“Mother Ocean” was named after the inspiration of the ocean and beaches at Topsail, and the life-long gifts that they pass on to those who travel here. The property is a portion of a family-owned tract that was acquired in 1907 by our great grandfather, which included approximately a mile of the beach extending south of the property. The oceanfront in the vicinity of the house and on adjacent properties is vacant, which affords beautiful unobstructed panoramic views, and a private beach front with direct private access. A deck is located atop the dune on the ocean side for relaxing, and beachfront viewing. Private access to the sound is also available for canoeing, kayaking or fishing...or just to sit at the picnic table and enjoy the sunset! The house includes three bedrooms and two full baths with an ocean side deck with swing for taking in the view, and a back screened porch with a fan and swing for a quiet secluded break in the action. The house sleeps nine comfortably in the bedrooms, and eleven including the day bed in the living area. Escape from your everyday grind, and come enjoy the paradise of Topsail Island at this truly unique home!!

This was my 2nd. year staying at this wonderful beach house, last year my family and I stayed here for 1 week love it so much we decide to stay fo 2 weeks this year. The house has everything you would ever need, lots of room and very clean the front porch was just great (ocean front) so much room on the front and back porch. ( just a great Vac. home) We love this home :) going to stay there again 2012.
Recommended for:Families with young children.

My family stayed at Mother Ocean the last week of July 2010. We truly enjoyed the convenience, cleanliness and welcome feeling we had while staying at Mother Ocean. The house was wonderful. The beach was wonderful and the view from the front porch and bedrooms was fantastic. We plan on renting again. The history of the house was very interesting. Make sure you read the family story while you are there. Thanks, Mr Clark for sharing your family home with us.

Lovely well-maintained home, rich with family history. Beautiful views, private beach access, comfortable surroundings. Clear, emerald colored water, dolphins everyday, the view from the front porch is unreal. You can also see from the couch inside. There is always a great view! The home is also very clean, all appliances are in great working condition. The beds are super comfortable, and the linens being thrown in are a big break for mom. Easy access to car, shower under home complete with beach storage. I could go on and on, I really miss it!

Excellent location with 2 nice decks we spent hours on. Nice to have some necessities already on hand (toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, etc.). Comfortable furniture in good condition... not the case in other houses we have rented. Only thing I'd recommend is adding additional curtains to keep out the early morning sun and night traffic. Very pleased with the accomodations and price.
