Karen and Keith are the consummate "innkeepers". So many amenities were provided to our group - golf cart, linens, nicely equipped kitchen, phone, awesome beach and beautiful upper deck with grill, driftwood for bonfire at beach along with roasting forks for marshmallows, regulation horseshoe pits and so much more. I am very fussy when it comes to accommodations (they have to be clean), and I wasn't disappointed in the least. I was pleasantly surprised when their description of their property and pictures were as they stated as this has been a problem with other vacation rentals. Our group of best friends had an awesome time, and we all want to return next year. Thank you for a memorable vacation!

This is a great property for a family or just a group of friends. Lots of space and all the comforts of home. The owners take great pride in maintaining this property and were super friendly and helpful during the stay. Not only would I recommend this location to friends but I can't wait to get back there myself! Cell service was not great (being the lower level and right on the lake). I had to walk outside and up the hill to get reception but there is a separate phone (no long distance) available for use.

I am reluctant to share our experience at Palmetto Lodge because I would like to keep this secret for our group. However, I feel obligated to share so others may have the opportunity to experience this awesome place for themselves. Our group of Mothers & Daughters had a marvelous time celebrating our 31st Annual “Campout” at this spacious, private location overlooking Lake Erie. Awesome views, our own private beach and numerous amenities made this a luxurious, memorable vacation. Upon booking our stay, I was somewhat uneasy that we would be sharing a unit in someone’s home, however, that thought was quickly dispelled upon arrival. The accommodations are very private. Keith and Karen are not seen unless there is a need. We felt quite comfortable sunbathing, watching gorgeous sunsets, eating breakfast and grilling burgers and hot dogs on the huge deck overlooking the lake. The listing call this an apartment, however, it is more like a spacious home. Huge bedrooms, kitchen and living areas were very comfortable. The bathroom setup was perfect for our large group of "girls"- enough room for our beauty supplies and space for several of us to get ready at one time. The private beach was awesome and even those of us who are not “water babies” enjoyed the clear lake and the fact that it is mostly sandy and shallow enough for the most timid swimmer. We managed to have our mandatory flotilla of rafts with no trouble at all. As stated in a previous review there are plenty of towels, linens, chairs and wood for beach campfires. The huge parking area easily accommodated the "girls" who drove out for the day. Everyone in our group loved the place and on the very first day voted that "Palmetto Beach" should be the spot for our " 32nd Annual “Campout”! And hopefully years to come. Best wishes to Keith and Karen and a BIG THANK YOU!

I'm hard to please and have to say I was blown away by how great this rental was! The house was recently built. There was plenty of space for all to sleep, with room to spare. The owners said the appartment was fully stocked, and they weren't kidding. There were tons of extra blankets, towels, chairs for the beach...even things like sticks to roast marshmellows on a bonfire. We were pleasently surprised by being offered a golf cart to move our stuff from the parking lot to the doors of the house. Being a mom of a toddler, I happened to notice all the kids stuff they had available...portable crib, beach pack and play, child proofed outlets, toys, portable highchair, the works! This location has 1 bathroom, but its really big. It also has a shower outside with hot water. We had 18 girls needing to shower in a 2 hour time period and did not once run out of hot water, even if 2 people were showering at the same time! The view from the deck was beautiful. We felt like we were looking at the ocean. We were able to get some great pictures at sunset. I also recommend this location if you are planning a wine tour. We toured a couple wineries as well as bar crawled on the strip. We were even able to walk back from the strip as it is only about 1 mile away. (Please note there was an area without sidewalks) Karen and Keith were very friendly and able to help us with any needs. They even laughed when someone in our party accidentally walked into their house instead of the appartment. I highly recommend this property. I plan to book another trip here again next year.

Had the pleasure of staying here last summer with my family - comfortable and spacious accommodations in a fully furnished basement/first floor apartment. The secluded and lovely private beach makes this place worth every penny, and the owners, Karen and Keith, are very sweet and helpful without being intrusive. A note to those parents bringing children and counting on the video library to entertain the little one's (when they're not playing with the provided toys at the beach!) - it's small and leans heavily towards Christian titles. Overall an absolutely lovely place and highly recommended.
