We love the Home Away website and we loved this home! We have four adult or almost adult children and our high school senior picked this place because it was "nestled in the pines." He made an excellent choice! The home was lovely - beautifully decorated and very homey. It was clean and had everything we needed. It was full of beautiful artwork and the owners were available by cell and email for any questions we had. We would most definitely stay here again! If you stay here, don't miss the Hearst Castl and the Sow's Ear was delicious!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner Cynthia was very nice and accomodated our 'changing plans'. Reservation deposits and 'security refunds' were easy and timely. When our group of 7 long time 'girlfriends' checked in for a holiday weekend, I got Hi-5's all around for selecting such a beautiful home. We were amazed that the owners had left some of their artwork and personal memorabilia on display in this home. We felt like special friends invited for a weekend. We dined in and dined out, enjoyed Moonstone Drive, Moonstone Bar and Grill for 'happy hour' and sunset, Cambria shopping, wine-tasting @ Two Coyotes, and hiking through Fiscalini Ranch Preserve from the piney forest near this home to the open vistas of a coastline walk with amazing vistas. Loved it all.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed here in late September. The house is beautiful, immaculately kept, Dwight & Cynthia are the best. We asked for a special favor and without hesitation, we had it. The house is centrally located. A great place to be if you want to be ALL OVER the central coast of California. This was our second time staying at a VRBO rental in California, and we would stay at this one again and again. Thank you so much Dwight and Cynthia! You are great to deal with! We enjoyed the roomy and comfort of the house for our family of 7 's needed respite for 5 days. We biked, hiked on nearby trails, shopped in Cambria and SLO, and went to nearby Hearst Castle. We all enjoyed the sea breezes, the quiet of the top deck and front porch were perfect for relaxing. The house is very clean and modern, nicely decorated and flowed easily with 7 people. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will look forward to coming back again soon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Hi Cynthia, I just wanted to thank you for letting us rent your beautiful home for our family vacation in Cambria! Your home was immaculate and so comfortable for our family. The weather was just perfect and we were able to visit Hearst Castle and take walks along Moonstone Drive at dusk. We ended our weekend at the Moonstone Bar and Grill which was as you had recommended great food and a wonderful view of the ocean. On the way home we stopped at one of the many wineries along Highway 46. We look forward to visiting Cambria again! Recommendations: Families with children of all ages; Use as central location for sightseeing and spending time in town; Quiet and comfortable getaway.Did you find this review helpful? This is a wonderful home and we had a very enjoyable time visiting Cambria, which was made more enjoyable because we had a home to stay in. The pictures on the VRBO site don't do the home justice; we entered, and stepped into a beautiful home. The home was spotless, the rooms comfortable, and the kitched well appointed. While staying in Cambria we traveled up hwy 1 to Carmel, visited Hearst Castle, Morrow Bay, went horse back riding, and especially enjoyed the walking trails right outside the front door. This was our first time using VRBO and we had such a good experience, we have already booked the home again for our next trip. Cynthia and Dwight are lovely to work with.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Four old (mid 50's) high school friends got together for a girls' weekend in Cambria. We went to Hearst Castle, lunched across from Moonstone Beach, did a little wine tasting in Paso Robles and had a wonderful dinner at Robin's in Cambria over a span of 4 days. Our "home" base was this property and it was perfect for our needs! The large sunken living room with a huge leather couch and two large chairs was ideal for our nightly chats and wine tasting. We used the well appointed kitchen for light breakfasts and even made dinner one night. The place was spotless and the bedrooms were very comfortable. It is just across from a wooded area where there are numerous hiking paths that we explored each morning and it is only minutes away from downtown Cambria by car. We highly recommend this home and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again - so much better than hotel rooms!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

When booking the place the photos look nice but in reality the place is even more impressive. Architecturally a beautiful and spacious house with plenty of space and all the modcons one would need for a pleasant stay. The place was immaculate and very clean. Cynthia was very helpful, and answered all questions promptly. A perfect place to enjoy the Central Coast from. We will definately be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The house was great for us. Everyone was comfortable and the location was perfect. We will definitely try to stay here again the next time we visit. I also appreciate the flexibility in the rental dates since a lot of rentals around this time of year require a 5-7 night stay. We just didn't have the time to stay that long so having the option of a 3-night stay was really great.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
