Location: Vermilion, Ohio, USA (42 Minutes from Cleveland Hopkins Airport)
Accommodations: Cottage, 1 Bedroom + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)
Keywords: Lakefront Cottage
We have a lovely, very comfortable one bedroom, one bath unit that sleeps two, on a queen size bed. Our home is newly remodeled with a fantastic yard right on Lake Erie. The home is on a hill overlooking the lake with a million dollar view. There is no beach. There are several nice beaches close by. The unit is completely furnished and in a very convenient location. You can enjoy sitting in the large yard, relaxing, playing games, barbecuing and viewing the sunsets in the evening. There is a fire pit available and we also have bicycles.
Vermilion is a quaint little town situated right on Lake Erie with its own beach and boardwalk. We are located two miles from the Public Boat Ramp in Vermilion. The downtown area has several restaurants and ice cream parlors and a very popular French restaurant. The Great Lakes Maritime Museum is also located on the north end of town. There is usually something going on downtown during the summer months; such as Music in the Park, antique car shows, in June we have a Festival of the Fish and of course we cannot forget the internationally famous Woolly Bear Festival in the fall. Who would think a little orange and black worm could have its own festival.
We are 45 minutes from downtown Cleveland and 25 minutes from Cedar Point. Kalahari Water Park and Great Wolf Lodge are just as easily accessible. Catch a Ferry to the Lake Erie Islands, Put-in-Bay and Kelly's Island.
NEED MORE ROOM?
Our rental home is a duplex; therefore it would be a fantastic place for a family gathering. The second unit is a two bedroom with two full size beds and a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. Rental for both units would be $1100.00 per week.
The pictures are of our one bedroom one bath unit. Both units are very similar; in that they both have the knotty pine walls, but different furniture. The one bedroom has a queen size bed in the bedroom. This unit has been remodeled with new kitchen, corian counter tops and ceramic tile floors. You must be 25 years or older to rent. The calendar pertains to the one bedroom. We have a cozy two bedroom, one bath unit that sleeps four to six, with a full size bed in each of the two bedrooms; and a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room.

My husband and I spent our 6th year wedding anniversary at this Vermillion cottage. Was a very nice weekend. We spent time out in the backyard and stared out at Lake Erie for a nice relaxing get-away. This was our first time up in the Lake Erie area, so we tried to balance time at the cottage and walking around Vermillion and surrounding towns. Ellen and John (the owners) stopped by to say hi and were just next door if we needed anything. Cell phone and internet signals did not work while we were at the property, but further into town we could access the web to research the area and call home to check on things. We went to Chez Francois for our anniversary dinner. Service was slow that night (because the place was packed) - and while it took over 2-1/2 hours for our full dining experience, the food was very very good. We received a complimentary dessert to-go for our inconvenience that we enjoyed back at the cottage. I would definitely recommend staying at this Vermillion cottage and look forward to renting it again in the future. For the price, the view and for being less than 2 hours from Columbus - it was a very nice anniversary!

When you choose a place online, you never know for sure if what you see is what you get. Not so with this lovely cottage! It truly lived up to both its description and its photos. We rented the one bedroom and our son & his family rented the attached two bedroom. The owners were very pleasant to work with prior to our arrival and to chat with during our stay. They were friendly and knowledgeable and helped to make our stay even more enjoyable. The cottage is located right on the lake and the views were beautiful, especially the sunsets. Because of its location right above the lake, we would not recommend this location for very young visitors. Our grandkids are 11 and 8 and it worked out fine for them. Nearby Harbour Town was quite a nice little village and we were fortunate enough to be there for the "Third Thursday-Music, Flowers & Sunset." There was music in the air wherever we went, from folk music to classic rock and almost everything in between, including polka dancing! It's a great place to visit, dine and browse (lots of little interesting shops). All in all, we had a wonderful week and would love to return again some time.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin! It has a rustic charm, with wood paneled walls, comfy furniture, and a beautifully remodeled, fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed reading in lounge chairs on the huge beautiful lawn, which overlooks the lake. The view is spectacular. The neighborhood is very pleasant, with a convenience store close by. Beach access is just a few blocks away. The town of Vermilion is charming. We really liked that Maritime Museum.

My wife and I stayed here. We enjoyed the weather, and the view of Lake Erie. The sunsets on the lake were beautiful every evening. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We plan to return again this summer.

I have had the pleasure of staying at this location before it was remodeled and it's RIGHT ON THE LAKE. The sunsets are unbelievable (bring your camera). This place is centrally located in Vermilion as well as touristy stuff in surrounding cities. Cedar Point is a must! See you next year!
