the morning. Their drinks are consistently delicious! A taste of Europe just blocks from the bungalow.
Pop in for a glass of wine and a light bite before or after your OSF play.
There are many ways to enjoy the festival - grab a rush seat or find a seat on the lawn for the free summer evening Green Shows.
Save some timefor a walk through Lithia Park. Beautiful, easy trails lead you up Ashland Creek. Guided tours begin at the entrance on designated days at 10:00 am.
This restaurant has a great GREEN business model. Enjoy salads, sandwiches, pizzas, entrees, and microbrews. On Saturday mornings, check out the farmer's and crafter's market right outside their door.
A developed hot spring with swimming pool, warm pool, sauna and steam room. Clothing optional at night. Open six days a week from 8:30 am - midnight. Women's night on Monday night.

A Beautiful Escape

My expectations of what would be upon my arrival were blown away! Karin has created a beautiful oasis that allows you to relax and enjoy the beauty that she has created. The garden was beautiful and it was so peaceful to sit out in the mornings and soak up the sunshine, birds and flowers. The cottage itself was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. Looking up at stars was a delight to drift into sleep at the end of the day. When I came home I immediately told a friend who is going to Ashland in September about this little peace of heaven, as I know they would enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you Karin and I look forward to returning in the future.
Owner response:I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the peacefulness of the garden in the mornings. It's one of my favorite spots, too. Thank you for referring your friend - I look forward to meeting them and I hope to see you again in the future.

My daughter and I stayed here in June 2011 for four nights while attending workshops at OSF. It's a lovely 15-20 minute walk to the theaters - helpful exercise when enjoying the many great restaurants in Ashland! The cottage is beautifully appointed and the garden is a little slice of paradise. Nights were completely quiet and we always felt totally safe, even while walking home after late shows. Karin has that rare and perfect balance of concern and respect for her guests' privacy, and we look forward to returning to her hospitality.
Owner response:Thank you - it was a pleasure having you here. I'm so glad that you were able to sample some of Ashland's outstanding restaurants and that you enjoyed the great walk to town (I know I do!) I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with others. I look forward to your return.

From your first e-mail to our departure, you created a welcoming and perfectly appointed stay. Your personal and caring touch is apparent in everything - the organic bath products, the seasonal floral arrangements, the inviting furnishings, and the lovely garden. We loved being here! Thank you.

Our stay in your very beautiful bungalow couldn't have been more perfect! You have tended to absolutely every little detail to make one's stay so comfy. How we enjoyed taking our coffee out to your sunny little garden each morning to enjoy it among your oasis of flowers! We long to return as three days was surely not enough to enjoy your sweet city - so much here we have yet to experience. As sis-in-laws for many, many years we've done our fair share of travel together, but we must return here. Thank you.

What a quaint and cute place to stay! Loved the garden - sunflowers and hummingbirds with my morning coffee! And so close to the plaza and park. Thank you for everything - sweets, treats, and a warm welcome to this gorgeous town. We will be back. All the best!
