Why the Owner Chose Florence
We have always wanted a floating cabin and when the opportunity came to us disguised in an advertisement that read "Sunken Floating Cabin for sale", we could not resist. We are builders by trade and were up to the challenge of removing a submerged cabin from the lake and replacing it with a brand new one of the same size. We have built this one of a kind retreat for ourselves and will share it with others on a limited basis.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The most relaxing get-a-way is just floating on the lake!!!

Simply.... we had a WONDERFUL time! My husband and I stayed for one last get away before having our baby and wished we could have stayed for a full week. We slept in every morning, drank our coffee on the deck, read, watched movies and made wonderful meals. My husband loved going out on the deck every few hours and throwing his line in the water and catching a variety of fish. We had every modern amenity we could think of, including internet if he had wanted to use it.

My wife and I had the most amazing weekend at The Lily Pad. To begin with, Marv and Darlene are very gracious people, and made our stay so comfortable. They picked us at the dock at the appointed time and delivered us to the cabin a mile and a half away, pointing out sights along the way. After we arrived we were shown around the cabin and instructed on all the great features. And what features!! The photos do not do justice to this magnificent property!! The cabin was extremely clean and the craftmanship very well done. Everything you need is there From the well stocked kitchen to the two flat screen TV's, from the queen size bed to the BBQ, it was all there. We stayed for two nights, surrounded by water, birds, otters. beavers and complete silence. The weather was great so we spent lots of time on the deck just staring at the calm water and taking in the beauty. Just emagine how beautiful the stars can be at night when there is no lights to over shadow them. It was incredible to see!! We did not bring a canoe or small boat with us...and that was fine. We just enjoyed the solitude and time away to be with each other on Chistmas. We could have easily stayed longer and mabe next time we will. If you are looking for some real down time, or just want to escape the hustle and bustle of life....We highly recomend The Lily Pad!!!

The pictures do not do this property justice! You have to experience it. This is the greatest place to chill, especially if you want to be away from people and closer to nature. As soon as we pulled into the private cove, we felt our heart rate go into the relax zone. Our only neighbors were eagles, ospreys and hawks--and the fish that hung out in the lily pads. This is a well built property with extreme attention to detail. Great furnishings--light and bright--windows everywhere. We always dreamed of staying at a place like this. The owners are gracious and welcoming--we're glad they had the vision and now they are willing to share this piece of paradise with others. Thanks Marv and Darlene.

After reading so many reviews saying, "we wish we'd stayed longer!", we reserved six nights at the Lily Pad and didn't regret it! The house is an environmentalist's dream: on-demand hot water, solar power, composting toilet and beautiful surroundings in a protected cove. We saw 20 kinds of birds, caught large-mouth bass, canoed every morning when the winds were light, and watched the local beaver family much on lily pads every evening like clockwork. There was very little boat traffic by the house and only one distant neighbor -- so quiet you can hear birds' wings flapping. It's rare to find a place where you can really get off the grid and relax. Many thanks to the generous hosts who open this delightful place to us! Expect to be met at the boat dock, ferried over with all your belongings, and get a great tour of the house before being left alone in bliss. Bring a boat or rent one from the local B&B (they dropped it off for us!). This house sands out as one of our favorite VRBO finds and we expect to be back in the future. I'm annoyingly picky about accommodations, and I recommend the Lily Pad without reservation. Enjoy!

Wow! Loved the cabin. They thought of every detail (even the light on the stairs) when building this cabin. We had the most relaxing, enjoyable, fantastic time...EVER! The owners are so thoughtful & easy to make arrangements with. Our only compliant was that we had to leave. I don't think you could spend too much time there. We enjoyed paddling around in our rubber raft, fishing & exploring the lake. Truly an amazing experience & we plan on coming back!

Wow! Words cannot express how tranquil this lovely home is. Days creep by as slowly as the water is pristine. Wildlife galore is definately a treat! The cabin is darling and being out there without a boat was surprisingly relaxing. I loved not having my cell phone ring but had the option of wifi learning more about solar power was definately an eye opener and I think anyone who visits this home will see how easy it is. Very impressive. Marv and Darlene, you are awesome hosts and really enjoyed talking with you and look forward to seeing you again soon. I would recommend this to adults but not on the weekends we want it!!! Lol Mel and Jennifer. Roseburg, Oregon

My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay for three nights (wish we could have stayed longer). What an incredibly peaceful and relaxing getaway! The Lily Pad is spotless, comfortable, quiet, nicely appointed, and truly unique. We rented a boat for our stay (the Lily Pad owners helped us coordinate with the boat owners) and explored the lake, but we also caught a lot of fish right off the dock. We appreciated the extensive DVD collection and well-stocked kitchen. Thank you Marv & Darlene for sharing this special place with us . . . by far the most memorable vacation rental we've stayed at!

This was the most amazing 5 days of my life....so far. I needed to get away by myself and relax. I wanted "alone" time...and that's just what I got! The owners are very kind and helpful. They thought of everything! If I need something..it was there. All the furnishings are top notch and beautiful. The "Lily Pad" will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you so much for sharing this little piece of Heaven with me!
