Perfect Getaway!

This property was perfect for our gathering of 7 family members from ages 33 to 92, hailing from four different states. For our group it was truly a home away from home. We were in unanimous agreement that we were so much more comfortable than we ever could have been at a motel or even at a Bed & Breakfast. Everything was just as described and pictured. The property is elegant as well as comfy. The owner quickly and accurately answered the page long list of questions that I had down to suggesting a bakery where I ordered a delicious birthday cake for a family members 60th birthday celebration. Our 8 night trip included four days of wine tasting in Paso Robles, strolling the streets of Cambria and the beaches at Moonstone State Parklands, a day drive up Highway 1 with stops at the many beautiful spots along the coast and most importantly time to just kick back and relax with family. We ended up eating most dinners around the generous dining room table with our favorite bottles of wine purchased at the wineries we visited. We took advantage of the proximity of the property to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, a wonderful open space in the middle of Cambria, walking or jogging down to the bluff overlooking the ocean almost every day. But, the most exceptional thing about this property was the quiet there. The only recurring noise, the hoot of owls at night and cooing of mourning doves each dawn. I was amazed. My husband and I backpack in the wilderness of Montana to get this kind of peace and quiet and even then we sometimes hear jets flying over! A good time was had by all at this charming property!

A great experience and beautiful home. The home is clean, well-equipped and very tastefully decorated. There were five adults staying in the home and we all had space if we needed it. There was plenty of room for entertaining other friends who were also visiting the area. In addition to the many walking trails in Cambria and San Simeon, the Fiscallini Preserve is very close by. You can walk along the coast and see seals and occasionally an otter. It’s a five minute drive to Cambria, twenty minutes to Hearst Castle and thirty minutes to the Paso Robles vineyards. Although we ate in most of the time, there are many great restaurants in Cambria. The owners were delightful and easy to work with. Can’t wait to return!

Members of our book group stayed two nights at this property, and we had a wonderful time. The home is spacious and inviting, with many areas to sit and have conversations. We all commented on how much staying at this home enhanced our experience: we did not have to go to separate hotel rooms, and could stay up/sleep in as late as we wanted! The location is convenient to town and local attractiions, and the owners were terrific to work with. All in all, a great experience!

Amazingly clean and well appointed. Comfy leather chairs, sunken living room, log fire place, and beautiful art work make this vacation rental a relaxing place to stay. My 8 year old son liked the video games on Xbox and the twin waterbeds. My elderly mother-in-law enjoyed her queen waterbed as well. The master bath and bedroom with balcony made for a romantic retreat. My 18 year old stepdaughter loved the artsy-rustic neighborhood; a very nice place to take walks. The back yard space is small, but who cares when you have the beaches and the many walking trails. In comparison to a hotel or bed and breakfast, this is soooooooo much better; reasonably priced for all that you get. Friendly and helpful owners/managers. Visited Cambria the second weekend in June 2011. Weather was great, shorts and an occasional sweater.

We spent a fantastic and very relaxed weekend at this beautiful property in Cambria. Everything was as described in the listing and the photos were very realistic, although no photos can do justice to this home. The area around the home is really nice. There are a lot of hikes and much natural beauty as the house is literally surrounded by pines and a forest. The town of Cambria is also quiet nice. We did not get to see much of it, however, as we spent most of our days touring vineyards and the evenings cooking at home and then drinking wine in front of our fireplace. Cynthia (the owner) was very friendly and accommodating and gave us some good advice about things to do in the area. She also returned our security deposit speedily and without any problems. Overall, a very pleasant experience! We will definitely visit again and would recommend the place to anyone looking for a relaxing place to spend a weekend in Cambria.

Our family stayed here August, 2010 and had a terrific time! The owners were great to work with---very helpful throughout the process. The neighborhood is nice and is very quiet...it was wonderful to awaken each morning to the sound of silence! The Bill Kerr Trail is just steps from the front door and we enjoyed our early morning walks to the ocean. We saw many deer in the neighborhood during the late afternoon. The home was well-appointed and immaculate. The beds were so comfortable that we almost slept as late as our teenagers. Our days were spent at Hearst Castle, Hearst Beach (across from the castle---look for the sea otters south of the pier) and shopping in the quaint stores just minutes from the house. We used the charcoal grill most evenings to cook the fresh fish, beef and vegetables we'd purchased at the local farmer's market. A wonderfully relaxing trip that was the perfect get away. We'd definitely come back here and hopefully stay longer next time!

My family and I stayed here in June/2010. The description and photos were accurate. The owners were very helpful and the transaction was seamless. The house was a welcome getaway from a hotel stay. The house was high-end, comfortable and very close to the ocean and town. The house was near Hearst Castle, San Simeon beaches, Paso Las Robles, and Cambria. Cambria was a quaint little town with many restaurants and antique shops. I would stay here again

Our family stayed for a week and the accommodations were perfect: the home and the surroundings gorgeous, the beds comfortable, and the house spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed using the BBQ and fireplace, very cozy! We were able to spend time together as a family, which otherwise would have been difficult if we were in hotel rooms. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and there is much to see and do in Cambria and nearby. We loved that there is a hiking trailhead just steps from the property. Overall, an ideal vacation spot and super lucky find!

We decided rather late to go away for the Memorial Day weekend and luckily this property was available. Everything from beginning to end was a breeze!! The owners were wonderful to work with...everything from contact to payment to the return of our deposit went smoothly!! The property itself is INCREDIBLE!!! Located a little outside of Cambria in a lovely family neighborhood, the property is almost close enough to downtown Cambria to walk. The neighbors were all very friendly!! And the pictures don't do this property justice!! The home is BEAUTIFUL!! Hearst Castle is a mere 15 mins. away and the Elephant Seals viewing is about 20 mins. away. In Cambria a great place for lunch is the Cambria Grill. As for dinner...make sure you take something to BBQ...the property owners have a BBQ and we enjoyed a nice steak dinner on one of the nights we were there. We have already saved this property on our favorites and plan to make this an annual event!! Thanks again!!
